Description: The Kona Cafe infuses a bit of Asian zest into traditional American breakfast, lunch and dinner fare in Disney's Polynesian Resort. Indulge in the scrumptious cinnamon and banana-stuffed Tonga Toast or choose from a variety of more savory breakfast options like a variety of egg dishes and pineapple macadamia nut pancakes. At midday, satisfy your hunger with an Island chicken sandwich and housemade sweet potato chips, shrimp and scallops, or other tasty entrees. Dine in the evening on delicacies such as a selection of fresh fish, grilled ginger-crusted ribeye steak or coconut almond chicken. As you enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this Polynesian restaurant, feast your eyes across the onstage open pastry kitchen that prepares divine desserts. Kona Cafe offers authentic Kona coffee as a perfect pairing to these pastries, or as a rich addition to any meal.

“Great Food Value in a Casual Setting”

We were riding the monorail and decided to stop for lunch in the Polynesian Resort. The Kona Cafe is on the same level as the monorail and easily accessible. Seating is such that you can watch most of the hotel lobby and the trains go by.

We had a light lunch of sushi that was well prepared and enough that it really satisfied us. Some of the best sushi we have had. Great chopsticks instead of the tossable wood ones. Good unobtrusive service.

The breakfast was great Tonga toast for all! Went over for lunch from the magic kingdom. Awesome food service for lunch was a little slow but good. One of the best Disney has to offer.

“Kona Cafe for breakfast, Great”
Reviewed October 6, 2013

Noticed all reviews mentioned dinner, my husband loved Tonga toast (stuffed French toast) and I enjoyed a waffle for breakfast before taking monorail to Magic Kingdom in AM. Service was fantastic, waiter even rushed our meals so we could be available for AAA to put air in rental car tire.

“Average at best, pretty disappointed....”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

Of the 3 moderate priced restaurants we dined at during our Disney vacation, Kona Cafe was the least impressive. The service was relatively poor. While we had a reservation for 4 adults, they clearly seated us at a table intended for only 2 which made the meal logistically difficult from the beginning. While our waitress was friendly with a good attitude, the service took a long time and tables seated after us were receiving their food before us. The food quality was mediocre at best and a bit lower than the other similarly priced restaurants we tried both in the park and at other hotels (e.g. Wilderness Lodge). My pork chop was acceptable but uninspired while my wife's asian noodle dish was bland and poor. I didn't find the atmosphere appealing but that is true of most of the restaurants in this price range. I wonder why Disney doesn't add more restaurants and enable some quieter spots in the mid-price range? I think it would be well accepted.

“The best meal we had in Orlando”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

We went to Disney to re- live our childhood and went to Magic Kingdom
spent the morning beating the crowds on a few attractions going on them multiple times like little kids having a blast ! then the heat set in . lucky for us we didnt want to do much more than ride the monorail and go to all the hotel bars and eat and drink.
Then the rain came down and it rained hard for 2 straight days. we waited to have a drink at the bar in the Polynesian resort but it didnt open until 1:30 so we walk 3 feet to the Kona cafe , the wife and i got our drinks and so we ate .. i had the asian noodle bowl and it was awesome and the wife had a similar noodle dish and they were both excellent. after chowing down and drinking a few, we made it back to the park just in time for the Parade. too bad LSD isnt legal or obtainable because it would have been fun to trip out for this .oh i forgot this a review of the Kona cafe, yeah, the food rocked!!, the service was a lil slow.
enjoy !!
