“Great Location - Near Epcot”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2014

As with any Disney property, everything looked great and the grounds were fabulous. Check in was a breeze and Concierge service was top notch; taking all the time we needed to make our decisions about our days. We (2 adults, 2 older teen boys) stayed in a Studio villa for 2 nights and it was comfortable. Great view from our balcony onto the lawn and Boardwalk. Got a little noisy at night with the balcony door open (weather was so nice, we wanted to leave it open), but everything seemed to calm down for the most part after the nightly fireworks over the lake. Bathroom was a bit tight and furnishings could have used some sprucing up/updating, but overall, nice place. It's less than a 10 minute walk to Epcot which was our destination. Nice to just park the car and forget about it for a few days. Lots to do if you just want to hang out on site; especially at night with bike rentals, tennis courts, pool with bar area, street performers at night, restaurants, etc. A good place to hang out with family and friends.

Room Tip: Rooms on the Boardwalk side tend to be a bit noisier than on the pool side...at least at night, anyw...

As they say location, location, location. Being built in 1996, Boardwalk Villas were the second villas built thus they do show some aging. We (my husband and I and our 3 kids in their 20’s) stayed in a 2-bedroom lock-off ( 2 hall entry doors) which consists of a one-bedroom, one bath, living room with comfortable pull out-couch bed, full kitchen. There is a connection to a studio with one queen bed, another pull-out couch bed, a small refrigerator and sink, and bathroom. The bathroom layout in the 1-bedroom is a bit odd allowing access from both the living room and the sink/tub area located in the bedroom. Although the rooms were impeccably clean, they showed signs of aging in the kitchen and the bathroom (not all the jets worked in the tub, the laundry room door kept falling off the track) nothing major, but after being spoiled with the newness at Kidani and their exceptional cast members, it was noted. So, as far as the room itself … Kidani wins; really missed that third bathroom. The cast members at Boardwalk are just as friendly and helpful as those throughout Disney.
Now ... location! I know people have complained about time waiting for the elevators and the length of the hallways, but we found neither an issue. The elevators are quick and available. The hallways feel, and most likely are, a lot shorter than those at Kidani ... but hey, you're at Disney ... walking is part of the event! From our room on the fourth floor, it took us 15-20 mins. to get to the gate at Hollywood Studios; 10-15 mins to get to Epcot (if you can resist passing the Bakery!). After staying at Kidani, having to bus everywhere, this was amazing! We definitely increased our park time. We purchased the "hopper" and truly took advantage visiting several parks in the same day. We would get up early and be at 9:00 rope drop at HS each morning. We would get in Toy Story, Rock n Roll Coaster, and Tower of Terror by 10:00 and then move on to which ever park we planned for that day. The same at night, we would often find ourselves strolling along the waterfront over to Epcot World Showcase and exploring all the little hidden treasures in each of the countries. The freedom to say “Hey, I’m going to France for a cappuccino, be right back” was pretty cool … no need to plan when and where to “meet up”.
We never used the pool, gym, or other “extras” offered at Boardwalk so I cannot speak of them.
As we go every February, we already have begun to discuss where to stay next year. I honestly wanted to try Old Key West, but was voted down by the other four who feel Boardwalk is the best place to stay at Disney World … and so it is!

Room Tip: As far as I can tell, there are no bad views. Other family members stayed in a "view" room...

We stayed in a deluxe studio for two nights starting February 11, 2014. We are DVC members and stayed on points. We used on-line check in from my tablet while we were in the airport. Check in was quick as we already had our Magic Bands and had previously made our FastPass+ selection. If you don’t do this before check-in, you will be at the front desk for a while.

Our room had a queen bed and a sleeper sofa. The bed was firmer than I, or my wife likes, but for two nights it was OK. The bathroom was very clean as was the kitchenette and the rest of the room. The resorts best feature is its location – you can walk to Epcot or DHS. We enjoyed our stay and would gladly come back.

Had a terrific time at the BoardWalk Villas. The location is outstanding, within easy walking distance of Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The Boardwalk view is quite scenic with lots of activities and great views. As there are outstanding choices for Villas at Disney, this is one of the most convenient for near many activities and places of interest.

We were looking forward to staying at this Disney property for our winter vacation but it was simply awful. The rooms are dated and aged. The first night they put us in a noisy room overlooking construction. There was compressor noise all night and the jackhammers started at 9AM. Being on West Coast time that was VERY irritating. They upsold us to a meal plan that is not user friendly, the staff is also not friendly, except for the Bell staff. This property gives Mickey a black eye and will be our last Disney vacation.

We stayed 5 nights in a one bedroom villa in early February. The customer service we found to be a 6 out of 5. We overlooked the pool with two balconies-would have preferred one large porch but no big deal. More than enough room for the wife and I but would not want to stay with more than 2 children. The location to Epcot and DHS is fantastic. The grounds are well kept. The main pool was warm and they have a quiet pool although it was a little colder. There are restaurant choices and shops that are slightly high-end that are close. You can always walk to Epcot for a slew of choices which for us is why we came. Although we found the unit very clean I was a little freaked out how dated the furniture was. The carpet in the main room was very old with a large rip, exposing the floor and stains. Just not a Disney standard. It did not ruin our vacation but for the price point you want it to be so 1st class that you are dying to get back. Although we would consider Boardwalk again we might also look at other options. To be able to walk back to our room from Epcot was great, but you are really paying for that luxury. The staff at the front desk and concierge were very helpful but outside at the parking reception there were many staff standing in groups sort of in the way. They were helpful if you asked something but I felt like we were interrupting what they were doing. All things considered we had a good stay.

We have stayed two times with our family and love everything about it. We love being able to walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Boardwalk also offers a lot of entertainment at night! Rooms (we have stayed in 1 bedroom both times) are beautiful as well.

Some amazing dining locations right there on the boardwalk. We love Kouzzina for any meal!
