Excellent hotel with outstanding price! We paid $99 per night and were in awe at how fabulous the hotel was. The place was more like a resort - few pools, places to eat, bar, etc. My favorite thing was that there was a pool outside the building we stayed in - this was great because since it was not the main pool it did not get too crowded and also was great so we didn't have to go all the way to the main pool. My only complaint is that the pillows were hard and uncomfortable. The hotel is literally across from SeaWorld and only about a 8 minute drive to Universal Studios. Would absolutely stay here again!

Forget "hidden mickey". This is a "hidden Hilton"!

I've stayed at multiple Disney properties when visiting the theme park district of Orlando. While I enjoy the convenience, scenic landscapes and charming details of Disney resorts, I don't enjoy the skyrocketing prices (every season these hotels seem to get pricier and pricier with no value added) or the crowded common areas and the irritating noise levels. There's something about staying at a Disney property that is much like I would imagine sleeping in a busy bus depot is like. There's almost too many rooms at Disney properties and it makes it difficult to have a relaxing experience.

This Hilton property is located conveniently near the Sea World property--you could walk to the park from the hotel property entrance. The GVH has a shuttle or bus that will take you to the Sea World park with varying hours of departure and return. The same shuttle service can take you to Universal or Disney's Epcot Center but there's fewer options for departure and return and there's a fee associated with the service to Epcot. There's a remedy to this which is to drive to Downtown Disney (very near by) and park there and hop in the Disney transportation service to the parks. If you don't have a car maybe you can use a taxi service. I don't recall if the GVH has shuttle service to Downtown Disney but I'm fairly certain that there is a regular bus line that does take you there from a nearby stop.

The GVH property is lush, green and QUIET. We were just there during Summer's peak in July and not a screaming child or irritated parent or loud and excitable group of touring teenagers or foreign sports teams were to be found. It was lovely to be able to walk around and enjoy the serene tranquility. Maybe there's less "charm" and "personality" to this hotel than at a Disney property, but how long are you planning to spend in your room? You have to weigh the cost of staying at a Disney hotel with the value and lately, it's not worth it.

Pros:
-Private, gated entry with on duty security guard who actually checks to see if you are a registered guest and isn't just going through some ceremonial motions of glancing at your ID.
-Valet parking.
-Parking close to your building, not thousands of miles away like at *some* hotels.
-Clean, bright, welcoming lobby area.
-Seamless check in process, even with stays booked through third parties.
-Friendly staff from check in to maintenance crew.
-Easy access to main areas from buildings.
-Clean common areas, walk ways and guest suites.
-Spacious guest suites with attention to functional detail and needs (microwave, wet bar, fridge that actually works, climate control, private balcony, high end toiletries).
-Room service is consistent.
-Fully stocked sundry.
-Complimentary self-launder services.
-Free Wifi/ease of use.
-Business center.
-Full bar.
- TONS of activities , many for free, for children and adults and families.

Cons:
-Many of the rooms have a one bed, one sofa couch option. I wish some of the rooms had two queen size beds.
-No hand soap! This is at every hotel I go to. You don't wash your hands with a bar of soap, the same bar of soap for every guest? I don't think so. Let's get some liquid soap please.
-The restaurant leaves much to be desired. As far as I saw, there was no indoor seating and in the high peak of the Florida summer and humidity, you do not want to be sitting outside while you eat.
-I did not stay in a family suite but I have seen photos of the suites online and I am scratching my head as to why the jaccuzzi tub is out in the open in the bedroom. Not a lot of privacy there! Same situation at some other hotels. Please, not everyone is a couple on their honeymoon. It's rather awkward!
-No free breakfast.

In general, I highly recommend this GVH property at Sea World. Contrary to some of the other reviews here, it is NOT a time share only and they do NOT expect you to listen to time share presentations. The entire time I was there, no one ever mentioned time share membership to us nor was it in any literature found in our room or welcome packet.

We have booked another stay at GVH for Food and Wine Festival and for Thanksgiving. That's how pleased we are with the experience. We may stay at a Disney property around Christmas time because we do like the way Disney does the holiday decorations and holiday charm, but we have decided to move our November trip to this property.

If you are visiting Sea World, this is the place to book your hotel room. Flippers down!!!

Room Tip: We stayed at the Pembroke house and it was close to the main building and pool. Pembroke and Hamilto...

Just got back from our vacation and we had a great time. This place has it all. Tons of activites for the kids and just an awesome facility. The place has it's own movie theater and on Tuesdays and Sunday's they bring the movie outdoors next to the pool via a huge inflatable screen.

The restaurant was very good also, after a long day at the parks it helps to have a good place to eat and/or the attached market which also makes pizza's and grinders.

The one thing I didn't like was when we asked for the discount for sea world tickets. Keep in mind this is a time share property (which we are not owners) but they will try like crazy to set up and appointment to sit through a presentation. We just ended up getting our tickets from AAA and not asking for anymore discount through them.

Being only one crosswalk away from Sea World you can save $12-$15 on parking.

All in all this was a great place with tons to do and a friendly staff.

We would stay again!

Room Tip: Walking distance to Sea World

My family and I stayed at this resort from 6/29 to 7/6 and had an amazing stay. The property is beautiful, amazingly well maintained, and close to everything. Honestly, I can't believe the price that we got this room for for an entire week -- it was a steal. We had a 1 BDRM King Suite and it had everything we could have possibly needed. Full kitchen with service for four, a HUGE whirlpool tub in the master, and a sofabed in the living room. Standing shower in the bathroom, screened in balcony, and 2 flat screen TVs. We stayed in the Tucker Town House which had a perfect view of Seaworld so we got to see fireworks on nights we weren't in the parks. Disney was only about a 15 minute drive away. The pools were AMAZING and kept heated too, so, on rainy days it was still ok to swim. They offer tons of activities on the property including snorkeling lessons for kids and adults at VERY reasonable prices. We ate at the Coral Reef restaurant one night and it was very, very good.

Right before we left to go on our trip my husband won a trip to Disney from work for a 3 night stay on property. On 7/6 we moved to Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter and after only being on the property for fifteen minutes we all said, including our five year old daughter, that we missed the Hilton. I cannot imagine why ANYONE would pay Disney prices for a standard room of that quality level when you could pay 1/3 of the cost and have what we did at this Hilton GVC.

Yes, this is a vacation club and yes we did get asked to attend a presentation. We politely declined and they didn't ask again. They weren't pushy or overbearing at all. The hotel is right by a Walmart, a CVS, and TONS of restaurants. It really is a perfect location and I can't speak highly enough of the property. This will definitely be our go to for future Disney trips.

Room Tip: Request a room with a view of Seaworld for fireworks!

I guess the secret is out, based on all the great reviews, which are well deserved. We stayed at HGV Seaworld for Spring Break, for a 3 night timeshare promotion, and loved it so much, we came back for 8 more nights at the end of June and early July.

As previous reviewers have said, it is a very short walk to Seaworld (and they have free shuttles too), so you can save some money on parking. Discovery cove is literally next door, but you don't need to walk or shuttle there, since parking is inlcuded when you buy a reservation at Discovery Cove (separate review).

This is the oldest of the HGV properties in Orlando, but you would never know it. The grounds are immaculately maintained, lush beautiful and serene. We have stayed at the International Drive HGV, which is nice, and we did the tour at the Parc Soleil, which was pretty new, but had nowhere near the beauty, charm and serenity of this one.

If you have kids, there is no comnparision, as this is by far the most kid/family friendly resort we've visited. And when you compare the rates, it's no decision. This is THE place to stay in Orlando, and not just if you're visiting Seaworld. This is a great, beautiful area, that has very easy access to all other theme parks, attractions and stores.

We always hit a Publix to load up on groceries, but the Market has just about anything you would need in a pinch, and though obviously more pricey, it can be very convenient, if needed. The food/ice cream is very nice, but not outstanding. Again, mostly very convenient. The pizza is good and quite affordable....and did I mention convenient?

They have activities basically all day, every day(they give you a scedule upon check-in), so if you're not going to a park, you have plenty to do at the resort. As others have noted, they have 2 large pools by the main building, with a nice workout facilty right there as well. They even have a lake behind the pools, that has at least one gator, and a few turtles. They have a nice path that goes around the lake too.

They have free movies in the theatre every night at 9pm (most are family friendly, but not all are suitable for young kids). On Tuesdays and Saturdays, they bring the movie outside (weather permitting) between the 2 big pools with a big inflatable screen. These movies are always family friendly and a lot of fun to watch a movie while swimming or sitting in a hot tub, or just relaxing pool side.

There are 10 buildings, and buildings 1,2,3 & 10(added late?) are closest to the main bullding/'clubhouse', and the tennis courts/bball court (also very nice) are ~by buildings 5&6. So, these are more convenient for the main pools, front desk, Market and courts, but I actually prefer the further buildings, like 7,8 & 9. We stayed in building 8 (Warwick)for Spring break, and loved it so much, we requested the same one for this trip. We had heard that most of the rooms on the top floors that face Seaworld have a view of the fireworks there, so we requested one and after some nice maneuvering by the friendly front desk, they were able to get us one, and it was great. (the fireworks show is short, but still quite nice and it's a great, serene view anyway!)

The buildings 7-9 are quieter, and these buildings have been renovated more recently. They have the smaller pool right behind them, and the I enjoyed the 5 minute walk thru the lovely grounds of this pristine resort. And, if you call in advance, you can get a cart ride to the main building, or wherever else on the grounds you want. You may even be able to flag one of them down as they drive by, though several times they actually stopped and asked me if I wanted a ride.

The one bedroom suite we had was fantastic. Full kitchen, with utensils (only 4 settings, but you can probably ask for more, if needed). Jacuzzi tub in bath area, patios with ceiling fans and seating for 4. And the most comfortable beds we've experienced....incuding the best fold out mattress ever!

This is a great resort in a great location for a very reasonable rate. We have been to Orlando ~30+ times and have stayed at ~25 places, but while we are still traveling with kids, I can't imagine staying any place but here!

Room Tip: Buildings 7-9 are quieter, more recently renovated. Ask for top floor w/fireworks view!

As it was mentioned by another traveler, the size of the studio was rather small for being a vacation club unit. Most studios are larger. Also I could not set the current time on the alarm clock. It was a nice clock radio but no instructions in how to set the current time. The clock was unplugged at first when I checked in the room. Overall, since this is Florida and we live outdoors more than indoors, the size of the studio was not a pressing matter. I would not buy into the vacation club if this was one the units available.

Other than a leaky shower head and some mold in the shower, this was an excellent stay. The kids loved the pool area and it was nice that the staff would come pick you up via golf cart at any time. We stayed in a 1 bedroom and the kids slept on the fold-out bed. We really did enjoy our stay and would consider coming back.
