“A Comfortable Room After a Long Day at the Park”
Reviewed April 12, 2012

We decided to go to Universal last minute during spring break and this was the only place we could find to stay that was close and reasonably priced. The hotel is nice, with a nicely decorated lobby and a beautiful salt water pool, but could rooms could use a little sprucing up. It was comfortable and very clean, but the carpet and bathroom fixtures needed to be updated and our desk chair was broken. All of the employees we had contact with were very pleasant. I would definitely stay there again.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I have never stayed at a Crowne Plaza. The front desk staff are professional and pleasant. The rooms are very spacious, and there are in-house and nearby dining options.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the elevator (the walls are a little thin).

Stayed for abut 4 days. The staff were very welcoming on our arrival and thereafter. They were very eager to share information when we had questions. The rooms were clean, the bed comfy.
The cocktails in the bar were really good as was the ambiance.
The pool was nice and clean as were the surroundings.
The food in the restaurant was just okay, but I would recommend the seafood and steak place around the corner (within walking distance). There's also a breakfast spot around the corner too, a little further from the hotel, but still in walking distance.

My husband recently worked at the NPE Trade Show at the Convention Center. We stayed at the Crown Plaza Universal and were treated liked royalty. We were staying on the Executive Level which had very spacious rooms and a very nice free continental breakfast and a happy hour in the evening with beer and appetizers. If you want to go out to restaurants to eat, it is conveinetly located near Sand Lake Road which has a mecca of restaurants to choose from. We also ate at the hotel and the food was really good not typical of hotel food. The hotel is well maintained and the pool area was adequate for sunning and cooling off in the pool. I could find no real fault with the hotel itself. Try it, you'll like it!

Room Tip: Try to stay on the executive level. Rooms are larger and the bathrooms are big as well, even has a...

I recently stayed at the Crowne Plaza Orlando for four nights. The hotel was very clean and the employees went out of their way to make you feel welcome. We were on the executive level where they offer a free continental breakfast every morning and appetizers and beer in the evenings, this was a very nice feature and the attendents in the room were very pleasant. The tiki bar out by the pool is great, the food is better than average for a poolside bar, the only problem with the bar is the price of the drinks, they are quite pricey and if you find yourself having a really good time you may find yourself with a large bar tab. Overall this is a great place to stay, would definately stay here again.

Room Tip: We had a room on the 14th floor overlooking the pool and you could see downtown Orlando. have no ide...

A reasonably big hotel which follows the same standards and design of many Crowne Plaza hotels. It is ~13 floors high where I believe the views are great, however my room was on floor 2 so I can’t comment.
My room was a standard exec room with king sized bed. It was perfectly adequate and everything was clean and worked as it should. The TV was a flat screen of ~37" but the selection of channels available was quite limited.
It felt like the hotel was built circa 1990 and with the exception of the TV's hasn't been updated since and the bathrooms are a little tierd. Don't get me wrong here, it's anything but shabby, but it doesn't have some of the wow of newer hotels.
The Breakfast is a standard buffet affair but for some strange reason they do not put bread out with the breakfast? no rolls or toast etc. there are the std pastries and fruit, and a specialist egg cook - which is a nice touch. If you want bread - or toast, these are available, but you have to ask.
The staff during my stay were all very helpful polite and the concierge was very knowledgeable.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room in the main tower. The atrium if quite impressive.

Took my wife and 9 year-old grandson to Orlando for Spring Break. Two days at Disney, two days at Universal Studios and one day at Legoland. This is a great hotel property and the people treat you like kings and queens. Excellent service from front desk, although I did find the concierge somewhat lacking in knowledge. Pool and bar area are very nice...much needed after 12 hours at a theme park. Marta and Leslie are great ambassadors for the hotel.
I'd recommend it for that type of vacation to anyone.
