My girlfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights back in the beginning of October of last year (2011). The grounds of the hotel were immaculately kept and the place reminded us both of a Disney version of the all-inclusive resorts that we've been to down in the Caribbean. It is a huge property and paying for a priority room closer to the main area was a good investment in our opinion.

The rooms were fine, clean, tidy and like everything at the hotel, decorated with Disney things. Only problem at all I think we had, and it's not even a problem really, was that I had ordered flowers and chocolates to be in our room upon arrival from the Disney Floral and Gifts service and only the flowers were there when we arrived. I called up the service left a message and they brought some over the next day. Like I said, not a big deal but you pay quite a bit for the service so you kind of hope for a little better attention to detail.

So here's a really big benefit that we found to staying on the Disney property: Upon checking in you can get them to link your credit card up to your room key. Now you can use this card just like your credit card for everything that you do in the park for the duration of your stay. We would use it in the restaurant in the main building for breakfast. (The portions are huge for every meal and after we each threw out half of our food the first day, we just started splitting meals between the two of us instead.)

We'd then use the card to get in to whichever of the parks we'd paid for and once inside we could use it in any of the stores, food stands, etc. What's also good about staying on property is, if you buy souvenirs in any of the stores you can have them sent back to your hotel, where you can pick them up later.

We were really happy with the frequency of the transportation to and from the different parks and the hotel. The shuttle to and from the airport was a plus as well and saved us money on having to take a taxi.

Overall, we really enjoyed our experience here and would definitely come back because of all the little things that were included.

Room Tip: Priority rooms are closer to the main building and save you from walking all over the grounds after spending all day walking around the parks.

We've stayed at several different Disney resorts, and this was our first stay at Pop Century. It kept with the theme of the other Value resorts (All-Stars) as far as the colorful, oversized murals around the buildings. The price was perfect. We visited for Marathon weekend, and stayed for a week.

We were lucky enough to stay in the 80s section, and boy did it bring back some memories! Roger Rabbit was on our building along with PacMan and the ghosts. The 80s buildings around us had Sony Walkman and a floppy disc. Both of which my 11yo asked "what are those?" *sigh* There was a pool in the middle made to look like a computer. The pool was the "screen" and there was a giant QWERTY keyboard area below it.

Keep in mind, this is a VALUE resort, so don't expect a lot of bells and whistles to the room. The beds are simple, the bathroom and sink area are small but functional. There is not a microwave or fridge. But the bottom line is that the rooms provide the basic necessities and you get what you pay for. We love the value resorts because they aren't overly complicated and within budget. Since we were there for Marathon Weekend, we knew we wouldn't be in our rooms much.

One day after the long race, we put out the Do Not Disturb sign. Housekeeping left a bag full of towels and toiletries on our door for when we woke up with a note saying "just in case". That was cool.

The food court was crowded, but that's typical of a Value resort. The way to avoid the crowds is to not eat during "prime" hours. Start breakfast at 6:30-7:00 or have a late lunch. Most people will start eating about 90 minutes before the parks open so they have time to eat and get to the park before the gates open. And don't have dinner around the 6PM time frame.

Disney transportation is provided from this resort. It is right by EPCOT, HS, and WWoS, so it only takes a few minutes to get there. Allow more time for AK, MK, or DtD and the water parks.

We loved this resort, and it was in-line with our expectations of Disney service and value. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a preferred room to be closer to the transportation stops and the main lobby.

I should preface this review by writing that we stayed at Pop after Christmas and over New Year's Eve. As such we were GOUGED by Disney and the stay was not good value for the money they charged. Perhaps if we'd paid less I'd be more tolerant of the short-comings of the motel.
1. The room was decent: beds were okay (remember only doubles), bathroom well-designed, clean, quiet.
2. Foodcourt: terrible. My husband would brave the hoards for coffee early in the morning and on our last day we ventured in for a quick lunch. Big mistake. It was all bland junk. After much consideration I put back the ready-made turkey sandwich and ordered an "Asian Chicken Salad". It resembled in no way the photo, in fact it was exactly like a Chicken Caesar Salad. A bad one. Tasteless and lacking any nutrients. The rest of my family was similarly disappointed by their fare.
3. Transportation: the Disney buses between parks were clean and frequent, but often jam-packed.
4. Décor and grounds: fine but somewhat one-dimensional compared to other Disney resorts.

Room Tip: We requested a top (4th) floor and it was nice and quiet.

Stayed here with out 11 and 6 year old. The place is perfect enough, big rooms, great food court, arcades, pool and stuff. Employees were very helpful when i bought a damaged hoodie from magic kingdom, they did all the leg work on the exchange and just called me whe the item was already in the gift shop.
I chose this resort because of its keycard access to all the parks. it was really convenient. would definetly recomend this to all friends.

Loved the kids activities at the pool each afternoon. Rooms are small but adequate since we don't spend much time in them. The open air movies were great. Food in the cafeteria not great compared to most everywhere else in Disney. Clean resort and friendly staff.

Room Tip: Get a preferred room. The little extra is worth it. You get closer to the pool, food area and shuttle buses.
