As always with Disney, the staff was incredible, kind, and caring. We stayed in the Little Mermaid section of the resort, and the room was what I would expect from a nice motel. Bathroom was basic, except when I turned the water on in the shower, there was a slight odor for about five minutes. I’m not sure if my nose got used to it or if it went away. Mostly clean otherwise, sort of bare. I expected it to be of the caliber of Pop Century as another value resort, and even though this resort is newer, I would much rather stay at Pop. Way cleaner and the rooms are much more put together over there. Perfectly fine for one night, just don’t come with the expectations of Pop. Otherwise a really cool themed resort and an overall good stay.

Thank you for taking a moment to share your experience. While I’m happy to hear your stay was good overall, I’m sincerely sorry this location didn’t meet your expectations the way Disney’s Pop Century Resort has in the past. I’m also sorry about the concern you mentioned about the shower. No matter which of our Resorts you’re staying at, please never hesitate to call the Front Desk immediately when something isn’t quite right, so our teams can get you back on track to the picture-perfect visit for which we aim. I hope we get to welcome you back to one of our Resorts for an even better visit soon.

I really struggled with how to rate this resort. The room and resort itself was great. It was clean and comfortable. Fair warning, the Little Mermaid rooms are pretty far away from the buses and lobby. We knew that coming in, so that was a non issue for us, but may be important enough for some people to consider a theme that is closer (Nemo, Lion King). If it was just that part, I’d give this place a 5.

The bus service upset me enough to drive this down to a 2. We consistently waited 45 minutes to an hour for a bus to pick us up from the parks (while seeing bus after bus come for Pop century). This would be fine if approximately every 20 minute service wasn’t advertised. More than one bus didn’t have air conditioning. I did talk to the front desk about this and the solution was to call a Minnie Van next time. Telling a hot cranky customer to pay 30 dollars instead of addressing the transportation issue is not magical. Next time we stay at Pop Century. Their bus game seems to be on point.

Jeannette, thank you for sketching up a review of your stay with us. As thrilled as I am to read your journey under the sea was swimming with positive notes, I sincerely apologize for the challenges you faced with Resort buses and the response provided by our Front Desk team when you voiced your concerns. Our transportation team does their best to get our Guests to their destinations in a timely manner, but there are few things more frustrating than facing a delay when you’re headed to the Park.

I want to assure you that our Leadership teams will have visibility to your feedback, and I’m sure it will be helpful as we continually evaluate where we can improve. We look forward to traveling through time with your family next time.

My daughter and I arrived at Art of Animation on 8/30. We stayed in the little mermaid room. We only planned to stay until 9/3, but Hurricane Dorian had other plans. Thankfully we were able to stay in our room for 2 additional days at a discounted price. The resort was great. It was a far walk from the front to the little mermaid area but it was a nice walk. While overall I did enjoy A of A, there were minor things that I did not enjoy. If mousekeeping were not in the mix, I would give this resort 5 stars. Next time I will opt out of mousekeeping. The cast member did not do much. She did not change the sheets and I noticed this because my lipstick stains were still on the sheets from the night before. She did not place up the items on the table or around the sink and one day did not leave us new wash clothes. The floor was not vacuumed which is not huge but should be mentioned. One day my daughter and I were on our way out around 4pm (the room had not been cleaned yet) when mouse keeping finally came as we were about to head out I said we would be leaving in 5 minutes if she could come back she was pretty nasty and said she had to get the room cleaned now. I felt like we were rushed out of the room.

I did not have to check in or out at the desk because we did everything online. We did have to speak with someone at the front desk when we had to extend our stay. I spoke with Jyote. She was kind and helpful. Also, worth noting, Stephanie at the pool area was great. My daughter loved her and thought she did fantastic with hosting the kids activities. I would return here because my daughter loved the room and the pools but I would opt out of mousekeeping.

It’s great to see your time at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort was lovely overall, even when the storm shook up your plans a bit. On that same token, I’m so happy Cast Members like Jyote and Stephanie were high points of your visit, making poolside activities a blast and changing plans a breeze. I’ve made sure to pass your kind words along to them!

However, I do want to offer you my apologies for the experience you had with our Housekeeping team across the board. I can definitely understand why this put a damper on an otherwise wonderful stay.

We look forward to seeing you and your daughter under the sea again soon.

Stayed for one night right at the start of our family holiday back in July but wished it could have been longer! We have visited the resort a few times before to eat at their food court(which is superb and has loads of choice!), however, have never stayed in any of the rooms. We arrived very early and check in was very quick and the cast member was very helpful as we needed directions to get us to an character breakfast at a different location. Returned later after our day at the parks and we had been located in the Little Mermaid section. Lovely room, brilliant theming and right beside the pool! The pool itself, in this section, was excellent and our girls loved it! As for the buildings sized replicas of the Little Mermaid, King Triton and Ursula positioned outside the pool area, this was a sight to see itself! Went to the food court that evening and as before, loads of food choices to keep everyone happy. Even walking through the resort, the theming for the Lion King, Cars, etc similar to the Little Mermaid is superb and it has a really nice feel to it. Brilliant big arcade for kids of all ages! We would definitely go back for a longer stay in the future!

Room tip: Request a section based on your favourite film/characters

I’m “artfully” glad to see your one night journey to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort was a big blue hit! Taking a stroll across the grounds of this Resort to spot the larger-than-life décor that features some of our most beloved characters is an adventure in and of itself; it sounds like you were able to soak in all in during your short stay. Also, I love your tip about requesting a room based on your favorite featured characters. Our Cast Members always do their best to accommodate these requests, and this would be a “fin-tastic” way to immerse yourself in your favorite film!

We hope you’ll sketch up a return trip real soon. Until next time!

Fun place. Good food. Not the best value. Long lines at check-in, check-out or to simply ask a question. They can improve on efficiency in the lobby. Haley was excellent at check-in. She took very good care of us. Room was nice but simple. It was clean. The only flaw was some mold on the grout in the shower. Nice pools and sculptures. Once the Sky Liner gondola is up and running it will be a great transportation option because the station is on the property. The art on the property was fun but not as much as I hoped there would be. (I know, it's everywhere.) More of the classic drawings would be nice. We were in the Little Mermaid area so we were very far from the lobby, dining, entertainment and transportation. I looked at a map to determine that the straightest line from our room to the buses was through the parking lot between parked cars. We will try a different Disney hotel next time.

Room tip: Ask for a room near the lobby.

I truly apologize for your stay at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort was not the visit you and your family had sketched up while planning. While I’m thrilled you enjoyed exploring the Resort and the delicious dining options I’m disheartened to learn that is where the excitement ended. I can certainly understand how waiting in a long line to ask a question can become quite frustrating at times, but I’m also concerned to learn about the housekeeping concerns in your room. Please never hesitate to speak to our Cast Members as they’re always available to assist in making sure your visit is everything you have been looking forward to.

May I suggest during your next planning session to check out Disney’s Pop Century Resort. Not only does this Resort offer the same value you have come to expect but additionally these rooms have been recently refurbished which offer optimal space usage, convenience to the lobby area and transportation, and larger-than-life iconic theming.

I appreciate the time you took to share your feedback about your recent visit. I can’t wait to see where your next adventure takes you, maybe across Hourglass Lake.
