Pros: Our stay here was comfortable. They have free Wi-Fi, breakfast and parking (all pluses). We were on the third floor and close to the elevators but it was never noisy. The beds were comfortable and clean, which is the most important thing. The room was a good size and so was the bathroom (not too small). The room had a microwave and mini-fridge as well. Close to Universal and free shuttle service to Universal. The breakfast is great. They have a good variety of things. Sausage patties and links, waffles, muffins, donuts, cereal, juice, coffee, water, biscuits, gravy, eggs, etc. The eating area is a little small but they open up a conference room across the hall for additional seating.
Cons: The queen beds were not long enough for my husband who is 6'2". The room was also a little dirty. There were fruit loops/cheerios on the floor under the table (and remained there during our four-night stay). The tables were also sticky. Thankfully they had sanitizing wipes so I sanitized all the surfaces. I expected it to be a little cleaner for the rate we paid. It must be because of it's proximity to Universal.
In regards to staying here for Universal Studios, it is close enough to walk but save your feet for the parks. Take a ride-share or a free shuttle if you don't want to pay for parking at Universal. This hotel partners with the Holiday Inn next door for a free shuttle service for hotel guests. You need tickets though, so get them the day before you want to use them. The desk is open from 7:00-11:00 am. If you go the day of, the early morning shuttles will most likely be full/sold out.
