And we can wrangle the heartiest appetites, 'cause we've got lunch and dinner Canyon Skillets, too. Be sure to save room for the Canyon Apple Pie!

On our last day at WDW, we decided to treat ourselves to lunch at a sit down restaurant. The Disney reservation system was not working, sow e took our chances on just showing up. We only had to wait 10 minutes, with a pager, in the amazing lobby of this resort modeled after the Western Park Lodges. We knew there was the possibility of sassy interactions with the staff. We were not disappointed with Mountain Mama. She made the lunch a fun experience, but was also good at reading her guests and not pushing those who would not welcome her teasing. The restaurant was not busy on an early-May Tues. and our food arrived in about 15 minutes. Portions were large and the food surprisingly good. I had the turkey with cranberry mayonnaise, and a side of fries (and we managed to get ketchup without a lot of ribbing.) My daughter enjoyed the salmon BLT, which was open faced on herbed focaccia bread, with no side. We had no trouble omitting ingredients. This was our only meal at WDW that had the "Florida water! We had hoped all restaurants were now using the filtered water. The family next to us had several food allergies, and the chef came out of the kitchen and did a thorough questioning and explanation with the family, to make sure what they ordered would fit their dietary restrictions.
We were pleased with Whispering Canyon as our choice for what is a "fancy' restaurant for our family. After the meal,. we explored the lodge, the lovely grounds, and took the boat ride triangle to Ft. Wilderness, the Contemporary, and back to Wilderness Lodge.

The food is tasty and the service was prompt and quite pleasant. I wouldn't recommend if you don't have kids. This place is very kid-oriented, which in Disney is completely as it should be! Great photo ops and the lodge is just incredible. I would definitely eat here again with my kids. To see them having fun and smiling is priceless to me :-)

It's a rip roaring time at the Whispering Canyon (there is no "whispering about this place!). The food is excellent--but way too much (and I like to eat). The staff makes the dining a lot of fun. ...and if you need ketchup, look out! It's coming! A lot of it.

First trip to the cafe for myself, my husband and kids ages 6 & 8. Food was good/average and menu is limited. Atmosphere is noisy and surroundings are beautiful. Based on reviews I thought it would be more fun than it was. Everyone says "ask for ketchup" so we did and it was fun for the kids.

Did this as part of a Disney BackStage Tour. This was our lunch stop. Beautiful lobby when you walk in to the Whispering Canyons Lodge. We were told to ask for ketchup. Waitresses all put on quite a show. We had a set barbecue meal. The meat, ribs especially, were pull off the bone tender. Had coleslaw been included it would have made the meal. There is also an a la carte menu. Fun way to eat on a tour with new friends that you do not know.
