“You get what you pay for”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2013

My husband and I and our two daughters stayed here. Very small room, small bed, small bathroom.Food court was okay but their system on how to pay is awful. We waited in line with our food trays for up to 15 minutes and by the time we sat down to eat the food was cold. The food servers had bad attitudes. Our room wasn't cleaned one day just picked up. Always had to ask for towels. We felt like the low man on the totem pole at the parks because we were the furthest bus stop every time. It isn't fun after walking all day in the parks to get back to your hotel and walk so far to your room, pool, or food court...the poolside bar is cute if you like $8.00 drinks in a 4oz cup. The pool was the best part, very clean and the life guards did an excellent job.

Room Tip: All rooms are the same. I would suggest a room close to pool and food court.

If we are staying on site at WDW at a value hotel, Pop is always our first choice. The place is huge so make sure you get a building near the main building. Otherwise it's time consuming to get to the restaurant for breakfast, refilling mugs. It's a value resort, so the rooms are small...but we spend most of our time at the parks! It's clean, fun and close to The parks!

Room Tip: We love the 50s or 60s.

Had a great stay here, with no complaints & I would definitely stay here again if it was just the 2 of us.

The rooms are small. I took my son to Disney by myself for 1 week and we stayed at the Pop Century. While the room was decent, it would have been too small for any other people to be staying with us.

The activities for the kids - parade and pool side games are fun for kids ages 4 to 8. The entire hotel had a great theme.

The food court had decent options, but seating was always limited.

Because this is a "value" resort, keep in mind it will always have the last bus terminal at the parks, so after a day of walking and being ready to head back to the room, you have a longer distance to go than any of the other resorts.

We like this value resort but if you have trouble walking make sure you ask for a room near the bus stop. Ask for a ground floor. Unlike the other value resorts (except the new Annimation which is a little higher priced) there is only one bus stop. The rooms do not have queen or king beds which can be a real problem for a family. The pools are very nice and the staff are Disney friendly and helpful. You can also walk across the bridge to see Annimation. It is interesting to see how many people decorate their windows and it does help to find your room. It is also a plus to have those large Disney characters to help you find your way. They are also good picture opportunities. We have stayed there many times and have never been bothered by noise but we are early risers. The food court is noisy but the food is fine and you can always find a place to sit.

The room was small, but totally adequate. The beds were OK, but when you spend sun-up to sun-down at one of the Disney Parks every day for a week, you don't even notice. The maid service was great as well. I would definitely stay here or any of the other value resorts again.

Room Tip: We stayed facing the lake and it was very quiet. If you need something closer to the bus stops, you...

My 7 year old daughter and I stayed three nights at Disney's Pop Century Resort April 19 - 22. My Disney travel agent advised me that this was a true "value" resort -- no frills and over-the-top themes. Considering that I wanted to splurge on experiences, meals and gifts for my daughter at the Disney parks we visited, and we were really at the resort only to sleep and swim, the value option worked out great for us. My daughter loved the bright colors and asked me a lot of questions about the different decades ("Mom, were you alive in the 1950s?" -- uh, no!). Our room was clean and sufficient for how little we were in it. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The maid service was timely and accommodated our requests. The food options in the food court were typical fare -- pancakes, egg dishes, waffles for breakfast; burgers, chicken nuggets, some "gourmet" sandwiches for lunch. We did not have dinner at the resort, and I paid out of pocket for all meals as we did not opt for the meal plan. Prices were expensive but I knew, and accepted, that fact going into this trip.

For me, the best part of staying at a Disney resort is that I did absolutely no driving all weekend. The Disney Magical Express shuttle picked us up from and returned us to the Orlando airport. The shuttle buses took us to and from Epcot on Saturday and the Magic Kindgom on Sunday. The trip could not have been easier.

Location, Location, Location~ This is a great value hotel for your money and the location and transportation is also great! You don't have to worry about driving anywhere if going to any Walt Disney attraction! We go often to Disney and tend to stay at Pop Century. We ask for a hotel room close to the main lobby for food and short walk to the buses and they always accommodate. We also ask for the first floor too, this is great for when you arrive late from all day at the park, it's much easier with kids. The staff is also very friendly and the rooms are clean. Love the stay there~

Room Tip: Ask for a first floor room and close to the main lobby for a short distance walk to the bus area.
