I agree - Don't believe the bad reviews. This is an excellent hotel for the price. It's clean, the staff was very friendly and accomodating and it's ideally located just off a main highway but not in an "attractions" area. (read: less traffic to deal with). Granted - it's not a luxury hotel - you don't get daily maid service, there aren't 7 desk clerks to serve you and no bellman to carry your luggage. But if you're looking for a clean, inexpensive, safe place to call home while you're visting Orlando, this is a hidden jewel. I especially love the refrigerator and mini stove in the room. I've stayed there twice and am booked again in January. (Got great deals through priceline) If you're like me and would rather spend your money on shopping or dining rather than overpriced hotel rooms, then check this hotel out!

I had never stayed at the Homewood suites because I thought they were too pricey. I knew I wanted to stay in the UCF area and found this hotel on their website for $72 on Thanksgiving weekend. What a deal! Everything appears very new and fresh. The room as very nice size and homey. We were ready to move in! The staff was very friendly and asked several times if there was anything they could provide. There was complimentary popcorn in the kitchen area, plenty of cooking equipment and dishes(which we did not use). The bedroom area and bath were very comfortable and well lit. Breakfast was a wonderful surprise!! Real dishes and silverware! They provided a full buffet with make your own waffles, scrambled eggs with several choices of toppings, bacon, hash browns, breakfast sandwiches,3 choices of cereal,a fruit/yougart bar, 3 kinds of juice, muffins, bread etc. The eating area was very clean. We definately will stay again!!!

We visited Orlando for 4 days. When we got to Homestead Suites we waited about 40 minutes to get checked in. We had to wait for our room to be cleaned even though it was after check in time. We were exhausted from a 3 hour drive from Miami, nevermind the fact that we had a 3 month infant with us. When we got to our room, we realized that it was not what we paid for. We wanted a double and got a queen size bed with a pull out couch (not enough pillows or blankets). We called the night attendant (no one at the front desk during the night) to try to get internet service, pillows and blankets, but he never returned our call. We called to get transferred to a different room the next morning. We were asked not to leave the hotel till our new room was ready because we'd lose it if we did. We waited 3 hours. Finally, we moved into our new room. There was much more room which was really nice, HOWEVER, the refrigerator still had pizza in it from the previous guests and the dishes that were put away in the cabinets were still VERY dirty (food stuck on them). Honestly, the room was very modern with nice curtains and linens, but the service was absolutely horrible and we were definitely not happy about the messy dishes and refrigerator.

We were a bit apprehensive about staying at the Homestead Suites. We did not read any reviews until after our trip was booked. My husband and I found the hotel to be clean, comfortable, quiet and quite accomodating. If you're looking for luxury....go elsewhere. But if you just want a place to call "home" for your trip, this is the place to be. It is off the beaten path of all the huge mega resorts and a short drive to all attractions. There is a strip mall across the highway for all of your necessities and many places to dine in the area. The pool was empty for most of the duration of our trip, so we enjoyed it thoroughly. It was clean and just the right temperature. Be prepared to take your room key everywhere. It is very secure. (You need your key to get in and out of the pool area.!) The staff was courteous and helpful....and very accomodating. You will need to keep up on your own housekeeping. They only "refresh" the rooms every couple of days. There are dishes and utensils for your use as well as a fridge, microwave, 2 burner stovetop, coffemaker....most of the comforts of home. We were very pleased. Don't hesitate to stay here! It's worth it ! We will definitely come back the next time!

With so many hotels in Orlando, I feel a bit like a pioneer venturing to a hotel not yet reviewed on TripAdvisor. The Homestead Suites Orlando is a mixed bag, that probably isn't a bad deal for its price. I paid about $70 a night; I saw that people had gotten rooms there on Priceline for $33 a night. Overall, it has many of the benefits of an ExtendedStay for much less money, and given that they are owned by the same chain now, you can see how this is being branded as the lower-end version. Overall, the staff was nice and responsive to problems. It has an outdoor pool, and the rooms come with kitchens. It's located in a fairly convenient location in Orlando, although the hotel has a construction site on one side which (as of April 2005) generated some morning noise. There are highways on the other two sides, so it's not the quietest hotel in the world, but it could be a lot worse. A lot of little things about the hotel don't work (a broken elevator while we were there, and the certificate in the other one said that expired many months before); minor broken things in the room like the toilet paper holder and a light with a burnt out bulb. Not of this is all that big of a deal, but there is that fine line between budget housing and the long-term business traveler which ExtendedStay has worked so hard to appeal to.
