Morning offerings may include fresh fruit, African pastries, omelets, pancakes, french toast, bacon, sausage, carved ham, breakfast potatoes, cereal, oatmeal, scrambled eggs and corn beef bobotie—a type of quiche. The dinner buffet offers favorites prepared with African flair, which may include signature vegetarian selections, traditional dishes, fire-grilled meats, seafood, soups, salads, and desserts.

“Always, always a winner...”

Boma has been one of my favorites since the first time we went there. Later, we took our 16 yr old for a surprise birthday trip and the Boma staff did her up right- dessert medley (with offerings not on the buffet), card signed by all the staff, etc. I have noticed over the years that the noise level is increasing, perhaps because Boma is part of the Disney dining plan and more families are going there. We noticed a big decrease in the overall loudness once it was past 8pm.

The meal is not to be rushed, but savored. Plates are small as they should be- this is a "taste of Africa" not "how many hippos can you consume..." Begin with a few spoonfuls of different salads, then a bit of soup, then maybe some bread and spreads, then up to the main courses. Everything is wonderful.

A nice draft beer and a relaxing dinner is a great way to end the day- and then if you have room some coffee and a nibble of sweet or two. Take your time... This is not a race.

I do not think we have ever had a poor or inattentive waitstaff, and making reservations is a big "yes." If you are dining without children, do go later for a quieter experience, free from young'uns dodging about with their plates.

“Flavors of What ???”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014

The "Flavors of Africa" was extremely misleading. Despite the huge selection of foods, most of it was a mix of African dishes watered down to meet today's horrid plain cuisine standards.

Spicy pasta salad was merely fusilli with cumin mixed into it. Desserts were terrible and tasteless. On a positive note, the salmon and a few of the soups were very good and there was a great selection of good quality wines!

The place was very loud and busy. There were long lines at the buffet with many people zipping in and out. Fruit selection looked old and was dry. Service was very rushed - when we asked for water, the drink menu was taken from us and we needed to ask for it back to order a glass of wine.

“Incredible variety!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014 via mobile

We never have a Disney trip that does not include dinner at BOMA. This year, we had the pleasure of being the family of the day that was escorted into the dining area to African music. Fun! We always make our reservations on either a Wednesday night or a Saturday night because my husband loves their ribs. My son is always pleased that even though at Disney he is considered an adult for dining, he can still request and get chicken nuggets and fries - even though these are not offered on the buffet. My favorites are the carrot soup and the pasta salad. Give BOMA a try, I doubt that you will be sorry that you did.

“Just ok.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014

We had high expectations for this restaurant after reading all of the reviews. It was well out of our way to go there for dinner but thought we would try it out. The zebra domes that everyone raves about were gross and the food was just okay. I agree the soup was pretty good though, but I don't think we would ever go out of our way again to go there. Our waitress was also quite slow and we didn't get any refills on our drinks. We also had to wait for almost an hour to be seated, despite having a reservation.

“A LIttle Bit Different”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2014

This is a buffet restaurant good choice for both meat and non meat eaters. Food was a cross between american and african and lots of lovely new things to try.For me personally found the food a little bit spicy but for most people wouldn't think this would be an issue
