“Magic Disney Resort”

Awesome hotel to say at with kids. My parents, I and my two sisters stayed there for a couple of days and we were impressed. The rooms were really clean, the service was understanding with any request we had and the location is beautifully designed. We didn't see the savannah from our room, but we weren't in our room for long anyways. The pool and hot tubs are nice. The food was very good.
But the best still is the savannah, where you can watch all kinds of animals! We loved the giraffes!

We can only recommend a stay at this resort, even though it's not cheap.

My family and I recently stayed here for 5 nights and it was the most unique hotel experience I have ever had. We had a room with a view of the savanna and it was just amazing. The kids loved sitting on the balcony and watching the animals - checking them off the list to see how many they could find. The lobby is breathtaking and the grounds are just cool. The staff was always very friendly and helpful.

We stayed off property for 2 nights prior to checking in the AKL. We arrived at 7am just hoping to drop off our luggage before heading to the parks, but we were pleasantly surprised to learn that our room was ready! Bonus!

The property is fairly large and the trip down to the pool or the restaurants might be a trek depending on where your room is, but we didn't mind. Even though Disney does provide transportation, we rented a car.

All in all, this was a great experience for us.

This has to be the best Disney hotel I have ever stayed in, the place is immaculate the staff are courteous and kind, the place has been open for a couple of years but still has a feeling of newness about it. I would recommend anyone to stay in this hotel. The only thing I would say is don't stay during peak times as the pools can get busy...

I recently stayed here for a week in December with my five year old son and husband. I reserved a room on the Savannah. Throughout the stay, we experienced numerous customer service issues which resulted in monetary comps, free meals and fast passes. In addition, my parents were also staying at the Lodge and experienced the same customer service issues we did plus some.

The room was no larger or nicer than any standard hotel room, and there are no luxury amenities for the price. The rooms definitely need a face lift.

We barely saw any animals on the Savannah which was very disappointing. I've talked to other people who have stayed here and they said they too didn't see many animals. When we did see animals though, it was really nice.

I have stayed at other moderately priced Disney properties and have had much better service for less than half the price of the Animal Kingdom Lodge. There is nothing magical about this hotel. Save your money and stay in a moderately priced hotel, or spend the same amount of money and stay at a nicer hotel in the area like the Gaylord or the Waldorf Astoria.

Room Tip: This is a big hotel, if you have young children or elderly travelers with you, you may want to ask f...

We stayed for a long weekend while we were in town . We were greeting by name at the door and they had our room ready. This was our first time to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge ( Jambo House) .The lobby was dark and small but beautiful .We stayed in a small one bedroom studio facing the savannah, not worth the extra cost to see a couple of zebras or giraffes from 50 yards. We had lunch at Mara ( burgers ) it was a quick service restaurant but it was very good. we had Dinner at Boma which has a buffet ,I was surprised at how tasty everything was and went back for seconds very similar to some of the upscale buffet at Vegas. This Hotel is the farthest from the Park and takes forever for a bus. It was nice but when we go back for our summer vacation with the grand kids we will stay closer to Magic Kingdom.

Room Tip: Even with children don't pay extra for a savannah room, you can walk outside to the pool and see...

we stayed at Kidani Village with the Disney Vacation Club... after a rough start at check-in resulting in a room change and comp'ed night... things starting looking up. We had a Savannah View room and my son LOVED it! He's two... he spent good stretches of time just out there watching the zebras. My partner used the gym every morning and said it was pretty nice, and walked by the pool and said it looked great. We were only there for two days in the parks so we didn't spend too much time in the hotel. Both adults staying with me were impressed with the Savannah view... and i think we'll go back... soon!

Room Tip: It's worth the extra money to get the Savannah View.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to be able to stay recently at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Disney Vacation Club Villas in a studio on the Club level (often called the Concierge level). The main difference between a DVC room and a standard room is that there is one dedicated bed and a sleeper sofa that is surprisingly comfortable when used as a bed. Other differences are the small kitchenette area with microwave, mini-fridge, and additional sink. Our room had a fair-sized balcony that looked down onto one of the savannas that DAK Lodge boasts. It is possible to sit there and enjoy a mix of (more or less) exotic animals as they roam and feed. Species we observed included giraffe, crowned cranes, wildebeest, and some variety of antelope.

The rooms have a shower/tub combo with a pleasant showerhead and water pressure. The decor is African themed and includes a lot of lovely dark woods (see pictures). The linens are smooth and the bed is soft, as are the pillows. There are several available outlets in the room, though most are low on the wall and possibly behind either nightstands or tables.

For those familiar with staying DVC, where you do not receive housekeeping service daily unless you opt to pay, the Club Level Villas include both regular housekeeping service during the day and turndown in the evening. Yummy chocolates on the pillow...

The Club Level includes rotating snacks throughout the day in the common area, ranging from cereals and pastries in the morning, to gummies, fruits, and cookies in the afternoon. The evening selections vary by day, with two slightly more substantial items being provided from the fantastic restaurants in the resort. There are juices, soft drinks, beers, wines, and cordials provided (the harder options only in the evening). Mind you, these are all billed as snacks, so please don't expect full-sized meals.

All of the Cast Members (Disney employees) we encountered were friendly and helpful. They were very accommodating (like when we asked for juice when in wasn't in the Club fridge) and didn't make us feel at all awkward as we went back time and again for more snacks and goodies.

We would highly recommend staying here and Walt Disney World as a whole. As a couple without kids, we can tell you: it's not just for the little ones!
