We have stayed at the Beach Club Villas many, many times. We have never had less than a wonderful experience. Our last stay was in January of 2007. We had another trip planned for October 2007, but we decided to do Sandals Royal Caribbean instead. We will be returning to our "home away from home" from January 19-26, 2008. We can't wait!!
The BCV (Beach Club Villas) are perfect for couples or families travelling with children. It is great for all ages. Kids will love Stormalong Bay, the massive sand bottom pool complex. There is so much for kids of all ages. Our oldest daughter (age 11) loves the pirate ship waterslide. Our middle daughter (age 7) loves just lounging on a tube in the lazy river part of swimming around and for our youngest daughter (age 2), there is a zero-entry wading area as well as a sperate kiddie area. There is a snack bar (Hurrican Hannahs) and Beaches and Cream right there for snacks and grilled items. The smaller, quieter pool outside the villas is also very nice and clean, perfect for after dinner and late night swims. The hot tub is large and quiet for the most part as well.
We enjoy the BCV for its close proximity to everything. We walk to MGM Studios and Epcot. For those not wanting or unable to walk, there is a boat service as well, but the walk to Epcot is less than 10 minutes and the walk to MGM is less than 20 (for those travelling with kiddies. If you're not, the walk is definitely quicker). The Boardwalk is right across the bay, accessible by bridge in a 5 minute walk. There is quite a lot of entertainment there at night for families and plenty of places to eat. We have enoyed eating at Spoodles and the ESPN Zone there and the bakery for goodies.
The BCV has a great character buffet breakfast in the morning. The staff is always kind and accessible. Once, we needed a new toaster so we called and they were in our room within minutes.
We have never had a problem. In fact, the staff goes above and beyond for the guests. We have had to move to Saratoga halfway through our vacation because the BCV weren't available for all of the nights we needed, and the staff moved all of our luggage and our food!!!! They kep our food in fridges and it was cold when they arrived at Saratoga!! What more can you ask for?
I highly recommend Beach Club Villas ... I really recommend joing the DVC. It pays for itself!!

We are Disney Vacation Club members and this was our first time at this resort. It exceeded our expectations. We had a one bedroom villa that was in great shape. I did not notice any major signs of wear and tear in our room at all. The carpets in all the hallways have been replaced within the past month or two - I know that had been a complaint of some people in the past. But I was prepared for our room to look a little worn due to reviews on this site and a few others. NOT THE CASE! Everything was perfect. First we were assigned a room that was very, very far from the elevators so we requested a room closer because we have two very young children and they were able to accomodate us right away.
The pool at this resort makes the vacation. There are 3 very large swimming areas, but the best is the one that has a beach in the middle. That area is shallow and was fine for our almost 2 year old to play in with swimmies on her arms. Of course we were always with her, but it was a breeze. The slide is amazing. There is a lazy river in the main pool area you can float in for a few spins. They also had pool games every day for the kids and adults (mostly kids) to play in. Every night, they have a bonfire on the beach and sing songs and yo can roast marshmallows (for $7, I don't think so!) but the singing was fun for the kids. Then, they play a movie on the beach at night as well. FUN FUN FUN!
The grounds at this hotel are meticulously maintained, its just very peaceful and beautiful.
Try some pina coladas at the pool bar, Hurricana Hanna's! They rick! But have them add a Myers Rum floater....uh - YUMMO!
The boat access to the parks is very easy too. We never had to take a bus, so I don't know how that would be.
Lastly, the staff at this hotel was the best. They went out of their way to make sure we were having a good time. Everyone was so friendly! Lilo & Stitch were in the lobby for several hours every afternoon playing with the kids coming in the lobby area.
We cannot wait to go back to this resort again & again! Thanks Beach Club for a truly INCREDIBLE family vacation!

Our first family trip to Disneyworld and I wasn't sure what to expect after reading some terrible reviews online. So I had moderate- low expectations about our visit. Well I was surprised, everything other than a slight hiccup on our room reservation when we checked in - went smoothly. Magical Express was wonderful, got our bags within 3 hours in our room - not the long wait as some commented here. The villas were clean, not worn as I had been reading and our 1 bedroom was roomy for the four of us. Everything was well kept up and didn't look like an old property. The walk to the pool wasn't too far at all from our villa and the pool is awesome. It was the highlight of our trip with our 1 year old and 5 year old girls. The buses were fast and efficient. We never waited more than 5-10 minutes to catch one to a park. And best of all, the walk to Epcot - how wonderful to just walk up about a 5 minute walk to enter the park. Plus the friendly staff - we were impressed especially with the patient gals who folded towels into animals (free) for the kiddos in the lobby -nice touch. Everyone greeted us just fine. Loved the marketplace where you can grab a quick bite to eat - sandwiches though pricey were quite good and gourmet. Beaches and Cream soda shop was excellent and well-priced. Cape May Cafe was decent but we aren't big buffet eaters. Walk to boardwalk was very nice and we could have coffee and watch the magic kingdom fireworks from there. Again, location was great. We wanted to be able to walk to a park - like Epcot and it was a perfect location for us. I highly recommend the beach club villas and the beach club in general - the pool was wonderful and worth the trip alone. We will definitely come back!

Rented a villa direct from a timeshare owner.. Saved oodles of
money - I believe we paid less than half of what the hotel room rate would have been. We had a studio villa - in the world of Disney - this is basically a hotel room with a small refrigerator,
wet bar sink, microwave, and toaster. It would have been very
difficult to actually attempt to prepare a meal........
Thankfully, we had purchased the Disney Dining Plan, so food
prep was not an issue. As an aside, I cannot recommend strongly enough the dining plan!! It was so convenient, and we
certainly never went hungry!!! However, this was our third visit to Disney in as many years, so we were not part of the mad dash to see every attraction...
The grounds of the Beach Villas are very nice, well kept....
the water slide at the main pool area can keep a child entertained for many hours. My husband and I far preferred the private "Villa Pool" - of course, no waterslide!! But, for peace and quiet, and the ability to actually secure a chair, it's great!
We had the character breakfast buffet at the Cape May Cafe -
I highly recommend this ! Food choices were plentiful, there was something to satisfy everyone. Reservations are a must to get in here, however....
I would agree with other reviews indicating the condition of the
villas starting to deteriorate - a renovation/remodel is definitely in order.... The rooms are clean, and acceptable - but for a Disney property(and Disney prices), I would consider them substandard.

Our family vacation to Disney World was NOT my idea of a relaxing vacation. But staying at the Beach Club Villas turned out to be the best of the Disney "world." After reading reviews about "rundown, shabby rooms," I was concerned. I was worried for nothing. While apparent roofing was going on in one unoccupied section of the Beach Club (adjacent to Villas) there was carpet replacement going on in some of Villas hallways including our floor. You couldn't find a nicer group of workmen. They were quiet, extremely neat, always said "hello" and never upset your walks down the hall during their work day. Our studio room was just right for my husband, me and 13 year-old son. I was surprised there were only paper plates and plastic wear in the mini-kitchen. We did have to ask for more coffee packets and plastic wear during our 6-night stay. Many people complained about the long walk from the Villas to the hotel area and the pool. Disney does everything BIG! It's not an intimate resort. You have to walk to get everywhere. If you don't like walking; don't choose Disney. The Ship Shape health club was fantastic with more than a dozen cardio machines; ample weight machines and free weights and mats and pilates balls along with whirlpool, steam and sauna rooms. I visited three times during our stay. You can even get a card to swipe yourself in outside of the 6 a.m.-9 p.m. hours. The three-acre Stormalong Bay pool is the heartbeat of the place for families. For a hot August visit to Disney World, it was wonderful for the three of us to come back to the huge free-formed pool with awesome pirate-ship-like slide and kids pool games in the afternoon. There are also quiet pools; one each for the Villas and hotel. The Cape May Cafe's nightly clam bake was outstanding. All the disney dining was great ESPECIALLY with the Dining Plan. For our family of 3, the approximate $100 per day cost was well worth it. There are no menu restrictions, especially at the casual dining and Signature dining experiences. It's SO much food that we sometimes got TWO meals and that was enough for the three of us. We added up the cost of our 4 casual dining and one signature dining experience (Signature Dining =2 casual dining credits) and they paid for the cost of the dining plan. Tax and Tip is included; alcoholic beverages are NOT included. We ended our 6-night stay with two quick service meals and three snacks unused. There are dozens of Disney Dining choices, so you do NOT have to eat burgers and fries for a week. Salads, wraps, low fat muffins, fruit smoothies are all part of the plan. Do stay away from Restaurantesaurus in Animal Kingdon's Dinoland. It is really a McDonald's, though I did find a veggie burger. The Hollywood and Vine character lunch buffet at MGM was outstanding as was the upscale (Signature Dining) Flying Fish on the Boardwalk across from the Beach Club. Be sure to ask for any substitutions that you might want such as getting a salad and shrimp cocktail from an appetizer menu at dinner instead of dessert. You could get very fat on this plan if you let yourself go!
Disney and their cast members go out of their way to make you happy and welcomed at every turn. ASK for what you want or need and they will probably find a magical way to make just about anything happen for you.
