This was our second Deluxe Disney resort and so far is my favorite! The common areas are beautiful and the restaurants, although spendy were wonderful!

The resort is surrounded by several savanna areas so you have exposure to wildlife without leaving the lodge. In the evenings you can use night vision goggles to spot animals. We didn't see any but was fun none the less.

The transportation was convenient but crowded with crabby kids at times. We could have driven to the parks easily, but wanted to have a carefree trip.

If I could find a good price in the future I would definitely return!

This resort --is beautiful a bit farther away from all the other attractions in Disney. It offers a quiet spot for guests the savannah is beautiful and you see lots of animals. We were upgraded to a two-bedroom villa and it was exquisite full kitchen, washer, and dryer.

Room Tip: Savannah view would be ideal--but costs more.

We stayed the first week in April. Didn't realize it was spring break for much of the South. Disney was packed!! Still, AKL did a good job and the staff treated our little gal like a princess. We never waited longer than 10 minutes for a bus to the parks and we loved not having to deal with renting a car and hauling luggage. This was our first trip and we learned a lot - will definitely return.

We had a great time at this hotel. Loved seeing the giraffes & zebras from our balcony. The pool was huge and the staff was certainly friendly and helpful. The only two issues I have were that the room could have used some more storage space (maybe drawers) though it was spacious. The main issue was that, in order to maintain the animals, this place has a pretty loopy layout. Basically, the lobby is on the third floor...and if you are on thesecond floor you have to take the elevator/stairs to the third floor and then back down to the ground floor in order to get a cup of coffee in the morning! Dont ask about the logistics, you will see when you get there. Quite a few guests seemed lost on their first days. A small coffee/pastry stand tucked into or just off the lobby would have made a world of difference. It was seriously about 15 extra minutes we would sped to get breakfast just walking around, seemed a little crazy! Were the giraffes worth it? Yes! but be prepared to do some wandering around!

My husband and I stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House Oct. 16-20, and -like others- I was a bit hesitant about the distance from MK and Epcot, and curious about how many animals we would actually see, etc.

It is a breathtaking resort. The lobby at Jambo House took my husband by surprise (he did not know that we would be staying there...I kept it under lid until the Magical Express stopped there). From the seven story ceiling, to the drawbridge walkway, to the ostrich lampposts, to the indoor firepit style fireplace, we loved walking through the lobby. All around the resort, enclosed artifacts and information boards provide authentic context about Africa. These area feel like small museum displays. Very nice.

The pool is gorgeous, huge, relaxing. Hot tubs too. They were very warm as they are supposed to be, and the drinks from the pool bar were the perfect compliment to our afternoon arrival and relaxation preceding a full park day.

Needless to say, the service was as expected. Everyone helped with professionalism and warmth with our requests (from Magic Band/Fast Pass plus help, to requesting more hair conditioner).

As we walked to our room (standard/pool view-used a discount through a cast member friend) we saw zebras and giraffe on the way through the large viewing windows. We saw animals nearly every time we passed by the viewing areas, and spent one morning walking to Kidani Village to get a closer look at that savannah. We loved the pool view from the 4th floor, actually. I wouldn't have changed it for a savannah view because we saw animals from other spots, and loved the pretty landscaping of the pool area.

We ate at Boma (the buffet), and -yes- it's pricey, but we were very pleased with the selections, quality, and flavors. Additionally, the first floor casual cafe had nice quick take away items for breakfast and lunch when we wanted (croissants, muffins, sandwiches).

The busses came quickly nearly every time we waited, and were not a problem that would prevent my return to this resort. The trip takes about 20 mins or so, and we did not wait more than five minutes to board except one afternoon to get the Magic Kingdom for the Halloween event.

I recommend this resort. It's very special, and has a beautiful, luxurious feeling. Very nice for adults and kids, but I especially appreciated the relaxing nature of the details (even the themed music was chill!).

I stayed here with my husband, and 2 daughters ages 4 years and 22 month old. The Animal Kingdom Lodge was more than what I expected from pictures that others have taken in the reviews. it was a bit expensive, but once I walked into the resort, I was happy. The staff was very helpful, nice and friendly to kids. Their service was great.. Lobby looked amazing with the African theme, very spacious. The Jambo lodge to me seemed much better than the Kidani Village. Jambo Lodge is much more spacious, even the elevators are larger! ( we used a double stroller....3 strollers in total with another family so space is important).

We got there and they upgraded us to the savannah view which was awesome surprise. There were giraffes and zebras when we looked out our room. The restaurant food was good especially at Sanna @ the Kidani Village. Boma was also good too. The kids had fun with the parades in the resort and getting to know the African culture. The room was all right. spacious enough for us to park in the double stroller, plus a crib. The rooms were clean. I like that they used H20 brand for the shampoo/conditioner/lotion.

Great service... =)

Room Tip: If you get interlink room , one of the room would have a bunk bed and queen....spacious to put anoth...

We have stayed here twice. The first time in 2010 and again in 2012.The views are outstanding! Also the staff was excellent. The animals are actually in your yard! The lodge is very exotic in decoration (think AFRICA ). They also offer programs for children as well as adults. The "rock" is an excellent place to see and learn about the various wildlife in residence.

Room Tip: Always get a room on the savannah sides. They cost more but there is nothing like waking up to a gira...
