“Worth the visit”
Reviewed February 21, 2014 via mobile

We stumbled on this place as it is very close to the Seaworld parks.

The 45-min tour was entertaining. The place smells great and the tour ends with a tasting of free trade chocolates. Dave, our Aussie guide was great.

We had a 9-yo girl who loves chocolate and also gives 5 stars.

“Choco-Tastic!”
Reviewed February 19, 2014

We went here one afternoon in February for both the tour and to try something at the cafe.

We started with some afternoon tea at the cafe and were very happy with our orders. My husband had an apple tart and i a southern bourbon chocolate cake. Both were delicious!

We then headed off on the tour which was not only informative but also fun! The tour guide was a delight and he was more than happy to answer any questions extra to the tour. The displays were varied and really helped with learning the history of chocolate.

The highlight of the tour though was the large chocolate sculptures which ranged from Mount Rushmore to the Taj Mahal to portraits and busts of famous people. There is also an area with a display of chocolate molds and wrappers which was surprisingly very interesting to view.

The tour ends with a chocolate tasting of some of their finer chocolates which if you enjoy you can then purchase from their store. Over all a very interesting way to spend and afternoon!

“Worth the wait”
Reviewed February 18, 2014

We saw this ready to open last year but had to leave before things were ready to go. We wanted to make sure we got there this year and the wait was well worth it. The tour was by David, from Australia, who was pleasant and informative. Learned a lot about chocolate and enjoyed the samples at the end of the tour. The $15 fee for the tour is a little steep but we enjoyed ourselves and chocolate for some (like us) can be a priceless experience!

“Cute, Fun, and Tasty”
Reviewed February 16, 2014

I've spent a lot of time in Orlando and was excited to hear about a quirky new attraction, the World of Chocolate Museum. It was cute and fun, not to mention tasty. The front is a "chocolate cafe," offering gourmet chocolates from around the world. I was happy to see that the menu items (ranging from truffles to cakes to hot chocolate and more) were no more expensive than gourmet foods elsewhere. (For example, truffles are $1.95 each, which is about the average price for truffles at a chocolatier or candy shop, and they have dozens of varieties to choose from.) We arrived about 45 minutes before the tour, and enjoyed truffles from different countries while we waited.

The tour was about an hour long, and covered the history chocolate, how chocolate is made, and a display of chocolate statues. The guide was energetic and engaging. The chocolate statues were impressive. It was interesting to learn how chocolate is made in detail, and exactly why gourmet chocolate and a Hershey bar taste so different.

Speaking of taste, near the end of the tour, we were allowed to try a dozen different types of international (and pricey) chocolates. It was a delicious end to a fun little program. I recommend this venue to adults and families with older children. Young children would probably find it dull.
