We travelled to Disney for our honeymoon last year so decided to book a number of signature dining meals for the occasion, Jiko was one of them.
Let me start by saying that if you are not staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge then make sure you allow time before or after your meal to take a look around the hotel and at the animals outside. You won’t be disappointed, it’s pretty amazing. The attention to detail is second to none.
Also if you are using the Disney bus service from another hotel (as we did) allow plenty of time as this hotel is quite remote and it took some time to get there. I would allow 1 hour to be on the safe side.
Now to the restaurant - the service was a little slow, although very friendly, and we were slightly put out that at the time of booking they asked if it was a special occasion and we informed them that it was our honeymoon, however, it wasn’t mentioned during our meal. At the other restaurants we booked they made quite a fuss of the occasion and gave us complementary drinks or chocolates so I feel that this is an area Jiko could work on. That being said the waiters made us feel very welcome regardless so it didn’t take away from the experience.
The menu is pretty unusual which was a nice change. The chicken flatbread was delicious and a very good size for sharing. I don’t feel you could go wrong with any of the mains as they all looked amazing and my Crème Brule dessert was melt in the mouth.
Overall it was a very nice meal in a lovely setting and we would defiantly eat here again.
