“Great Place to stay”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

This is our second time staying at the Sabal Palms. I really like this place. Better suited for adults than younger children since many of the activities are at the other location and there are a few steps in the condo, but my husband and I love it My granddaughter who is 11 came for a few days and she was happy with it (her and I like to walk so going to the other resorts connected wasn't a big deal. The World Center is right there and the pool options are amazing. Staff were so nice and everything was clean. We will make plans to stay here again in the future.

Stayed here the week of 7/13/13 - 7/20/13. The location of the resort in relation to the World Center was the only "problem" I had. You had to drive behind the World Center and see all its dumpsters employee entrances, etc, to get to the Sabal Palms. Location in relation to parks was fantastic: a short drive to Disney, Universal or Sea World parks. Restaurants of all types within minutes as well as a Super WalMart and a Publix supermarket for all your shopping needs.

We arrived early, 1 PM rather than 4 PM, and were accommodated by the staff member at the front desk. Within minutes we were checked-in and on our way to our unit. We had a 2 bed/bath upper unit. Exterior style was decidedly 80s but we knew that going in. Layout was great, furniture was updated, could have used new carpeting - wasn't worn but looked older. Our teenage girls never saw the shower in their own bathroom - which itself was fine for a second shower in the unit - as they insisted on using the walk-in shower in the master, I can't blame them - very nice! Three flat screens in unit so no issues for differing tastes in entertainment. ATT WIFI not great, slow compared to what I'm accustomed to - maybe I'm spoiled by our cable internet back home.

Used the gym and pool at World Center and was very pleased with both - easy walk to both from our unit which was one of the furthest from the path to World Center - maybe a 10 minute walk to the pool, less to the gym/spa. Girls loved the 3-story slide and hot tubs at the big pool. Gym had everything you would want and multiples of treadmills, ellipticals, recumbent bikes so no waiting.

Overall I would highly recommend Sabal Palms.

Stayed here in early May with my wife and 2 kids for a Disney vacation for 1 week. The Sabal Palms is located within the World Center resort, right across the highway from one of the main entrances to Disney. It was very convenient location for going to the parks. Also lots of restaurants etc within proximity. The property is clean and nice looking. Our unit was 2-bedroom and large. Really comfortable beds and great master bathroom. It's nice to "spread out" after a day at the parks. 2 big TVs with cable. The bldgs are 2-story with parking right out front so no problem carrying groceries or bags in. I have to admit we didn't do any activities at the resort because we were at Disney everyday but the pool looked nice. Only odd thing was you have to drive through "the back" of other Marriott properties, i.e. dumpsters and loading docks, to get to the sabal palms. Definitely stay here again for an Orlando vacation.

I didn't really feel like this property was up to the Marriott Vacation club standards. The exterior was very 70's which I knew to expect from the pictures, but overall it didn't have the resort feel I expected. Perhaps it was our location. We were closest to the walkway to the Marriott World Center (which I originally thought was a good thing) but there was construction right along the path we had to walk to our room. The balcony was kind of worn, had lots of bugs, and overlooked a swampy area. Inside the unit, however, was very nice! Furnishings were all up to date, except the carpet. Master bedroom was huge. Kids loved their room and separate bathroom. I liked the layout with the kitchen overlooking the living area and the stepped-down layout. Washer and Dryer right in the kitchen was very convenient. Only issue inside the room was the noise from the unit above.

There were a list of daily activities, but most were over at the Royal Palms which you'd have to drive to (or take the shuttle). We initially chose this property because of the privileges at World Center, but encountered a lot of construction walking over there and the whole pool was under construction so there were no water slides or anything special for the kids. We tried to go to World Center one night for a quick dinner, but found all the quick restaurants closed, so we ended up going off property.

In summary, we really loved our room, but were just underwhelmed by the resort itself and will be trying another resort the next time we go back to Orlando

This year was our 4th stay at Sabal Palms and this time was just as good as our first. Sabal Palms is in perfect proximity to Disney World. It is always clean, well appointed and the staff is always polite and welcoming. I truly feel this is our home away from home when traveling to Orlando. I look forward to staying here almost as much as I look forward to seeing "the mouse."

Room Tip: Second floor is better for noise reduction... Rooms overlooking the golf course provide a beautiful...

We stayed in a two bedromm condo. It was on the money. The condo was clean and well located. Close to the Disney Parks. The Staff at the Marriott were very professional and couldn't help you enough. When you asked for assistance, they were there. I would not hesitate staying at the Sabal Palms again. Just one note. If you are near the golf course, be ready to hear them mowing the fairway at 5:30 AM. Annoying enough that you just want to throw a few golf balls at them. But, I still recommend highly.

What a great place to stay during a convention. The Sabal Palms Resort provides a beautiful and restful place to stay to avoid the crowds and chaos of the Marriott during a large convention. The condos are spacious with a completely stocked kitchen to make your stay relaxing. There is a smaller pool to experience away from the crowds of the larger hotel. I would highly recommend these condos for a great Florida experience. Shuttles run every few minutes to give you full access to the Marriott.
