“Excellent hotel for everyone!”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

Stayed here last week for 2 nites. I selected this hotel because it was ranked as the #1 hotel for Orlando on TripAdvisor. Arrived at the hotel much earlier than check-in, and was greeted by a lovely lady named Dorothy. She quickly checked us in and gave us immediate access to our room. Dorothy gave us an overview of the hotel's amenities, such as the complimentary breakfast and happy hour snacks and drinks. Both the breakfast and happy hour provided a wonderful selection of foods and beverages. The room was in excellent condition and extremely clean. While located near a busy intersection, didn't hear a thing due to amazing sound-proofing. The business center had 4 computers for use, the pool area was a decent size and very nice to relax by. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. The manager was present and mingling with hotel guests and ensuring they were enjoying their stay; so nice to see! Will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family who are travelling to Orlando. Hotel is perfectly located with easy access to tourist attractions, shopping, and restaurants.

After reading many of the fabulous reviews, we decided to add an extra night to our Orlando stay prior to moving to Disney. It was a good choice, but we should have requested a room on the side of the hotel away from the highway, as my husband and I were both bothered by highway noise! If you read no further, that is the most important piece of advice I can give!

The hotel is new and the lobby area was clean and well appointed. We had two kids with us, so we chose a two room suite which was very spacious and clean. Truly our only issue with the room itself was traffic noise. The shower had great pressure, and the water was hot! The boys enjoyed the pool, though the indoor area of the pool had a strong chemical smell (went outside instead)! The hot tub was packed with people, so we did not try it.

Shortly after checking in we went to the evening "Kickback". It could have been an off night (a Sunday), but there were some odd issues. The items included chicken fingers, mac & cheese, baked potatoes, fresh vegies sticks, and hot dogs. The baked potato looked tasty, but after taking one I came to realize there was no butter, no sour cream, nothing to put on it! The boys and my husband took hot dogs, but there were no buns, no mustard, no onions.

When I returned to see if they had put out anything for my now cold potato, I saw that they had put out buns, so I grabbed 3 for the guys. The kids laughed as they were so dry and hard they could not eat them! The cut vegies were also dry and room temp. They obviously had been sitting out for a very long time. I should note we got there right after they began serving, so everything should have been at its' freshest.

We enjoyed our included cocktail, but the food needs some work. Breakfast was better than the kickback as everything was hot and kept replenished even with the food area crazy full of guests! It appeared that many familiies were making the kickback their dinner...was not an option for us!

Having been to Disney 4 times in the last year, the question we discussed was would we stay here instead of staying at one of the value Disney hotels (where our room was smaller, but substantially less per night). We had to say that inspite of the free food and larger room, we would not. The transportation and convenience of staying at Disney outweighed the other factors for us. It was fine for us for one night, but we would not use it as a destination hotel.

Room Tip: Select a room on the side opposite of the highway!

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights in November 2012. Room price was 105 USD excl. taxes. No "Resort-Fees" are charged here, unlike in the upscale places closer to Disney etc. !!

The hotel is very conveniently located just off I4 highway at exit 74A, and therefore is no further than 3-10 miles away from all the Orlando attractions. The two main outlet-malls are equally close by-the airport is a 20 min drive away.

We were able to get our room early at 11 am which was very convenient. The rooms are of good size, modern and really new. The bed, mattress' and the linen were outstanding and far beyond expectations for a hotel from this category.
Though our room was highway facing there was very little noise coming from there.

Breakfast was great in a large country kitchen like atmosphere and included. Wifi was available everywhere - even in the rooms.

The staff was very friendly.

Overall a great place to stay a very good value for money.

I booked this hotel after cancelling another one that had terrible reviews on Tripadvisor. After only being open for 4 months this hotel was rated number one in Orlando on trip advisor so decided to book it for our 4 night stay. Plenty of parking, and when we walked into the foyer, it was clean and welcoming. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. We had been given a family room on the second floor, but when I asked for a room where we could see the firworks from Disney at night, we were immediately moved to a room on the 8th floor which had a great view. The rooms were spacious, clean, warm, and cozy. The bathroom was large, and immacuately clean. The shower has 3 large dispensers attached to the wall containing, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, so there is not need to pack any of these things. Also the beds are firm and extremely comfortable, in fact they are the best beds I have ever slept in at a hotel, no creaking, lumps or saggyness!!! The breakfast was good, and the kids especially loved making their own waffles in the large waffle irons. There is free popcorn and soda for the kids most of the day, and from 5.30 til 7.00 they have the 5.30 Kickback, where you can have free food and drinks. It is just the basics like hotdogs and nibbles, but every adult gets a card so you can have 3 free alcolholic drinks at the bar, including a range of cocktails which were very nice, believe me!!!! There are also free local calls and "international calls" (which is not actually international as we expected, I think it covers some of the further US states) Lovely pool, jacuzzi, small workout room, also a room with pc's so you can get on the internet or check e-mails etc. Also they run a free return shuttle service to all the main local parks (you need to book at reception) which is great. This is the perfect place to relax after a long day at the parks. Quiet, clean, and friendly. Would definately recommend, and would definately stay here again. Thankyou Drury Inn!!!!!!

Room Tip: We stayed on the 8th floor on the back corner of the hotel so we could see the firework display from...

We checked in for one night .were told we could make free calls home with a limited to max 1 hr .turns out front desk staff weren't correct .was only for 10 min. Breakfast was very carb based so didn't eat it. Room was cream & nice but noisy from the highway being close by. This is a great place for families on a budget

Room Tip: Get one at the back of the hotel

We stayed here last week for four nights and absolutely love the place. The reception staff were very attentive, knowledgeable and the duty manager could often be seen checking up on the food area and at one point serving behind the bar (the sign of a good manager - one who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty !!). Our room was spacious and the 'King' bed wonderfully comfortable, the bathroom was well equipped and serviced with toiletries. The standard of housekeeping was high, the food was excellent and the pool & hot-tub were very clean. We will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family and to anyone thinking of going to the Orlando area. Polystyrene plates and plastic cutlery slightly spoil the high quality feel of this hotel but it seems to be the norm in Orlando hotels. Wouldn't stop us going back again though.
