Description: Charley's Steak House has created a unique dining experience unsurpassed in the industry. The restaurant's namesake, Charley Woodsby, co-founder of the Red Lobster chain, was honored by the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association with the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006. After selling Red Lobster to General Mills in 1970, Charley and his son Ron Woodsby developed Talk of the Town Restaurants - the corporate parent to Charley's Steak House. Over the years the Woodsby's have become "beef aficionados" with a steadfast formula for success: feature only Midwest grain-fed USDA Prime & Choice beef, age on-site for 4 to 6 weeks, and have management cut meat daily and season for 30 hours to create distinctive flavor. The steak is then flame-grilled over a 1200° open pit, fueled with a combination of Florida citrus & oak wood. This carefully monitored process provides for quality, tenderness and a tantalizing taste that elevates Charley's to the ultimate steakhouse experience. Since its inception, Charley's Steak House has prided itself on being a traditional steakhouse. But with the rise in number of savvy diners came the need to evolve the definition of 'steakhouse'. Instituting a corporate chef and placing managing chefs at each location, Charley's has advanced into a traditional steakhouse with culinary flair featuring chef-driven appetizers and entrees as well as established menu items.

This is the third year we have visited it and it never disappoints. Terrific food and wine list is incredible. Will be back next year again. Waiter Steve topped the dinner off in style.

This place reminds me of what steakhouses used to be like back in the days when cooking steak was a coveted art form. Everything about the place was genuine, from the smell of the oak fire pit to the people running the show.
I typically have a medium rare steak because it is generally softer but my wife likes hers medium. Since we split a single giant steak, they cooked it medium as she requested. That was still the tenderest, juiciest, most flavorful steak I have ever eaten and i have eaten a whole lot if steaks in my time.
Another favorite was the Lobster Bisque. It was the real deal with lobster chunks in every delicious spoonful!
My only concern about the establishment was the Men's room. It needed some maintenance as a huge hole existed in the overhead tiles (big enough for a basketball to fit through) and the toilet enclosures are too small for any one of size to use comfortably. I am 5'8", 185 lbs, in good shape, and it was tricky for me!
Anyhow, take a good look at the grill, its fantastic! Overall the best steak ever!

Second visit here as we're steak lovers. Great sides and big portions are the main positives, sadly steak was only average which isn't good when it's over 40 dollars on its own, asked for it medium but it was pink/red all the way through and quite cold.

Having ate at quite a few high profile and established fine dining restaurants in the US I can say in my humble opinion this was the best, beat The Four Seasons in New York.

They explained how their food grill adds nothing to the meat, allowing it full flavour to come through.

The waiter brought a selection of the cuts to the table, Gordon Ramsay style to allow us to see what was on offer and the size of the meat.

After much debate and a couple of suggestions from our ever present waiter we decided on the Bison, giving the Wagu up as we have sampled on a number of occasions.

Just wished we had visited earlier in the stay as this was our last night, as with the complimentary valet parking, quality of service and food it would have been definitely worth a re visit.

They have two main rooms depending upon what you are wearing, more to make sure all their guests feel comfortable and they had no problem in accommodating a walk in, although I would now book if going back.

Remember you get what you pay for and this is not the cheapest restaurant in the region, but definitely worth a visit.

Our server Chris helped make the night perfect. The portions were the perfect size for us to try 2 of the fantastic deserts.
