Description: 'Ohana restaurant in Disney's Polynesian Resort offers a Character Dining breakfast and a Polynesian-inspired dinner menu. Both meals are served family-style—quite fitting since 'ohana means family in the Hawaiian language.Character Dining at BreakfastJoin Lilo and Stitch for 'Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast! Feel like you're a part of their intergalactic 'ohana when you join them for an American breakfast influenced by the exotic tastes of the Polynesian islands. Menu selections include scrambled eggs, Island-style fried potatoes, Hawaiian pork sausages, smoked bacon and a variety of fresh fruits and breads.Family-Style Polynesian DinnerWhen the doors open for dinner, the bellow of conch shells welcome you to 'Ohana. Adding to the island ambiance are tikis, storytellers and coconut races, in which children sweep coconuts with brooms across the hardwood floor down the center of the restaurant. The family fun continues as everyone is encouraged to play with hula hoops and dance to island music. The 'Ohana servers add to the festive atmosphere, as they dash between tikis and tropical greenery to bring plates of Polynesian specialties to your table. Choose from skewers roasted over an expansive 18-foot oak fire pit, and side dishes include stir-fried vegetables, fried dumplings, lo mein noodles and a salad starter.

“Shrimp was great!”
Reviewed December 19, 2013

I have been excited/anxious to try out Ohana for years... However, I felt like when the server came up and asked where we were staying, she took "Pop Century" as though we weren't going to tip her. That being said, we waited 10 minutes before she came back for her drinks, and she brought back an extra one that no one ordered which made me feel she wasn't paying attention. I can't say as a server here it's a hard job--bring a few things, the guys with the skewers do all the rest. I have to say, the gentlemen going around with the skewers from Memphis, TN was great! Cracking jokes the whole time and very friendly. Bread was good, salad was A+, pot stickers were awesome. The only thing I found disturbing was the pork--DEFINITELY rare. So chewy we could not even bite into it. The waitress only brought back a refill once when all of us needed a third one badly. She brought out a tiny portion of the dessert for the 4 of us, but we didn't want to ask and wait even longer. Service sucks, but go for the food!!

“Delicious!”
Reviewed December 18, 2013

What a meal! The food is really delicious and in abundance. The grilled shrimp and wings were some of our favorites. BUT, the banana coconut bread pudding with caramel glaze was hands down the best dessert I have ever eaten! And I am not usually a fan of bread pudding or coconut. A great meal and relaxing environment is what we needed after a long day in the park.

“Losing Its Special Charm - Now Just About "Chowing Down"”
Reviewed December 18, 2013

For the past twenty five years, Ohana has always been a must-do dining destination on our Disney trips. After our most recent visit this is no longer the case. We always enjoyed their effort to makes their guest feel like they were in the islands, with great emphasis on the entire staff sharing a cultural experience from their greetings to a detailed explanation of the service and food. Each course was an event with a certain amount of laid-back ceremony. The Hawaiian entertainers put on a nice "luau-lite" show that engaged families down to the smallest kids. And the food was pretty good too.

Now it seems its designed to attract the mall buffet crowd with the only challenge to see how much food a family can stuff down with little regard for the Hawaiian culture and pace. Our service was poor and disengaged. Specialty cocktails that appear on the printed photo menu could not be made by the bar staff "because they are not in the computer". But worst of all was the pace of service. The courses came in a random and haphazard manner, with servers running around with skewers to our plates even before the first courses arrived. It all seemed like the waiters were incentivized to shove the most food at you at the most rapid pace possible. I felt sad for the wonderful ukelele player who seemed to spend an inordinate time with us because we enjoyed his music and actually paid attention to him! The tables around us treated him like he was a nuisance, distracting them from their feeding frenzy.

Too bad, this place used to be magical - now it is a Golden Corral with coconuts.

“A Wonderful Meal for Mom's 75th”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

My mother & I had a wonderful dinner @ Ohana on Mon, Dec 9th- delicious food, beautiful ambiance! All the food was wonderful- I would recommend to ask for the steak to be cooked medium well. They did it immediately for us. Thanks to our server, Lori who made it special for both of us, especially Mom.

Sincerely,

Lorilee

“Dissapointed”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

We've heard so many great things about Ohana but unfortunately our first experience was not a good one. Our reservation was for 8:30 (which we wanted earlier but 6 months ahead of time we couldn't get an earlier one) So after not being seated until after 9pm our one daughter fell asleep so she didn't even get to eat. We had no idea what kind of food was being served or what to expect. Our waitress didn't explain anything to us so we just kind of waited to see what we got. When the food came out they didn't tell us what it was. The dumplings and lomein were our faves and the salad was amazing. The chicken and steak that came out was overcooked and dry which was disappointing. Our server did not come to our table often and we had had enough and were ready to leave and we just wanted our check. I hadn't seen her anywhere and I said to my husband she's probably on a smoke break. When she finally came back to check on us, needless to say she wreaked of cigarette smoke! We just wanted to go, our other daughter was exhausted and they don't have anything for small children at dinnertime and she didn't like any of the food that came out. So needless to say I am disappointed and this was the only Disney restaurant that we went to and had a bad experience with.
