We arrived in Orlando pretty late in the evening, and my husband wondered if the hotel would have room service. I just assumed it would, since it's so highly rated on trip advisor. However, upon arrival, we realized that the hotel was not quite at the caliber we'd expect from other highly rated tripadvisor hotels. We walked into the hotel at precisely the same time as ~60 pre-teen girls. Thankfully, they weren't checking in and so we were only inconvenienced by taking the stairs due to the long elevator line. Also, the hotel staff assured us we weren't staying on the same floor as them (he seemed mildly annoyed as well).
Otherwise, the hotel was fine but not quite what I expected. I had forgotten that most people staying in this area are families with screaming kids so the bar is probably different for them. We also didn't spend much time in the hotel, and there were plenty of dinner options around, even though few were gourmet (fast food heaven anyone?). The hotel was also very conveniently located relative to Universal (our destination was HP world) and offered shuttle service (which we didn't use because we went early). All in all, I suppose it was a decent stay. I think my husband would have preferred to stay at one of the onsite hotels but I really didn't think they were worth forking over $300+ per night.More
