I’m reviewing this hotel for the second time as I feel it deserves all the credit it can get. I stayed here with my boyfriend this past week (07/29/2019-08/02/2019) and we enjoyed it sooo much! We are annual pass holders for theme parks and try to stay close by to the parks. The hotel is only about a 10 min [or less] drive from universal. It is next to the ICON 360 Park and overall has a great location. The hotel itself is great. I recently got lasik eye surgery done and needed to do warm compressions twice as a day. I called the week before check in to see if a microwave and fridge would be in our rooms. We had a King size room and they advise they do not have microwaves and fridges already inside but if we request it at check in they will place some there for us (they only come already in the Queen/Doubles rooms). We did and they called about twice to ensure we had the fridge and microwave. It was very kind of them to continue to check on whether or not they had delivered them yet. They brought them in within the first 3 hours. Additionally, we had a rollaway crib in our room that seemed to accidentally be left there. The woman who brought us the microwave quickly took it out to avoid any inconvenience - although we weren’t bothered by it. Their service is great! Additionally, the food at this hotel is sooo amazing! We had ordered a Chipotle Chicken Sandwich (3 times in total, LOL) and it was so delicious every time! We also tried the Chocolate Ganache Cake and it was very good. If you go down to the restaurant, they serve it with fresh strawberries and what seemed to be a melted marshmallow cream. If you order room service it is just the cake and whipped cream. We also ate dinner there one night as it was pouring outside. We ordered the Mac and cheese as an appetizer to try between the both of us and it was pretty good also, I wouldn’t say the best though. Then, I ate a burger which was stupendous and my boyfriend had a pizza which he said was also good! On another night we decided to go down again for some drinks just to do something while it rained. We ordered 2 drinks, a vodka tonic and a Cuban mojito. The waitress who was serving us did such a bad job. We had her earlier that day when I went down for just a chocolate cake to satisfy my craving and tried to look past her bad service as it was pretty busy. However, this time it was just us 2, one other table, and the people sitting at the actual bar. The bartender took care of the people at the bar and our waitress was in charge of the two tables (3 people total). She did such a bad job. I ordered a water and she only brought my boyfriend his drink.. I then decided to have a mojito and it took literally 25 minutes to get it. After about 20 min I was the one who asked her where it was and she responded “yup just waiting on it”. As a waitress, I feel you should be the one check on it if you see it hasn’t been done. Anyway, got the mojito and it didn’t taste that good. Drank it anyway and called it a night. Before paying the check I asked for a water again and finally got it. Our other waitress when we ordered the burger/pizza was a lot better. She was the bartender handling the bar and the waitress. She did a great job at handling both roles that night. Despite the bad experience this hotel is still a 5/5 to me. You never know what could’ve been happening that day to the waitress or maybe she was new. The hotel is also nice and clean. The beds were comfortable and the lobby is extremely beautiful. I love the layout of this hotel as well. The rooms are all surrounding an elevator that has a clear casing. So many strange things have happened over times at hotels and this layout makes it feel a lot safer. We didn’t get to walk around outside much but they do have a nice pool area with a tiki like bar next to it. They have a nice outdoor lounging area as well. Overall, the service, food and location in this hotel are great! Unfortunately the only photos I got were the menu!
