“Great service”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Wife and I stayed in a club level room for our anniversary. The room was nice but nothing exceptional except the the bed and bedding which were very comfortable. The club room always had an assortment of snacks and drinks available. We did eat here for breakfast and lunch. The selection can be limited so don't plan to eat here throughout your stay. The food was pretty good. The thing that sets this place apart is the service. It is outstanding and the staff is friendly and helpful. Always a can do attitude. Not somewhere I would stay every time but worth it for a nice splurge. Grounds are manicured. Pool is rather plain (no water slides) so kids may get bored. Overall a lovely place to spend a few days.

Clean, large comfortable room, very good in-room dining (came in late and had to have dinner). Service was very good and the grounds were great for relaxing. Conference facilities were very nice. Only issue was internet connection on my last night. It slowed to a crawl and while the tech staff were very diligent in trying to address the issue it was never fully resolved but I can't really fault the hotel

My husband and I stayed here for a few days in February for a conference. I was pleasantly surprised by some things about it, and had some negative expectations confirmed in other ways. My negative expectation was that Orlando in general, and all the hotels there, primarily cater to families with children, so that it wouldn't suit adults who prefer peace and quiet (like me).

On the upside, the room we had (on one of the club floors) was very nice, and the staff were excellent: warm, professional, and efficient. The bed was really comfortable, the bathroom was luxurious, and comfort items like the thermostat and the light-blocking drapes that can sometimes cause problems all worked perfectly here. There was food and drink available in the club lounge all day, including a full breakfast buffet that was much better than the usual hotel breakfast buffet. The hotel offered more activities than I expected, including ones I would have loved to try if I had the time: guided kayaking through the adjacent nature preserve, for example. And the grounds of the resort this hotel shares with the JW Marriott were beautiful: multiple pools, nice plantings, a lovely lake, etc. Not everything about the grounds and decoration will appeal to everyone's taste (the fountain and a few other features could stand to be toned down a bit as far as I'm concerned) but that's true anywhere, and I think the majority of people will find it just fine.

On the downside, the one thing I most wanted to do--relax and read by the pool in peace and quiet--was impossible because, despite three separate pools spread across the grounds of the two hotels and spa, there was not a single place without noise. It was either music playing over the loudspeakers (the spa), kids making the usual noise kids make when they're playing in pools (the pool at the Ritz), or both (the pool at the Marriott). I was disappointed that I couldn't find a single area of any of the pools set aside for peace and quiet.

Likewise, two out of three mornings, a quiet breakfast in the club lounge wasn't possible because families with kids were there. The kids weren't unreasonably rambunctious--they were just normal kids, being kids, which means a bit louder, more active, and less controlled than the average adult. Nothing wrong with it, but again, not a quiet, peaceful environment.

I recently found an article about things for adults to do in Orlando that suggested this hotel as a place to stay if you're visiting without kids. Unfortunately, I can't agree. In fact, if this is as close as it gets to a relaxing destination for adults in Orlando, I'd say I'll have to go with my prior opinion about Orlando as a whole, as well as this hotel specifically: it may be nice for families with younger children, but adults traveling without kids and seeking relaxation should go elsewhere.

Excellent restaurants here as expected. I have stayed here a few times for weekend getaways and it's always a pleasure. The service always impeccable, the beds and rooms always comfortable, and the pool always relaxing. Their 4th of July celebration (along with JW Marriott next door) is the best I have ever seen. Highly recommend this hotel. Excellent customer service from valet to housekeeping.

Labor day weekend was a Bliss ♥. We spent a 3 day weekend of fun, food, spa and water. I did book the trip in advance online with the Ritz. I selected a package for the 3 days which included breakfast for 2 days and a trip to the Mall. This location is fantastic and will keep coming back... Promise :)

This is a beautiful property. Plenty of seating at the pool and you don't feel like you are crammed in. the restaurants are good and you can also rat at the Marriot which is adjacent and connected by walkways. The staff is extremely accommodating and pleasant.

I attend regular conferences at this resort and all I can say is they continue to impress. The staff is super friendly and attentive, rooms are gorgeous and immaculately clean, and the room service has some of the best hotel food I've had. The grounds and pool are absolutely spectacular and the bar and lounge area are great for a night cap. This is a classic example of you get what you pay for and what you get is a fabulous experience every time. This is one business trip location I actually look forward to visiting.
