“Magical trip!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2012

What a fun hotel! LOVED all the upbeat, cheery building decorations. Was just so much fun!!! The food court was good -- lots of selection. We ate the pizza 4 out of the 5 nights we stayed there. The atmosphere was just so "Disney"! Perfect for kids, especially. The beds were on the small size (double/full vs. queen), but since we had little kids (ages 5 & 7), it worked out fine. If we had 4 BIG people in the room it might have been a bit too cramped, however. Our kids loved the Hippy Dippy Pool and the daily activities they had going on. We paid extra for a "preferred" room to make sure we were close to the Classic Hall and the bus transportation and it worked out great. Everything was very handy for us. Fun, Fun, Fun!

We recently checked in to Pop Century so we would have a place to stay after experiencing Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. (Which is awesome, by the way.) At check-in, I had to add another guest to our room...no problem. My daughter had to print her boarding pass for her flight the next day...no problem. Did we need Disney's bus for transport to the airport? We did not, but it would have been no problem. Our room was clean and quiet. Pop Century gave us a good night's rest for the price.

We stayed for a week (1st - 8th Oct) this year & it was our first time om WDW property - I would highly recommend it! The room was plenty big enough for 3 adults, it was spotlessly clean, we were in the 70s block on the 2nd floor - we didn't have any problem with noise. The pools were lovely, our daughter loved the arcade, All Things Pop was great fun - especially when the music started & everyone danced! It was great for transport & the shop was well stocked with lots of Disney goodies. We also loved our free re-fill mugs - if we' had younger children we'd have enjoyed the free film every night under the stars but at 18, we couldn't persuade her! The restaurant wasn't too crowded & we never had a problem getting a seat any time of day or night...fantastic!

Room Tip: The 70s is close to the restaurant, shop & bus stops

My husband and I just returned from a 5-night stay in the 70's section of Disney's Pop Century. We knew it was a low-budget resort and that is what we had. We found no bed bugs (as some have written) and the room was clean and stocked. It was small (260 sq ft) but that was expected. The front desk was wonderful and helped with our questions, even to the point of taking extra time to make calls for us. The housekeeping staff was friendly. The resort was clean and everything we saw was in working order. The dark carpeting and bedspreads made the room feel dark. We didn't have any problem with noise. The bed was so-so and pillows uncomfortable but we dealt with it. After all, we were not staying in the Hilton!

The restaurant was okay--expensive to our hometown prices but not for Disney. Portions are larger than what we should eat for a meal so we shared a meal or saved for later. For $5.09 we got an ice cream sundae with 3 LARGE scoops of ice cream, hot fudge, whipped topping, nuts, and cherries. That was in line with hometown prices. I understand you can purchase a mug and get free drink refills while on property. The counter service offered a large number of choices.

The bus system worked great and the drivers knowledgeable and courteous. You save $14/day in parking at the Parks by using the buses--a fee that you save by staying on Disney property.

I have read negative reviews on this website and all I can say is that this is not a moderate or luxury motel and (hopefully) you are not planning to live in your room. If you want larger rooms with more amenities, go a couple of miles down the road and stay at the Radisson, Hilton, Plaza, etc. Pop Century is simply a place to lay your head after a long day in the Parks.

My family traveled to this property in November, and it was perfect for us! The party consisted of the four in my family, my two parents, and my husband's mom - a group ranging in age from 8 to 65. This property fit the bill for us with little to no exceptions.

Atmosphere: We all loved the theming - it was so much fun to go from decade to decade and see the details that were included. We stayed in the 80s area, so my kids LOVED going up and down the stairs "inside" a Rubik's Cube! The records that decorated the 50s area had some really funny titles and songs - take time to read a few. The pools had some terrific theming as well, and they never seemed overcrowded. (of course, it was November and not peak season) My advice: take time out of your busy Disney adventure to explore the fun theming at this resort!

Rooms: This property is a Value resort, as classified by Disney. Therefore, I was not expecting bells and whistles when it came to the room. It gave my family of four (2 parents and children ages 8 and 14) plenty of room to maneuver. The bathroom set up worked well with the shower and toilet separated by a door from the sinks. The hanging space for clothes was adequate, and the drawers and "cubbies" made unpacking from suitcases very feasible for our 8 day stay. The rooms also have a table and chairs which helped keep us organized in terms of maps and "treasures" picked up along the way. My parents and Mom-in-law had plenty of space in their rooms.

Dining: Everything Pop store and dining were fantastic! I was not going into the experience with any preconceived expectations, but this is Disney and they are known for exceeding expectations for sure! The three times we dined at the "food court" were wonderful (breakfast, lunch, & dinner). We all loved what we got, loved the variety, and defintely recommend getting the beverage mugs that you can refill there any time. Those are worth every penny!! We were at Disney on the dining plan, so didn't really focus on cost there, but from what I observed the prices were very in line with what I would expect for a resort food court.

My Only Caution: If you have someone who has difficulty walking, the parking versus elevator locations where we stayed seemed to be quite a walk. Just keep that in mind - it's not necessarily a negative, just a head's up so that you know how to plan for wheelchairs/strollers/walkers.

All in all it was a wonderful, family-friendly place to stay and we would definitely recommend it to everyone (except maybe a honeymooning couple - LOL!)!

Room Tip: Ask for a room closer to the elevators if you need them for stroller/wheelchair access.

I've just returned from a fantastic week at Pop Century.

Pop have lovely clean no frills rooms that are more than adequate to sleep in, the recent addition of a fridge and free WiFi is a great bonus, too.

The food court is very efficient with excellent choices and the lovely Tie Dye cheesecake which is seriously good.

From the super efficient check-in handled by Michael to the stellar room servicing by Phan made for a very happy holiday.

Same time next year!

Loved everything about Pop Century - the price, the size, the convenience and more. We paid $10 a day extra for a "preferred" room, which means it was closer to dining, lobby and transportation and it was well worth that extra. I wish we'd had more time to explore the resort itself! We used the laundry facility, the on-site store, and the food court. All were exceptional!

Room Tip: We asked for and got a room away from the ice machine, elevator and not facing the pool. It was a v...
