Description: Santiago's Bodega presents a unique tasting experience featuring small plates that hopscotch between decadent (a warm Camembert wedge topped with sauteed garlic, onions, almonds, apricots, chopped dates, bell peppers), refreshing (yellow fin tuna, avocado, mango ceviche), exotic (lamb patties with fresh thyme, sherry, lemon zest) and just plain comfort-food-delicious (Roman meatballs on angel hair, or fried potatoes in a spicy sauce). As nothing costs over $15, there’s no major commitment, and if the relationship doesn't work, move along to the next selection. The menu’s ideal for sharing and for mixing up in endless combinations. Alternate between chevre tartlet, spanakopita, or smoked salmon carpaccio. Invent your own meal. Dining in such a way permits the rules of wine pairings to step aside like snooty impostors, and what goes best with dinner is exactly what tempts you. Santiago’s Bodega is a good-natured, low-key, food-lovers hangout, a neighborhood restaurant. - Margit Bisztray

After hearing that Santiag's Bodego in Key West was great, we made a dinner reservation on a Sunday evening. When we arrived, we were sested at the first table inside the bar, a very poor location. We asked to be seated at a different hightop (which I don't like). Then we realized we were not going to be able to hold a conversation. They then moved us to a tabke in the dining room which is where we should have been anyway. Since I made the time to make a reservation for a rather slow night, we should have been seated in a nicer place to start with. The service was dod. The food was good, but the price was pretty high.

This place has a natural buzz happening and they allow small easy dogs outside and they separate the outside smoking tables. The grilled Brussels, beef short ribs and the bacon wrapped goat cheese dates are fantastic. My service was average and so was his tip, but the food is great, good quality and they have a nice happy hour. I've eaten there 2x's and the other time was at the bar, also average service. However the food, ambiance and buzz will make up for it!

We dined here for the first time this past Sat. nite & the place was packed (we're glad we made a res'y). We were very impressed with the atmosphere (great indoor ambiance and outdoor seating), fantastic menu, great food and good service. For just a tapas dinner (w/wine) it was a wee bit pricey though.

The Santiago's Bodega in Key West is one of my favorite restaurants, so we were super excited to have one in our hometown. We had dinner there this past week and were impressed with the ambiance, the service and the food. Four of us shared (maybe too many) dishes, including the dates, short ribs, green beans, pear and avocado salad, scallops, spanokopita and chicken skewers. Everything arrived with excellent timing, our drinks were kept refilled, and our waiter was charming and really helpful. The location on Virginia is also fantastic for bar-crawling, since so many places are within walking distance. We had an excellent time and we're planning to return soon.

The most incompetent front of the house staff I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I'd rather stab myself in the face than try and order take out from them again. Save yourself the trouble and go to McDonalds. Just bad.
