“Great place to stay”
Reviewed July 14, 2014

This accommodation is very easy to get to and is within easy reach of Lake Buena Vista areas and all the theme parks.
The complex is made up of a number of apartment blocks, each four floors high, there are elevators and stairs to each floor.
There is a main reception area nearest the main entrance, which houses shop, coffee shop, gym etc, there is a pool at the rear of this reception block.
We stayed in room 224, which overlooks another block but has a side view of the lake. The apartment was really very nice, it was clean, with two bedrooms both with en-suit, there is a kitchen and dining area, lounge with a very large TV, there is another large TV in the master bedroom, which also has a jacuzzi, shower, safe, etc.
We stayed for two weeks in June, during that time the apartment was cleaned four times, with new towels, soaps etc provided. On your arrival you also get a tea/coffee pack.
The apartment also comes with a screened balcony with patio furniture, (four chairs, table and a sun bed), which is a lovely place to enjoy your breakfast, sitting in the sun and not being bothered by unwanted insects.
On site there is also a restaurant, we ate in there at breakfast time and had an evening meal. The food and service was very good.
There is no free WiFi, you have to pay for it either daily or weekly, l think l paid about $39 for seven days.
There is a Walmart about a mile away on Turkey Lake Road.
The only down side to this venue, was the lack of parking at night, especially when you have been out at the theme parks and arrive back late. A number of nights we and other guests, were having problems trying to find a place to park. During the day, there isn't a problem, its just that there are not enough parking spots for the amount of accommodation. That is the only reason why l haven't rated the property with five stars.

Thank you for such a fantastic review! It’s great to hear you loved every aspect of your stay from the details of the unit to the activities and amenities we offer on-site. We are also located close to the area theme parks and offer a free shuttle service as well! We want to assure you that we care about each of our guests and we do everything we can to accommodate them. Unfortunately, with the size of our resort, parking can become an issue and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that may cause. We want to thank you for letting us know about your issue as we take all of our guests’ comments into consideration. Thank you again and we look forward to serving you again.

Nice resort. Too crowded. No wifi 9 95 a day. Watch out fir the timeshare pitch. Good location close to everything delicatessen on site excellent. Pool's too crowded too many kids you must search for a not occupied by kids. Still very friendly willing to answer any questions. Order towels has a follow up call asking me if everything was okay. Service I say is excellent there. Room nice a little dirty but very good. Have a nice view of the lake

I'm a westgate owner & we decided to take a trip to Orlando on an off week. In the 12 years of being an owner & staying at westgate, I have never seen the "B" rooms that are considered standard rooms. It's a hotel room, with a fridge & stove top cooker! Very small & not what I expected for $97/night. Make sure you double check that you aren't getting the 400 square ft room as they are not accommodating. The kids did enjoy the pool activities & visiting the ice cream shop, daily!! Wish there would have been more pool options as the 2 main pools were packed full.

This is my third time in Florida I have stayed at the Westgate palace twice and this is out first time at the lakes.I have learnt a lot during these holidays, I think experiences for you will be different depending on what part of the resort you are staying.at and the room you book
On arrival I requested a lake view one bed deluxe villa which has recently had a refurb. The other view faces turkey lake road which is very busy and not particularly pleasant to look at unless you like traffic .It seems the deluxe rooms are the ones everyone is so positive about. I spoke to someone who was staying facing the road and her room needed updating so my top tip is ;request lake views and if you can afford it pay for the deluxe room it is the key to a great holiday.
.Reception is very very busy. It is a very large resort I think it has 2000 rooms. Complex has golf cars that whizz you around to your room. They offer you a bell boy service please take this as the complex is really large and if you do it on your own you will get lost. Obviously , there is a tip involved but believe me you will be glad you paid it. When we went out our first evening and returned it took as ages to find our building the place is huge, Staff are very pleasant and helpful.

Staff do try to get you to have a free breakfast which really is timeshare selling pitch. We had bought all our Disney and attraction tickets from the uk so we didn't get seduced by the free tickets they offer if you go to the talk.

We where shown to our suite. Which was beautiful. Lovely view Jacuzzi in bedroom , bathroom was spacious with a double shower room. Very clean .
Bedroom was so comfy a queen sized bed with lots of pillows . Suite sleeps four .Good large telly in bedroom and very large one in front room .Great for the world cup. Dvd player, ipod dock .Only down side is the cost of internet every device has to pay approx $40 .We had two devices and stayed for two weeks. Not much for us but if you are a family of four it is going to add to your budget.
It has a well equipped kitchen with adequate cutlery pots and pans. Very easy to use dishwasher and washing machine.Iron ,ironing board
Our housekeeping was fantastic, Very good staff who cleaned wonderfully. Well made beds, clean towels very day.
The suite has a netted terrace, vey nice to have this additional space to eat outside and enjoy cocktails..It has lights so you can enjoy it in the evening and a plug so you can charge your devices whilst sitting on the balcony.
The resort has so many activities but we didnt use any of the facilities apart from the wonderful spa .Highly recommend their treatments. The lake view is wonderful and it offers water sports
It was a lovely place to stay .
My tip would be request the newly reburbed part and lake views if your budget allows pay for deluxe.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher level this will reduce the noise of people coming and going

We didn't book as we didn't know how long we would have in Orlando, so called in and asked for two bed condo which we got. The condo was fantastic, large, and had well stocked kitchen area, washer, drier, sunken bath(!), one colossal bed and twin beds in other room. I would recommend to families as lots of activities available on the site, but the traffic does make it a bit hazardous for young kids. I would have marked this as excellent but there was a very "dodgy" looking mark on the sheet - which wasn't changed. Used towels were left on the floor (we hadn't put them there as we were happy to use them again and left them hung up - but obviously not once they had been on the floor!). Not the cheapest around, but I would recommend.

Room Tip: Get a high room if you can as noise for other guests could get annoying I think (we were on the top...

If you want a "Disney Experience" then this is not the place for you to stay. However, if you are not going to only Disney parks, budget is a factor, and you need lots of space, this place is for you.

The location is great and very close to most attractions. (I would not stay here if you don't have a car, but I heard parking late at night can be a challenge. We never had a problem.)

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa that was very spacious. There were 5 of us and we all had plenty of room. The room was nicely appointed, but I ended up not letting my son sleep on the pull out sofa as he was supposed to. The leather couch was fine but the pull-out bed didn't look great, very worn. (The rest of the villa was very clean including the bathrooms.)

I requested a ground floor room because my uncle can not do stairs. This request was granted. (The elevators were small, and dated. I was very happy not to have to use them.)

We checked in after 11pm and the whole process took no more than 10 minutes even after visiting both counters. I did not go in the main lobby for the rest of the week and did not encounter any on the sales team during my whole stay.

Depending on where your room is, you might have a longer walk to the pools and some are quieter than others.

We did not have housekeeping services but the towels were changed once during the week. You could ask for more, but since there was a washer and drier in the room, I just found it easier to wash them myself.

All our appliances worked and and screened in porch was nice. We had updated furniture on our patio but when you walk the resort, you can tell that not all rooms do. The only issue was that it could be a bit loud on the patio since we were on the ground floor and the air conditioning units were right outside. (They were hidden in landscaping.)

I love staying on Disney or Universal property. For this trip to Florida, it was not practical. Westgate Lakes met all our needs for this trip, and we had a great stay.

We appreciate your response concerning your stay with us. Your feedback always allows us to know how the resort is doing overall. Most of our units come with a fully equipped kitchen and screened in porches. This will depend on the specific type of unit booked. It’s always our pleasure to meet and exceed all guests and owners expectations. We hope you had a great stay and look forward to your return.
