Very cute hotel. Really big though, and lots of noisy children so if that's not your thing look elsewhere. Nice pools, but again, lots of kids. One thing I didn't like was that someone came every day and knocked on the door saying they wanted to check on everything even if the do not disturb sign was on the door. And when my elderly mom was alone in the room with the sign on, they knocked on the door and insisted on coming in and checking the bathroom. It wasn't easy to nap after an early morning in the parks. The food was just okay. The l little Mermaid room was beautiful. Small, but then who spends a lot of time in the room?

When I stay here, I always feel like I have stepped into the whimsical undersea world of The Little Mermaid! Everywhere you look this classic animated feature comes to life and creates the perfect backdrop for magical memories. As you explore, you discover that each section of this Resort hotel has its own story to tell. Even though there were a few bumps in the road, I am glad that you enjoyed your stay overall.

Thank you for sharing this review. We hope to see you real soon!

We traveled to Walt Disney World for 7 nights July 29 - August 6. While the weather left much to be desired the trip was as magical as we could have hoped for. We stayed in a Family Suite Finding Nemo room. It was very close to the main pool as well as the lobby. The staff was all fantastic. Heather with baggage was particularly helpful. During our week-long trip, we never had an issue. I believe the food court may be the best at any Disney hotel including deluxe. Lots to pick from. My wife and I brought our 4 kids ages 2 - 11 and it was so much fun. With many rooms, it's difficult for a larger family to stay but we had plenty of space. If you are looking for Disney themeing at the resort as well as in the room no hotel on the property does it better. It was a fantastic trip and every cast member was fantastic. I would highly recommend to anyone with a larger family. Last time we did the cabins at fort wilderness but my family liked this better. Great trip, Thanks Disney!

Room tip: Nemo rooms are close to everything if you don't want to walk pick Nemo!

I should have listened to the reviews. First off, the outside of this resort is cute. Really, really cute. But that’s it. If you want to sleep, this is not the resort for you. Toilets flushing, screaming kids and doors slamming. I have been to Disney more then 15 visits. Sometimes when we go we are not wanting to spend a lot therefore we skimp on the room. Big mistake, HUGE! The savings of 500.00 was not worth it. Yes, if there were no small children to consider my opinion would be different. If you have little ones that need to nap during the day or sleep at night, choose Port Orleans or Coronado. Slightly more money but well worth it. Sadly we contacted customer service and was treated like they didn’t care. Never had that happen at a Disney resort. Even had an altercation with security at 3 pm when they knocked very loudly on the door trying to come in for a “10 sec required inspection” kids were trying to nap. I actually had to call and complain asking them to let me know when they needed in the room. We had asked not to have our room cleaned or anyone into it without letting us know because we taking every
Opportunity we could to let the kids sleep. They were not very accommodating. We were in the Little Mermaid room. Like the other reviews stated, the mattress was rough and it is further away from drinks, food and buses. But honestly, we didn’t mind the walking as much as the noise. Believe me, I have kids, I have grandkids. They make noise. Disney Is not a quiet place. We know that, we understand that but this. WOW. not good. Thankfully the days in the park are magical and you forget about your room accommodations until night time. Of course you are leaving the room grumpy because of your painful night. But again, the second you are in the park you forget all about it.

Thanks for sharing your honest review of Disney's Art of Animation Resort with us, Jen. I'm definitely happy to know you and your family enjoyed the overall larger-than-life theming of the Resort, but I'm so sorry that's where the magic seemed to have stopped. We always want to ensure every Guest is having the best time possible - including the midday naps - and I sincerely apologize you weren't able to enjoy the peace you were looking forward to. For any future instances like this, please don't hesitate to speak with a Leader at the Front Desk - our teams are always eager to assist and will try their best to be as accommodating as possible.

I know you mentioned you've stayed with us over 15 times, and it seems like you have a great grasp on the different Resorts we have. I'm not sure which of them you've stayed at, but Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is definitely my go-to when I want to stay in a smaller, more quiet Resort! But regardless of where you stay next, I'm sure it'll be an absolutely magical trip.

We visited the first week of May 2019. I stopped at the resort before heading to the parks after my flight and asked if I could request a room by an elevator (I know there are no guarantees, but I was in a walking boot due to an Achilles issue I was actually having surgery on that next week.) the guest services lady put in my request and told me it shouldn’t be a problem. Cut to 6 pm when I still hadn’t received my alert my room was ready. I was shuffled around and put on hold multiple times to be told there was an “issue” and they were working on my room ASAP. By that time I was tired and had been sitting a while because my foot was aching. The cast member on the phone was nice and gave me some money back and fast passes, however upon getting to my room, I was the 2nd from the last room from the elevator (likely due to the fact that they missed my regular check in time and filled all the empty rooms by the elevator at the normal time). When I called to question this, I was pretty much told “well I see we did give you some money and fast passes...” That was not my issue, my issue was I was alone for the first few nights, and walking to get a bag of ice became a lot harder.
I emailed management, she got back to me after my vacation...

The room was fine, there are better value resorts on Disney property

My daughter and I go to Disney every other year. This is our first stay at Art of Animation resort. We LOVED our stay!! Adorable, Disney atmosphere. We always stay on Disney property and use the magical bus transportation, my Disney experience and reservations on My Disney APP. So convenient and easy process. We stayed offsite before but it's not a true Magical experience. The transportation/parking fees will offset the cost difference of being at a Disney resort.
