Disney's Pop Century Resort

We've stayed at a few Disney properties over the years. This was our first stay at Pop, not my favorite but by no means a bad place. Check-in was quick, we pre-registered online. The room is small and the double beds are just not sufficient for our family of 3; I need more space! Space is tight in the whole room. It was clean though and fine for our 1 night stay. The price can't be beat for being on Disney property with the perks. The computer pool near our room was boring but the main pool looked nice. The food court is big with lots of choices. The food is decent but way too expensive! I was disappointed to see a roach crawling on our wall when we were packing up to leave. We called the front desk and they said they would have someone take care of it. Overall, it was a good value but I think we will pick a different resort next time.

We have stayed at Pop Century 3 times in the past 4 years. Each trip has ranged from 1 week to 15 nights. Each time we have been pleased with the cleanliness and atmosphere. It's a ton of fun for kids. We have also been amazed with the wonderful customer service from all staff members. During our last trip we had a problem with the room we were assigned. The staff quickly moved us to a new room and we had a wonderful stay. We are planning another trip in the near future and our son won't even consider staying anywhere else.

Room Tip: We always ask for a room in the 60s near the pool. This puts you in the middle of the action and ve...

Our latest stay at Pop Century was in August. We spent 2 weeks total at Disney with half of it being at Pop Century and the other half at a moderate resort. My kids are all high school and college age now, but this is still our favorite. Lots of colors and larger than life Disney characters and icons from past decades. One of my best memories is the night I spent with my two teens walking around reading the signs around memory lake. Our rooms were clean and pleasant. No complaints. We actually have reservations to return to Pop Century in December for a 5 day visit between school semesters. If you go to Disney to be a kid, this place is always fun.

Room Tip: We always stay in the 50's.

Two children aged 13,10, and I stayed here the last week of Aug first week of Sept. I found the place very adequate. The rooms are small but very clean and comfortable enough. The grounds were immaculate and staff very very helpful. It did not seem that busy to me though it was my first visit. We had a room on the 90s block and were on the road front so I thought it may get a bit noisy but it did not. You can get a little noise from next door if they are showering for example you will hear the system working.
Overall I have no complaints and would be nitpicking if picking any out. The free buses to the parks are excellent.

As in the past we were looking forward to our Disney trip, not to be disappointed. when we arrived we were informed that it was a Magical time at Pop Century with the introduction of the Magic Bands. These became our room key, park passes, Fast Passes and a brilliant thing to take home to keep.

We were in the 60s block, just behind the large pot of play-do, which was superb for location. We settled in after our 5 minute check in, unpacked and went off to Magic Kingdom.

The rooms were clean, lots of towels left each day and the kids loved the arrangements of their toys each day we returned back to our rooms. As there was 6 of us (4 adults and 2 kids) we had two ajoining rooms which was fantastic.

We also took advantage of the Disney quick Service Dining Plan this year, which was our first time, and although you get fed up of fast food towards the end of it (dont think i can face a burger even yet), it was fantastic value for money.

We realised though that if you have lots of QS Meals at the end of your holiday which you will not manage to use, you can purchase snacks (bags of sweets, lollies etc) in the restaurant to bring home as souviners and use them as your meals. this way you get to bring things home and dont loose your meals.

When you order your meals it is very interesting to see how much it would have cost you (Family of 4 approx $70-80 per meal!!) Just remember to request Large drinks as they seem to be trying to cut back wherever they can - you are entitled to it, therefore ask for it.

It was very nice to have a walk over to the Art of animation hotel over the bridge at Hour Glass Lake, very nice scenes from Cars and Nemo as the two we saw. Not too keen on their reception colours or their restaurant however as we did not stay there, we could not make too much of a comment.

We cannot wait to return in 2 years time and yes Pop Century, we will be back!!

Room Tip: Book early or request 60's room but not on the front - due to the entertainment each night these...

The only good thing is the price for being on Disney property. Honestly, Disney should be ashamed. This place is a disgrace. We stayed in March 2013 and Sept 2013. March was just as bad but only came back because it was all we could afford and still be on WDW property. The rooms feel dirty and out-dated. The decor is sparse and tacky in the rooms. The lobby feels a bit newer. The food court is chaotic and the employees seem clueless at best.

Great place to stay. Room was clean. Beds were comfortable. Great pool. Restaurant was good. Staff was friendly and helpful. A little more than outside-Disney resorts, but you pay for the convenience - Disney bus service and Extra Magic Hours. Also, our room was "preferred" - supposed to be close to main building, but was still a very long walk. Overall - great stay!
