The hotel is beautiful and the staff are very courteous. The "lazy river" swimming pool was a great relief after a day of meetings. However, I found the restaurants very expensive, and the added daily "resort fee" very annoying. Also, the lack of a Business Center with free services for Gold Members was a bad surprise - there is a FedEx "business center" in the hotel, that charges fees for each page printed and each minute spent on the public PCs. Moreover, there was noise at night both from guests partying (may be what you are looking for) and from maintenance/cleaning on the pools being made very late at night (definitely not what you are looking for). Location was OK, but isolated - to get to the nearest outside restaurant you definitely have to drive.
One more thing - parking is expensive. Just do self-parking, and save some cash.

Room Tip: Choose the highest floor they will give you - may give you relief from outside noise.

Stayed for 3 nights with a family. The beautiful lobby was a Wow! when we first entered - the fountain, polished marble, and the smell. The room was smallish, but pleasant, and I'm sure there are bigger ones. :) Good looking bathroom, but unfortunately the shower had a leak, leaving a small puddle of water on the floor after each use. We made sure the door is closed tightly, but it still leaked, causing waste of towels every time. The bed in the room was comfy, with very high quality linens. The grounds outside are superbly maintained. and all of us LOVED the lazy river. The service was good, the people are very friendly. I'd especially mention the good work and efficiency of bell service: we had LOTS of luggage to unload and then load (travelling with small kids!), and these guys helped us a lot with this.

The only negative is what is a feature of any expensive hotel, I think: there's nothing extra that's free (except the pool towels, I suppose. btw, the pool towels seemed to be of much higher quality than the bathroom towels for some reason.). The parking, wi-fi, room service are expensive, as are the restaurants, and even the Starbucks seems to be more expensive than elsewhere. Oh, the water bottles they bring in the rooms were free - nice. And the kids appreciated the little chocolates.

Would love to stay again if have an opportunity.

This is our third trip to WDW in Orlando, but our first trip to use an outside the park "resort". After this experience we will have a hard time staying someplace else. All staff were courteous and very helpful. The rooms were clean, quiet, and well maintained. I wish I knew what the scent we smelled was when we walked into he lobby, it was incredible. I won't forget to mention that a Starbucks is on site! Four restaurants were noted as were multiple other amenities. There are also some bonuses that this resort had that previous places we have stayed did not.

1. Room service basically available 24/7 with decent choices! The prices are a little steep, but I have yet to see somewhere in this town where they aren't. this comes in handy if you are coming home at 01:30am from say WDW or something. Compared to certain places that have a mouse mascot you get more (quality) for your money I think as well. Kudos to maria ( or possibly Marci) who brought our food up one night, she was so nice to my two boys.
2. Booze!!! OMG I need a drink after 12 hours of "it's a small world, under the sea, and Let it go". You can have beer delivered to your room, and they have a bar area that has liquor.
3. the pool is awesome. Three main pool areas with a lazy river connecting all of them that has small waterfalls to harass your children with. Oh yeah live music too, several bars, and an outside restaurant.
4. The drive from JW Marriott to WDW was by guesstimate 10 minutes and with no traffic issues. We used Google maps on our phone and had no issues.
5. We introduced ourselves to the housekeeping staff in order to help them arrange turn down service. Our two little boys of course interjected in order to ask them 30 questions about their personal lives. Housekeeping in return left several gummy bear candy bags for them which made them feel as though they have officially gone to heaven.

All I can say is, what an awesome group. The only way in which I can compare this too is when your friend brings you to a family function and grandma adopts you and makes sure you have the very best experience.

We needed this trip, I especially after such a hard season. Thank you so much! We will be back!

Room Tip: We were ninth floor faced the pool and it was really nice.

We stayed at the JW Marriott for four days in May for a conference--everything about this property was virtually flawless: The grounds are wonderfully landscaped, the pool is phenomenal -- don't miss the lazy river, the service is professional and helpful. The room we stayed in, overlooking the pool, was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Great lobby area and bar, too. Self-parking is fairly easy and close to the hotel entrance.

The wife and I were visiting Orlando to have diner with out son. Since we were close we decided to stay over for the night and combine a little anniversary time also. We booked a night at the JW Marriott and truly enjoyed our stay. The staff were great and the atmosphere really grand. The hotel has much to offer and you can easily stay busy. A late check out was also helpful in making our stay more enjoyable
The only problem we encountered was with the Valet parking. When we retrieved our car the morning we left they brought it too us , they must have parked it under a sprinkler because the car was totally covered in thick nasty water spots. It appears as it was some kind of reclaimed water thus very difficult to remove .I hope they use more care next time. Also not even a mention of any concern from the staff at the Valet area.

Room Tip: get a higher room as we did a GREAT view

We had the opportunity to stay at the JW on a Florida stay-cation. It was recommended by co workers. We are normally "budget minded" travelers so we decided to splurge...how ever, daily self parking fees, resort fee, and out of this world menu pricing ($30 appetizer pool lunch) were a bit too much for us. I'm sure the corporate type and convention attendee do not foot the costs, however, the value was not there for us. The pool and lazy river are very nice, so are the grounds between the JW and the Ritz Carlton. Next time it's the Courtyard or Fairfield Inn for us.

Room Tip: You will pay extra for a pool view.
