“Pop Century is the best Disney World value resort by far!”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

This was our 3rd trip to the Pop, and of course we loved it! Of the 4 true value resorts (The new Art of Animation is not cheap even though considered a value resort-it is however beautiful!!) , this is the only one that stands alone. The other 3 values- the All Stars are all next to each other, which often means sharing Disney buses. This means more time waiting for pick ups and drop offs due to 3 stops instead of 1. The themed decorations at the Pop are so fun! Even "kids" who don't remember the 50s-90s will love the themed areas. They have 3 pool areas which is nice so you can chose your own area. 2 are quiet, and the main hippy dippy pool is very loud. They need to work on 1 thing there- you can hear the music at the hippy dippy area and also the piped in music from the main speakers which is very annoying to hear them both at the same time. The rooms are adequate, but small, however most don't spend time in the rooms except to sleep. They now have mini fridges in the rooms which is a huge plus. They need to add coffee makers now also. We were a bit disappointed not to get the room type (king bed) or the area we requested. Next time we will know to ask before we get the key. The only problem we had this trip was the lack of magical towel animals. We had one easy towel shaped Mickey the first day and them none for the next 6 days, even after calling the front desk and being told they would take care of it. This is the 2nd trip there we have been told our housekeeper must be new, however I bet she doesn't work 7 days a week, and maybe that should be part of their training?! It is an expected part of the "magic" that we were not given again. They need to work on this. Other than that, it is a wonderful, magical place!

Room Tip: Be sure you ask exactly where your room is and what type bed it has before you go off to your room s...

My children and I visit Disney frequently thanks to my job. We have stayed at Pop several times and will continue to stay there in the future (We've stayed at all resort classifications). We prefer to stay in the 50's area in a preferred room. Our favorite room was out the door, around the shrubs, and then a few steps to the pool. Nothing but Disney magic during that stay! The rooms are smaller, but it is a value resort. When we stay at Pop, our intentions are to have plenty of park time and a few splashes in the pool. The addition of fridges makes this resort even more appealing now. We used to bring a small cooler for snacks.

Yes, this is a very large resort. The buses can be crowded, but Disney is very good with moving people from place to place. I sincerely wish naysayers would just stop for a moment, take a deep breath, and enjoy their vacation. We do normally have a car, but we take Disney transportation frequently. I love being able to have an adult beverage if I want to while I am in the park. I'm not a lush at all, but why take a risk when Disney will drive for you? A crowded bus will not ruin one's vacation. Please look at the big picture.

Concerning the food court - It is very busy at times. We preferred to dine in the parks, but would catch a snack in the food court. It was nothing for us to get an order of lo mein to split between the 3 of us. It was a nice snack and a great pick me up.

As with the rest of Disney, the employees are wonderful. I never experienced any unpleasant employees at all. In fact, our favorites were the gardening staff. Being early risers, we would always cross paths and share our good mornings.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I do consider myself a Disney expert and I am not afraid to share honest opinions.

We ended up staying here 3 nights due to a booking error, and were so pleased with our stay. There is a great atmosphere at this hotel at a price the average family can afford. We enjoyed the walking track that also took us to the Art of Animation resort. We had a handicapped room due to that being what was still available, and were pleasantly surprised that we had a room to ourselves with a king-size bed and an additional attached room with 2 double beds with its own bathroom for our college-age daughter. We chose to drive to the Magic Kingdom since free parking was included and wanted the freedom to come and go as we pleased so did not use the available bus system. This hotel would probably not be as appealing to some families with younger children as some of the other resorts, but was perfect for us. The in-room safe for no additional charge was a nice feature. Since we were so busy, we did not have time to use a fitness center, but that would have been a nice to have for someone staying long-term. The price was quite reasonable, and we would highly recommend this hotel and stay there again.

Rooms were clean.
Service was a hit and miss. When we came back from the park, our dirty clothes were placed on the bed. We had to call twice for the bell boy. We had to call twice for housekeeping also for something.

Positives: it was the cheapest available,
you save on parking charges at park if you live in Disney resort. Free movies at the open theatre. Friendly staff.
Negatives: no microwave or coffee maker in room. No coffee in the check in area also. Nothing to welcome the kids. There is a charge for pizza delivery also plus they expect gratuity. Service hit and miss.

I thought the place was very clean. They have it set up pretty neat giant 8 tracks and such had an awsome time. I will definantly go back if you stay here I recomend the park hopper option on the park tickets because some stay open later on certain nights than others

Room Tip: Get as close to the main building as you can

On our way to Spring Training we made a stop at Disney. Spent 3 nights at the Pop Century. Room was basic, but clean and comfortable. Pool is huge and heated, but the air was too cool to use it. Check in was easy, everyone was pleasant. Transportation to all the parks was prompt. It was a very pleasant visit. We would definitely go back again.

We spent a week at Disney's Pop Century for Spring Break. We chose Pop Century because we wanted to stay at a value resort for this trip and because of the reviews here and on other sites. We reserved a preferred wheel chair accessible room with a king and a double bed. We actually had 2 connecting rooms: one with the king and a roll in shower, the other with 2 double beds and a regular bath room. This was much more room than we expected, and worked out well for us. When staying at Disney, the room is really only a place to rest and sleep for us, not a place to spend lots of time in. The Disney free bus service is great. The food was typical Disney. We would definatly stay here again.
