“Love this hotel”

We have stayed here 3 times over the course of the last 8 years. Our most recent visit was in Dec '11. We stayed here during the Christmas holiday season and most memorably staying on Christmas Eve. Our kids love it, we love it and really enjoy all the amenities the hotel has to offer. We have stayed each time in a Savannah view room and have paid for the upgraded concierge room. Our kids love access to the snacks and drink all day long. Our only complaint.... the hotel is dimly lit.

We have stayed here many times and always loved it. The rooms were great as well as the savanna views! Restaurants are great as well and this hotel has one of the best gift shops on site! And to top it off, the Castmembers here have always been great-take the time to talk with the guides there about the animal as well as their countries! It is farther away from some of the parks, but the bus service has always been good. Worth the money!

Room Tip: If you don't want to spend the money for a savanna view, there are still many places to view the...

My favorite resort of all the Disney Hotels. Nice relaxing place to unwind after a hectic day in the parks. I have been upgraded on several occasions too Savanah rooms and they are awesome. Nothing like waking up at 2 am and sitting on your balcony watching giraffe eat in the moonlight! I love the smells of the fire's burning at the resort too. The staff is excellent and the restaurants too. Mara too me is one of the best resort quick service places too eat. Great value and lots of food choices. My daughter and I could share a lot of meals since they give you big portions. Try the zebra dome desserts! Yum! The pool is so cool and they have activities like movies and such.....Great place!

just amazing, the staff were so helpful, we were having breakfast with the princesses in the morning and realised that we had been given the wrong size princess dress for our daughter while we were at hollywood studios, it was about 8 or 9pm in the eve and we went and told the receptionist of our hotel of our problem, they actually rang magic kingdom as the shop there would have her size, and then they got in their car and drove to magic kingdom and got the right size for her, the actual park was closing aswell, couldnt believe how helpful they were. they love children, all little girls are princesses and made to feel that way all the time. the cleanliness of the hotel was brilliant and to be honest so was the whole of disney world. we just had a standard room but we saw giraffes outside the window every day, it was cleaned to a high standard too. there is nothing i could fault the hotel on. the pool was lovely and the whirl pool was brilliant, i sat in their with my little boy who was 18 mths and he was so chilled he went to sleep in my arms. we are hoping to go back to disney in 2014 and i will go back to this hotel, it is one of the deluxe ones but not the most expensive. it also has a shuttle bus to the adjoining kidani village hotel which has a nice pool and water features for children, it is easily walkable tho if you fancy walking.

Room Tip: we were on the main reception floor , infact we were 3 doors up the corridor, just a standard room b...

We chose to stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge for our first trip to Disney World. We booked a vacation package through JetBlue. Not having to worry about our luggage was the first reward. Our luggage was packed to the max. The shuttle to Animal Kingdom Lodge from the Airport was memorable and got my boys even more excited to finally be reaching our dream destination.
Check Inn
Our Check Inn, Disney Cast Member was magnificent. When we were first checking in she informed us that our original reservation did not indicate that we requested a room with bunk beds. Since we booked through Jet Blue there was no way for us to tell that our room was properly booked. I showed her our contract with JetBlue which indicated a room with Bunk Beds. My oldest son who happened to be celebrating his birthday that day told the cast member how excited he was to sleep on the top bunk. Instead ruining his enthusiasm and disappointing the B-Day Boy she spoke to the manager on duty and she had us upgraded to a concierge level bunk bed room with access to the club lounge and snack bar. I was shocked because this was an upgrade to the magnitude of over $200 per day at no additional cost.
The Room
The room was impeccably decorated and spotless. We arrived to find our bed was decorated with towels in the shape of monkeys and elephants. We booked a safari facing room and it certainly did not disappoint. When we first opened the curtains and my boys saw zebra and giraffes right off the balcony. They were giddy beyond belief. I was impressed myself. The view was spectacular and we were simply mesmerized by the sights. The only bad thing was that it was virtually impossible to sleep in each morning because our youngest would pull the curtains open at first sign of light and yell and scream Zebra !!!
The Hotel and Grounds
Everything here at Animal Kingdom Lodge is immaculate. We enjoyed swimming in the huge pool. My boys simply could not get enough of the small water slides. They had lots of activities scheduled to keep us occupied like the night time night vision goggle tour, musical shows and arts and craft activities.
Private Animal Kingdom Tour
If you are lucky enough to stay in a club level room you will be given the opportunity to go on a private early morning tour of the animal kingdom safari before the park officially opens. This was worth its weight in gold. It felt like we were getting an up close and personal safari tour from Marlin Perkins himself. It was an awesome memory making experience.
Transportation to other Disney Venues
Animal Kingdom Lodge is a bit secluded from other Disney resorts. You may need to allot a bit more time to get to your other destinations. However the buses and shuttles come around every few minutes and negate the need for a rental car.
In true Disney Fashion Animal Kingdom Lodge will make your Disney Dreams Come True.

My family and I stayed in this beautiful resort last February. We also stayed in two other hotels during our vacation in Florida, but Animal Kingdom Lodge was our favorite. I did not want to move away from this amazing place. My grandchildren really enjoyed watching the giraffes grazing on the savannah outside our room. The staff made us feel so very welcome. My grandchildren and I enjoyed the bingo games by the swimming pool. Food was readily available poolside. The food at the Jambo House was out of sight. Wish I could eat there every day. The African musical instruments at the gift shop drew many children in and prompted the staff to join the band! We were delightfully entertained in the lobby.

Room Tip: A must is to obtain a room overlooking the savannah to watch the grazing animals.
