“not so good”
Reviewed December 24, 2008

i booked especially to see the fireworks on our last night so was advised i'd need a 9pm seating, bit later than i'm used to but knew i'd see water pageant & fireworks. Waiter took our order & before he left i stated we were going out to see the water pageant. When we returned we had our starters, so far so good.
food very good and waiter attentive, but he delivered entree as soon as fireworks went off. As these were the fireworks you normally get for Christmas i was a bit miffed as it meant ignoring food that quite frankly is not cheap and nipping outside or craning myself around in the chair in between mouthfuls, which i did. Perhaps i should have emphasied that i'd like the meal delivered after fireworks but assumed as he works there he would know that or check with his patrons, put a damper on the evening for me. Kiwi & almond desserts very good!

“A Wonderful Anniversary Dinner”
Reviewed October 8, 2008

My husband and I dined here on our actual one-year anniversary (9/15). Narcoossee's did not disappoint. We were seated promptly and decided not to wait for a window seat, since most people view the fireworks from the deck and block those sitting at the windows anyway. Our waitress was good but not excellent. We did receive the souvenier menus, which were a nice surprise. The pace of the dinner was good but it was not timed to the fireworks and we had to leave our entrees to view the show. It would have been better to wait until the fireworks were finished and then serve our entrees.

We ordered the surf and turf and the whole Maine lobster. They were both delicious! For dessert, we ordered the almond-crusted cheesecake and the chocolate gateau. Both were amazing. I liked the presentation of the cheesecake better last year, when it was served with an edible picture of the princesses. The new presentation was plain, but it was still fabulous. We also had the French-pressed coffee done right at our table and that was great.

We had been looking forward to this dinner 8 months and Narcoossee's did not let us down! This was our best meal at Disney during our trip and it continues to be our favorite restaurant on Disney property. We tried the California Grill on this trip but it did not live up to Narcoossee's. We will be back- we have reservations for our upcoming holiday trip with my in-laws in December! Even though it counts as 2 dining credits on the Dining Plan, it is worth it. Try it- you won't regret it!

“A Thoroughly Disappointing Experience!!”
Reviewed September 15, 2008

While the restaurant certainly boasts a perfect location that offers wonderful views across the Seven Seas Lagoon, the food and customer service at Narcoossee's left a lot to be desired! Although our evening got off to a wonderful start as we admired the fireworks display from a spectacular position, things very quickly went downhill; When our lobster bisque starters (finally) arrived they were almost stone cold and had formed a thick skin! We informed a server who whisked them away and told us we would be brought fresh ones shortly. However before these arrived, our main courses turned up so we explained the starter situation and they were taken away. The second round of bisques were warm and very tasty, but when our mains arrived (at the correct time) the $59 'Surf and Turf's we had ordered were stone cold! We could only come to the conclusion that the mains that were mistakenly brought to us 15 minutes earlier were the same that now sat in front of us!

Finally we were brought meals that were warmer and a manager approached our table. Having barely heard a single apology all night from the servers, we assumed this was the reason for the managers visit. We were wrong! He simply explained to us (in an extremely patronising tone) that a cream-based soup such as a bisque is not meant to be served piping hot and forms a skin quickly. He then went on to inform us that the restaurant never sends out food that has been left standing..so we therefore must be mistaken.

All in all we had a long and unpleasant evening of cold and disappointing food in addition to rude and unapologetic staff who refused to take any kind of responsibilty for mistakes made by the restaurant that night.

For the high prices you pay at Narcoossee's it is not unreasonable to expect high quality service and food. If you are looking for a disney restaurant that provides in both these areas you should travel across the lagoon to the California Grill in the Contemporary Resort where both the food and service is exceptional!

“wonderful dinner”
Reviewed August 13, 2008

my husband and i just recently dined at narcoossee's this weekend on our vacation. we were able to get a table right by the window that had a wonderful view of the electric light show and then the evening magic kingdom fireworks. from my seat i could see the castle and main street station from clear view, it was beautiful! the food was wonderful.. we started off with the artisian cheeses app. my husband enjoyed the scallop dinner and i prefered something lighter that night so i chose to have an appetizer as my dinner, crab cakes and they were delicous (not the best i've had..but still very good). our waitress was not the best and our service was a little less than average. she was polite in the beginning, even joking we had started without her (we got our first martinis up at the bar) but soon after our appetizer was done and she realized we were not ordering the "big ticket" items (lobster or filet..which we just previously had the night before) we barely saw her the rest of our dinner. i know some people may think it was all in my head but she went from all smiles to barely cracking a grin when we asked for more bread or another drink. at one point my husband even said, "where did our waitress go??" we still give this restaurant 5 stars and probably one of the best at disney!

“Exclellent Food, Services, & Ambiance!”
Reviewed July 13, 2008

We are here at a major 5 Star Hotel Conference at The Grand Floridian that starts tonight. We are all differant and like movies, we all have differant opinions. II travel often on business/pleasure and eat at many restaurants in the USA & abroad. Narcoossee's is EXCEPTIONAL!!. There is a 90 degree view of the lake wherever you sit; great ambiance for family or adults; Delicious food; Impeccable service - ordered lobster and the waiter brought the chef out so he could prepare it the way I wanted; All the food was excellent by all in our part of four; a special occasion and they go way beyond your "expectations". The cost was in the mid-expensive. Very memorable experience and evening from a very critical party of 4.
