I went there few times. At first they did not have buffet but food was quiye delicious

They reecently started buffet.
Taste and presentatikn are pretty good. Price is reasonable. For the location it is much better value and quality than anatolia actoss the street.

I refered few of my friends and they also liked saffron. We took out their food few times and it was consistant.

Would go.back

“Couldn't bring ourselves to eat here”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

My husband found this well-rated restaurant on Yelp. We entered for lunch on a Saturday, and were informed that they only had their $12.95 lunch buffet. This was not what we wanted, as we had seen a lunch menu listing on line.

Anyway, we were directed to sit in a booth that was completely covered in food and crumbs. We changed our seats to a table and when I sat in the padded chair, a cloud of dust bunnies flew into the air. This table, as well as the floor, was filthy.

We left. This was the dirtiest restaurant we have even seen. We felt sick, thinking about what the kitchen looks like and how the four other tables of patrons could even think about eating here.

“Good, not great, Indian food”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

Unassuming Indian restaurant we tried coming home from a long day at Universal Studios in Orlando. Being from the West coast, we were expecting our favorite Indian dishes to be prepared in the manner we are accustomed to. While Saffron had one of our two favorites, the preparation was different that what we expected. Nonetheless, both dishes we had, Lamb Korma, and Chicken Malai Kebab were tasty and quite satisfying. Our waitress from Nepal was very pleasant and friendly. A nice dinnr all in all, evenif a bit higher priced than typical Indian food. For the price it could have had a bit more taste and have been a meal I would remember more fondly. Still, no regrets and a solid 3 stars.

“Nothing remarkable”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

We visited Saffron last evening on our way in from the airport. It was fairly empty (only one other couple when we entered) but when we left at 8:30 a few more people had drifted in.

It's a small restaurant, rather NYC like in it's use of space. The servers are quite friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu and food preparation.

The menu is a standard Indian fare menu, with the "favorites" and the "expecteds." No surprises there.

The food? Hot, definitely which was very welcome after a two week vacation of eating mostly tepid food. However, the flavor was just not what we expected. The lamb in the vindaloo needed a bit more slow cooking. It was on the tough side, but dry. The muttar paneer was nondescript in its flavor, although had a good level of seasoned spiciness.

The cheese naan was the true disappointment of the evening. It was more like a cheese stuffed pita where the melted (cheddar like) cheese had slid out of the bread.

We probably won't return which is a shame. We like to support local family owned places, but they do have to deliver on quality.

“Good Indian food”
Reviewed September 12, 2012

Went to the restaurant with my colleagues which also had a number of vegetarians, the restaurant does offer a wide range of dishes...also serves some Indian beer like kingfisher and haywards 5000. I didn't see any Indian wine on the menu, don't know why...
The garlic naan and Goan shrimp curry was good, though not a complaint, the quantity served is just too much for one person, so the quantity of dishes served serves two...

I would recommend the place for anyone looking for authentic Indian cuisine.
