Unassuming Indian restaurant we tried coming home from a long day at Universal Studios in Orlando. Being from the West coast, we were expecting our favorite Indian dishes to be prepared in the manner we are accustomed to. While Saffron had one of our two favorites, the preparation was different that what we expected. Nonetheless, both dishes we had, Lamb Korma, and Chicken Malai Kebab were tasty and quite satisfying. Our waitress from Nepal was very pleasant and friendly. A nice dinnr all in all, evenif a bit higher priced than typical Indian food. For the price it could have had a bit more taste and have been a meal I would remember more fondly. Still, no regrets and a solid 3 stars.

We visited Saffron last evening on our way in from the airport. It was fairly empty (only one other couple when we entered) but when we left at 8:30 a few more people had drifted in.

It's a small restaurant, rather NYC like in it's use of space. The servers are quite friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu and food preparation.

The menu is a standard Indian fare menu, with the "favorites" and the "expecteds." No surprises there.

The food? Hot, definitely which was very welcome after a two week vacation of eating mostly tepid food. However, the flavor was just not what we expected. The lamb in the vindaloo needed a bit more slow cooking. It was on the tough side, but dry. The muttar paneer was nondescript in its flavor, although had a good level of seasoned spiciness.

The cheese naan was the true disappointment of the evening. It was more like a cheese stuffed pita where the melted (cheddar like) cheese had slid out of the bread.

We probably won't return which is a shame. We like to support local family owned places, but they do have to deliver on quality.

Went to the restaurant with my colleagues which also had a number of vegetarians, the restaurant does offer a wide range of dishes...also serves some Indian beer like kingfisher and haywards 5000. I didn't see any Indian wine on the menu, don't know why...
The garlic naan and Goan shrimp curry was good, though not a complaint, the quantity served is just too much for one person, so the quantity of dishes served serves two...

I would recommend the place for anyone looking for authentic Indian cuisine.

I went for dinner, the entrees were very flavorful and balanced. Sometimes certain Indian restaurants overpower the dishes with too much cinnamon and cardamom, but theirs was not like that. The garlic naan was very good as well. The service was professional and attentive. I will definitely be coming back!

I have had Indian food in India and many countries, from 80’s style cheap and cheerful to Michelin star and everything in-between! But always disappointed in Indian food in USA – this one is the best so far. It’s not brilliant but it is the best I have had in USA and particularly Florida. I now have somewhere to eat Indian food – worth a visit and the complex it is in is very nice.
