“Great Little Museum”
Reviewed March 22, 2014

I brought my 5 kids ages 4 to 17 and we all had a great time. We got there about 9:00 and played with all the interactive exhibits until the 1:00 missionary presentation. The missionary presentation was very good. The Missionary apologized for going over his hour, but I don't think anyone minded. My 17 year old especially enjoyed looking at various translations of the Bible. The younger children loved the computer games about how Bible translation is done, and the other hands on activities.

“Here's a great place to take the family”
Reviewed March 7, 2014

When you're looking for a break in doing the theme parks, come to Wycliffe and see how the Bible translation came into being. Great history from Wycliffe to the present. Lovely gift shop with novel items from around the world. If you home school, you kids will enjoy and find some good ideas for future study.

“Incredible experience. Def one of a kind!!!”
Reviewed February 17, 2014

We visited Wycliffe on a weekday morning.

For the regular tour, every hour on the hour, they offer 20 minute, guided walks through the Discovery Center. You can ask for scavenger hunts (3 different level, pre-readers, reader thru elementary, and middle school to adult) and do that if you would like. The center is very informative, yet interesting with lots of engaging activities and thought provoking displays. You learn the history of the organization, it's purpose, and it's goals. You realize the great need that there still is for Bible translations.
Also, at 1:00, you can attend a talk by a staff missionary who will tell you about their experiences (persons and countries vary day to day ;) ). The staff and volunteers were all so personable, genuine, and passionate.

We had signed up a few weeks prior to our visit, to attend a special 3 hour 'A to Z' program (for groups of 12 or more, there are 2 different programs based on age). I cannot recommend this high enough! If there is any way that you can get a group together to go to the class, DO IT!!! It was the same price for adults as regular admission, but the program was fabulous. We did it for our kids (mostly! LOL!), and they learned about what it took for Cameron Townsend to take the gospel into Mexico, and then about Mexico and her peoples. The kids got passports and went to different stations where they learned about everything from the topography to the musical instruments of Mexico. They dressed up in authentic Latino clothing, and even learned about digital methods of getting the gospel to people groups that do not have a Bible in their 'heart language', or live in restricted areas. It was an incredible class, and even our 18 year old requested that we do it again next year (we are snowbirds).

The campus has a cafeteria (right across the hall from the Discovery Center, has limited hours) that guests are welcome to eat in - averages $5 each for our family. There is a fun gift shop with a variety of items, including hand-made items from around the globe. There is a 'lake' out back, with picnic tables, that you can go relax by, or eat your lunch near.

We could not believe what an interesting and incredible experience our visit to Wycliffe was!!! Still reeling in the awesomeness of it, and planning a return trip (they have a different A to Z curriculum each year). After visiting Wycliffe, be sure to drive next door and spend 45 minutes learning about CRU and the Jesus Film!

“My kids thanked me for taking them here!”
Reviewed February 15, 2014

We really enjoyed our visit here. My children, who complained about going (they wanted to go to Disney), said they enjoyed it and even thanked me (unsolicited!) for taking them here! Don't miss the missionary speaker at 1:00 and the tour at either 11:00 or 2:00; they add so much, and are free. Speakers/guides engage children and keep their interest. Although small, it is well done, classy, and real. Even the gift shop seemed like an exhibit as it has items from all over the world (don't miss all the nativity scenes!). We all enjoyed it and were glad we made the trip to see it. Highly recommend it.

This was by far one of our favorite things to do in Orlando area!!!! Friendly staff, hands on museum, along with some wonderful reminders of why the gospel is still needed to be shared and translated. LOVED this place!!!
