Ever since we heard about Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar opening up in the Italian Pavilion at Epcot in Walt Disney World, we could not wait to try it. We have thoroughly enjoyed our experiences at La Cava del Tequila in the Mexico Pavilion and to take the same approach with wine and Italian food is fantastic. The addition of Via Napoli in 2010 brought with it the great energy of the typical Italian casual dining experience I have experienced when traveling to Italy. Now with the great foods and wines at Tutto Gusto, Walt Disney World has offered the full Italian wine and food experience.
We arrived at Tutto Gusto at 8:30pm after leaving our 16 year old son, who picked a wonderful vegetarian dinner at Morocco’s counter service with our 11 year old daughter, who picked out sushi at Japan's counter service. It's wonderful that both countries are just a short walk to Italy.
Tutto Gusto has a combination of tables and sofas for sitting and enjoying the food and wine. We selected a sofa with a table in front of it. Donia, our wonderful server for the night, provided us menus from both Tutto Italia Ristorante as well as an expansive wine menu to pick from. To be able to select from either of the menus to enjoy at Tutto Gusto is certainly a big plus, especially with the often long wait times normally associated with both popular restaurants. We selected a traditional antipasto plate of meats and cheeses to enjoy with a glass of wine or two.
The wine list is very extensive and a since we are not as familiar with Italian wines as we would like to be, we asked for some assistance. I mentioned that we were looking for a robust Italian wine from the Tuscan region and was looking for some suggestions. After a short discussion with Donia, she recommended a 2009 Lucente Luce, a blend of Merlot (75%) and Sangiovese (25%) from the Tuscan region. Overall the wine is impressive.
We enjoyed the Lucente Luce and the wonderful meats and cheese while taking in the wonderful atmosphere of Tutto Gusto. The lounge is very relaxing and conducive for conversations with your group or new friends you may meet.
Our kids showed up later in the evening and we ordered Cannolis for them. The Cannolis were wonderful and our kids loved them.
We look forward to returning to Tutto Gusto on our next visit and enjoying an hour or two relaxing and enjoying the wonderful food, wine and people of Italy.
