Mama's website gives full disclosure that the content is for mature audiences but it was even raunchier that we expected based upon the video clips on their site or other Tripadvisor reviews we read. Most of the audience loved the show but my wife and I found too much of the humor to be immature and perverse (constantly going to the themes of sex, oral sex, implied gay sex, pedophilia, bodily functions, more oral sex, etc, etc.) It was like nearly every joke or skit eventually ended up on one or more of these ... I guess those are easy laughs, but to us it seemed both juvenile ...and incredibly predictable. Some of the skit set ups were funny and we enjoyed one particular routine that was based on a benign ridiculous premise; but overall this place wasn't for us and we left during intermission. To each their own. Just adding our review to the balance.

You know how you sometimes sit around wondering what is there to do, cause you don't want to do the same thing you've done 100 times before? Well this is it. Fresh, fun, and different. A great experience all around. From the cozy bar, to the intimate dinner sitting, (I didn't order food), to and especially the entertainment. We're on a two week vacation, and so luckily we'll get to go twice.

Me & 3 others visited Mama's on the 9th Aug 2013 after reading about it on Tripadvisor. We all had a great time and I would highly recommend going if you feel the need to do something different on your vacation other than theme parks & restaurants. The Improvisation is really off the cuff, quick, sharp, risqué but most important of all....FUNNY.
The performers are all different characters but are great to a man/woman.
In short, just GO, once the laughs start rolling you will be glad you have found this little gem, I doubt it will stay that way for much longer.
Note: If you having difficulty finding the venue, head for sleuths as it is held in the same venue.

Mama's Friday night Comedy Show is the best deal in Orlando bar none for many reasons. First, the admission is $10 per person but us local regulars know and have in our possession Mama's punch card that gets you free admission on your 10th punch. It also gets you and up to three others in for a bargain basement price of $5 each. NOWHERE in Orlando can you get in ANYWHERE for $5 for two hours of live, fresh entertainment.

My wife and I have been going to Mama's Friday night shows since they started them back in 2009, I really feel like it's our little local secret and I don't want word to get out to any obnoxious tourists.

The show, located at Sleuth's Mystery Dinner Theater, is usually held in an intimate theater room right off of the main bar. But on occasion, they sometimes move it to a larger theater room to accommodate larger expected groups. I don't like it when they do this, it ruins the whole thing for me personally.

The worst part is the check-in process, run by Sleuth's. You should call in advance and make reservations to assure you get seats. You should also arrive at least 30 minutes in advance to claim those reservations and stand in line. The small Sleuth's ticket area/bar/gift shop does not hold a lot of people and there is extremely limited seating. It always seems like it takes so long to wait in line to pay and check in. There should be a simpler process such as purchasing tix online and just lining up to go into the show room. The show runs from 10pm until midnight so be prepared for a late night.

The show concept itself is great BUT it is dependent on who appears for the night. Just like with anything, some performers are good and so, not so good. The performers are local Orlando area residents that also appear in other places such as dinner shows and theme park shows or hold regular day jobs. Mama's is a great way for them to sharpen their comedy skills in front of a live audience.

Mama's Comedy Show is 100% improv comedy with some standard routines they do every show such as 'bell ringer' where the scene changes with the ring of a bell or 'redneck town halll meeting' where the small town Mayor addresses the local, er, constituents. All the performers are referred to as 'Cousins'. Our favorite Cousin is longtime performer 'Cousin Tony'. This guy has us usually rolling in the aisle. If he is in the show (he usually is) you will have a great time. Other current regulars include Cousin Ed, Cousin Jaimz (a GIRL!), Cousin Todd, and Cousin Matt are all solid as well.

My favorite routine is at the end of every show where they have a joke competition judged by the audience and presided over by an obnoxious and pretentious 'king' (one of the Cousins, usually Todd lately) complete with stuffed cheesy crown where the Cousins tell their best '99 xxx's walk into a bar...' jokes with subjects given by the audience.

One word of advice, don't go to Mama's Comedy Show hungry or thirsty. There is usually one waiter (provided by Sleuth's) working the crowd and it takes FOREVER to get your drink. There is also a very limited food menu which I have never ordered from. Just eat and drink before you arrive.

Also Sleuth's does their own comedy shows on Saturday nights featuring regular stand up comics. Mama's is only Friday nights and you will have a better time. Remember too that Mama's is 'grown up' humor so leave your little angels behind at the theme parks (kids not admitted anyway so they would have to sit in the car in the dark parking lot while Mommy and Daddy drink inside).

Mama's should get an award from the City of Orlando for making it a better place to laugh. Here's hoping they keep on going with the family for many more years, bringing improv comedy to the masses at a price you can't refuse.

Best thing we did in Orlando. For all the parents- take a night away from the kids, the mouse and Harry Potter and go see Mamas. Similar to "whose line is it anyway" but so much better in person. $10 was also the best value of the trip- came out to about 2 cents per laugh
