“Fun but Pricey”
Reviewed December 17, 2013

There were nine of us that attended the 8:30 p.m. Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue on a Friday evening in early December. There were 5 kids, ranging in age from 4 to 11, and 4 adults. Overall we had a good time but for the price we probably won't do this again.

The show was fun. It's designed to include the audience as often as possible. The performers do a good job and really seem to enjoy interacting with the diners. As others have mentioned the whole thing is a little corny but in the best kind of way. It's also designed to allow time for people to eat without the show interfering.

That timing, of course, depends on your server getting everything to you in a timely fashion. Ours ran just slightly behind, and because we were a large-ish group it took a little time to get the kids served, etc., so sometimes we were eating while the shenanigans were going on. Still, the only time it was distracting was during dessert. More about that in a minute.

The food was fairly middle of the road. Nothing exceptional about it, but it was a solid meal. It's served family style, in buckets. And there's a large selection of bottomless drinks. My family doesn't drink alcoholic beverages but there were plenty of other things to choose from.

The dessert is strawberry shortcake served in skillets. You have to cut it up to serve it to the folks at your table. This, for us, was a bit of a mess. We were only about half way through when the show was finished. The servers began furiously cleaning up as soon as people left their tables. This made us feel a bit rushed at the end.

The only real detractor to this experience is the price. Ultimately it's just a dinner show with basic food, and as such it's much more expensive than what I would expect to pay outside of Disney. I'm glad we went once but, as I said, it's not an experience we plan to repeat.

Oh, one more note. The bathrooms are outside the dining room. It's not far but if you have young children you might want to locate them before the meal begins.

“Fabulous night!”
Reviewed December 17, 2013 via mobile

What a great time! The atmosphere from getting there, to checking in, and getting into pioneer hall was so fun. The show was funny and kept us laughing. Our waiter made the whole night even better because he kept messing with my husband. It was good fun. The food was great and we will return on our next trip!

“Excellent food, Excellent entertainment for the family”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

The food was fabulous. They bring buckets (literally) to your table of ribs & chicken, with several yummy side dishes. As much as you like. There is no waiting. The food comes out, then does the entertainment. Several young people putting on skits at are hilarious for the whole family. Sing, dance, jokes & talking. They mingle with the crowd & ask where you are from, visiting your tables etc..... Even my 4yr old & 7yr old had a great time.

So much fun. The fried chicken was excellent and the entertainment was great. Definitely something different to do at Disney, and Ft. Wilderness is such a cozy place. Info on getting there- took the bus to Magic Kingdom then took the boat over to Ft. Wilderness. We had the 8:30 show and they had buses waiting for us to go back to the hotel. There is someone there from transportation to let you know which bus to get on.
