What a surprise to find such excellent dining, atmosphere, service and overall quality in one place! We enjoyed every aspect of our experience. There is a great small bar in the waiting area. The restaurant design draws you into their smartly prepared and presented menu choices. Staff throughout are friendly and attentive. Moderate to high prices are appropriate. If you are looking for a little different place to really enjoy a very good dinner and presentation - this is it! We already are planning returns.

There are only a handful of restaurants that that we repeat when going to WDW. Jiko in the Animal Kingdom Lodge in Disney World is one such place. Jiko authentic African décor is wonderful .

The menu changes seasonally but has a few key signature dishes that you can always find. My favorites are the Taste of Africa appetizer and the Braised Short Rib. Throughout the season they offer several flat breads, which area always amazing, and even though the short rib recipe changes somewhat, it is always good as well.

The service was wonderful and Patti our waitress was attentive but not intrusive. She was knowledgeable about the menu and the wines..
I know several years ago the restaurant had some issues but I can tell you it is back on track.

Located inside Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, this is one of the best Disney has to offer. The atmosphere is cozy and warm with lighting and decor that are appropriate to the theme. This pricing is moderate to expensive but the food is creative, well prepared and well presented. After dinner, take a seat by the fire pit outdoors and enjoy the resort, as well. Not a place for children, though, this is a date night experience.

This is a great restaurant, if you get chance go on the cookery tour before where you get to understand the architecture and the cooking of the African influences in the buffet and building. The are on most days at four but are not clearly advertised.
The food is great and there is a good selection however be warned take small portions of everything most things are not as your expected, with strange flavours and must things tasting creamy or of cinnamon, is it not to everyones taste.
However, typically great service in Disney, reasonably priced and a good experience.

Dinner here is a poor value but a good choice. All the food is superb and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Excellent wine list and the atmosphere is delightful but a tad too dark during late night. If you are not on a budget this place is an easy choice but otherwise "ouch" on the pocketbook. Thumbs up!!!
