I have always liked Jimmy Buffet, having pretty much grown up in the Keys myself, and so when my fiancé and I had the chance, we went to his restaurant in Universal. We had to wait quite a while because we had not made reservations, but we expected that given where we were.
The décor was really nice, and the crab and corn chowder was a real winner. We shared a lettuce wedge salad with "Louis" dressing. It was well assembled with bacon and avocado garnishes, and accompanied by some additional dressing. But it was a little bland as it lacked any real punch to lift you over the "just a piece of lettuce" problem. Adding a little bleu cheese or another sharp cheese would have greatly improved it.
But on the whole, it was a very pleasant experience. It was my fiancé's birthday, and I mentioned it when signing in. Later, the entertainment pirate on stilts came over and made her a balloon penguin with "happy birthday" on it. Nothing spectacular, but big applause from me for doing something rather than a dry old piece of cake like some places give you. I recommend this restaurant.
