I've eaten here twice. The first time was really amazing, second time was above average. The concept for this restaurant (a mix of Chicken Kitchen style serving, and fast food) is great, as well as the implementation. You pick one main dish (chicken, shredded beef, pork, etc), one main side (white rice, yellow rice, etc) and then 2 other accompaniments (plantain chips, fries plantains, etc). They also have a fully stocked Cuban pastry/dessert section.

Second visit wasn't as good because the food was a little cold. It was later on in the day close to closing time, so I won't fault them too much for it, their eatery definitely deserves a lot more business!

This place is so good it needs to be franchised. The food is great. The service was fast and the shop is clean and new looking. Too bad I don't live nearby, I'd come by once a week just for a Cuban sandwich or medianoche. Plus, the desserts are great and a good value! Don't miss this place but please don't tell too many people about it either...

Simply delicioso! We visited Orlando to attend a wedding and decided to treat ourselves to the local Cuban cuisine. We skipped the hotel free breakfast and WOW! We were hit with the delicious flavors of Havana Bistro's pastry of quesitos, pastelitos con carne, mouth watering pan dulce … and the Cafe Cubano was … perfecto. Hey, skip the turistiy belly busting usual breakfasts and inmerse yourself in flavor.

PS It took a while to find it because the Bistro is not on Orange Blossom but it's facing Sand Lake Road next to the Olive Garden (look for it).

What a find!
Right across the street to Diamond International a stones throw from The Florida Mall.
It's cafeteria style but the food is so authentic and so good!
The Ropa Vieja is perfect as is the Cuban Rice.
We feasted for less than $20!

We have been to this place several times since it opened and we have never been disappointed.

The food is great!
The food here is always fresh, nothing ever taste as though it's been reheated. Sometimes you have to wait for stuff to be prepared but it's as fresh as it gets and yummy. The portions are generous so don't hesitate to ask for go box since this type of food reheats well.

Roast Pork, Ropa Vieja, Roasted Chicken and others along with the standard Moro, yellow rice, white rice, black beans, Yuca, and dried Plantains. The Roast Pork was moist and tender, and the Roasted Chicken had a perfect blend of spices , with tender meat falling off the bone ... I feel a craving starting as I write...

The staff is great!
This is a family business, any problems they jump in an take care of it. The staff is super friendly and greet you as a old friend when you first walk in.

The location is great!
Right off the Sandlake Road and Orange Blossom Trails intersection, near one of those big generic Italian restaurants. The place is super clean and well lit, the decorations are simple and the place definitely has a Cuban bistro cafe flair to it. Great place for a family meal or a simple no frills date.

Desserts!
As I mentioned before this is a family operation and the husband is a professional baker which results in a glass display case containing fresh, decadent and delicious Cuban pastries. The Guava and cheese pastries are light, flaky and delicious. My favorite was the bread pudding. So make sure to leave some room. The owner use to own a very successful bakery near by so he has plenty of experience at creating these delicate authentic delicacies.
