We stayed at this resort New Year's Eve and the first week of January 2012. Our unit, in building 23, Augustine section, was very clean and comfortable. There were plenty of dishes and amenities. Everything was as advertised and expected. We found our building and villa to be modern, and upscale. It was fully tiled, perfect for people who dislike carpets due to allergies. Our only complaint was the sofa bed. The bed portion is useless. While it may be reasonably new, it is very uncomfortable for an adult to sleep on. It might be acceptable for a smaller child, but then you wouldn't leave a child to sleep alone in the living room by the front door.
The resort itself was beautiful, lots of flowers and tropical plants. It was well maintained and manicured, with perfect backdrops for photos. There were pools for kids, with waterslides, and pirate ships, pools with a gradual slope at the entry point, perfect for toddlers or seniors. There were pools for activities, and a quiet pool for those who want to relax without noise. There were games rooms, both indoor and outdoor. There were quiet relaxing swings and hammocks, some overlooking watefalls. You could have lots of fun and excitement or a peaceful relaxing vacation. There was something for everyone. There's a computer and printer for checking in online with your airline, and printing boarding passes.
The location is excellent for those with a car, who plan to visit the theme parks, outlet malls, or Mary of the Universe Shrine. Everything is within a close drive. For those without a car, there is a convenient trolley that is located just outside the property gate (not a long walk). It can drive people to a variety of locations nearby. We also heard there is a shuttle to theme parks, provided for free twice per day, but we did not use it, nor meet anyone who did.
The staff at the resort was professional. Everyone was pleasant and accomodating, from the front desk, to the housekeeping staff, the towel attendants, and shop clerks. Everyone was smiling and happy to help guests. We were offered $100 to attend a timeshare presentation, when we checked in. We declined, and no one bothered us about it again. Everyone here appeared to be having a good time. There were mainly families, from Canada, the U.K., and South America (Brazil, Columbia).
While most of the people who we met were there mainly to sleep, and to travel to theme parks during the day, there was an activities calendar provided for the week, with a lot of things for kids and teens to do. You could stay at the resort all day, and still have a lot to do.
