“Great hotel next door to the Ritz!”
Reviewed February 20, 2012

Stayed here on a business trip my husband had. It was a lovely hotel. Great service. The pool is very nice with a lazy river. Our kids had a good time. There's beach volleyball, bikes, golfing, etc.... Plus you get to enjoy the activities the Ritz has.check out Bocce ball inbetween the two properties . Make sure your kids roll down the hill at the Ritz. The property is wonderful for those who like to jog or walk. there is a nice trail along the lake. It was also a nice walk for kids, lots of birds and even saw an alligator. The hotel has an organic garden which we really appreciated. The restaurant Primo was excellent! We also attended a gala dinner in one of the ball rooms. The decor was very nice and the food was very good. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the hotel's restaurant. That was our breakfast and lunch. The property also has a Starbucks and small little market with take out items. Great place to stay in Orlando. Great place to host a business meeting.

Having stayed at the newest JW in Indianapolis several months ago, I had high expectations for this JW, and they were met. Didn't I feel special, when I got to meet Mitt Romney, who was also staying at the JW, but then I always meet the most interesting people when staying with Marriott.

From the signature scent in the lobby to the well appointed rooms with incredible views to the friendly, attentive staff, this hotel is first class all the way. Our waiter in The Citron, Alberto, was extremely attentive and helpful each morning at the bountiful breakfast buffet. He brought Chef Jeffrey out to personally attend to my food allergies.

I definitely will stay here again on my next trip to Orlando, and I will be making every effort to stay with Marriott when I travel.

Room Tip: My room had an awesome view of the Lazy River pool and The Ritz Golf Course. At night, Disneyworld...

One of the advantages of staying in hotels whilst working is collecting points and then using them in fabulous hotels such as this. What an amazing, luxurious hotel. Best American breakfast I've had. Went for a 6am run around the grounds which were amazing. Everything about this hotel is luxurious.

For the rates of this hotel, you would think that guest could expect a warm shower. Two of the four mornings that we were there, the shower was ICE cold! The second morning I called the "At your service" line and was told that the cause was "because of a cold snap that had come through area". This was a new one.... I would hope that the facilities management of this facility would investigate the issue. Upon check out, the clerk never asked how our stay was. Beautiful hotel, just needs improvement on the service area.

Room Tip: Do not stay on upper floors if you want hot water. I asked others in our group and they were on low...

Okay, it's a Marriott resort hotel, so you expect the best, and that is what you get. But, the best of all is the Lazy River. This is where the swimming pools flows into a concrete "river" surrounded by lush gardens and waterfalls. Grab a swimming tube and a cocktail and float down the"river". There are many places along the "river" where you can get out and refresh your drink. It flows right back to where you started. We prefer to do this in the evening when the kids are in bed. This Marriott is connected via an enclosed walkway to the Ritz next door. I love just walking through the Ritz and looking at the antiques and artwork they have on display. The Ritz has a great martini bar, and a spa to die for. For a quiet lunch, go over to the restaurant at the golf course and sit out on the veranda.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view over the pool or golf course.

It really seems that Marriott is going the extra mile on customer service these days. We stayed at the JW for the weekend and enjoyed excellent customer from all aspects of the property. From the valet, to the bellman and our check-in was more than excellent!

This is a great property, with great restaurants and overall a five star experience. I would strongly recommend considering this for any type of travel. Business or pleasure.
