We were forced to evacuate our home near Tampa On the Thursday before hurricane Irma hit Florida. We needed to find refuge and had a difficult time since we were traveling with 2 dogs. At that point, all pet friendly hotels across Florida and other states were booked.

Miraculously, we found Comfort Suites in Orlando on a pet friendly hotel search. We asked what the pet policy was and what the added costs were. They explained to us that they are typically not a pet friendly hotel, but made an exception to help accommodate those who were in need.

From the moment we arrived until we checked out, each and every member of the staff was professional, courteous and went out above and beyond for each and every guest. We were amazed that a staff that is not used to accommodating pets were so welcoming. A lot of extra work goes into having pets in a hotel. Extra cleaning etc.

On top of that, these staff members were also dealing with the hurricane preparation with their own families. However. we never sensed anything less than full dedication and commitment of helping us. At every turn, these folks went above and beyond in more way that I can list.

My wife and I are both in the service industry and know the importance of customer service. I am sure that many of you reading this are also in similar careers. Had this staff not provided the level or control, service and organization during this trying time, the experience could have been much different. The utmost respect and thanks goes out to Comfort Suites, owners, management team, maintenance, housekeeping and front desk personnel.

In addition, although the demand for hotels was very high at this time, Comfort Suites offered very reasonable rates and did not raise rates to be greedy.

We highly recommend this hotel to everyone!!! Enjoy you stay as much as we did..

In anticipation of power loss from Hurricane Irma, I booked this hotel through another booking website for a suite from 09/12/17-09/15/17. When I lost power on 09/10/17, I called Comfort Suites and spoke with the woman who answered the phone to verify they have power and see if they also had a night available for 09/11/17. I have an autoimmune disorder and I cannot stay in the heat for long periods of time. The lady advised me they did have a room so I requested they change my reservation from 09/11/17-09/15/17. I also advised her I have a dog and that under FEMA regulations, during a disaster area, pets are allowed in hotels that are not considered pet friendly. She said pets were only allowed during the active storm which did not make sense since people must have arrived prior to the storm with pets. She asked her manager, who never got on the phone with me, and stated he said only animals are allowed during and active storm. As all other hotels in the local 100 mile radius were booked, I was left from with no power for 3 days. For this reason, I do not recommend this hotel. While other hotels and organizations were offering services to their local hometown residents, Comfort Inn was not. I have a valid booking number for this hotel, but they disputed my review. All I said here are true facts and I will call corporate to discuss further.
