Marriott's Lakeshore Reserve

Reviewed September 15, 2012

We stayed in the "Palermo" building at Lakeshore Reserve for six nights, and did the typical Disneyworld and SeaWorld visits.

Our rooms (apartment) were spotlessly clean, as was the entire property.

The swimming pool area is especially nice and well-maintained.

A minor disappointment to me was the lack of a full restaurant on-site. The bar area serves a limited menu and it was good, but sometimes you want more choices. Not to worry, the JW Marriott is a very short walk with at least three dining venues. Also, the Lakeshore Reserve staff will gladly take you up there and come get you in a golf-cart type vehicle if you ask them. You can also use the JW Marriott pool and fitness facilities although we never chose to do that. (I did not visit the next property in the area--the Ritz-Carlton.)

Lakeshore Reserve is reasonably located. It might be thought of as a bit out of the way by some, but we had no problems, even though, if I do the trip again, I might consider staying at a Disney property.

Definitely recommended, especially for families needing more space and kitchen and laundry right there in your apartment.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this, Marriott Vacation Club's newest Resort in Orlando. It was our first time at this Resort and as long time Marriott owners, Lakeshore did not disappoint.

Everything is very new and so still in pristine condition. We were given a one bedroomed appartment, overlooking the lake. The appartments are beauutifully furnished and very attractive to the eye. Balcony furniture very comfortable too.
There was a lock off next door that was accomodated but we never heard a sound from the occupants.
The staff were keen to help and assist; they were quick to learn and address us by name.

The only negative was that as the Resort is still being built and therefore not very large at the moment, Staff at times appeared bored and the place did seem to lack a bit of atmosphere. On the Thursday a singer called Ruth King came and sang by the pool. We felt that this really helped to lift this slightly soulless atmosphere of the place.

The pool area was beautifully done. Some reviewers had mentioned that they found the Lazy River too Lazy. We felt that it was perfect and if you wanted to go faster then you could use the hotel pools. Landscaping of the whole Resort was outstanding and will look really stunning in a couple of years once more established.

All in all we had a great time and will definately go back!

Tip- When booking online, it can be very confusing as there are so many different configurations of accomodation available. So book what you think you need and then give the Resort a call and they will make sure that you have booked what you THINK you have!!

This was my third visit to Lakeshore reserve. It is a beautiful property. I like the fact that it is within walking distance to the Ritz Carlton and the JW Marriott. You can easily walk over there or have the hotel shuttle you over for a spa treatment or dinner. There are nice restaurants at both of the hotels. The food in the spa cafe at the RC is wonderful. The pool at this hotel is large and never seems crowded. It has a nice lazy river. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I did notice a strange noise coming from the ac this visit. If you are a poor sleeper this could be an issue since it is loud during the night. This hotel is still fairly new and the rooms are gorgeous with a nice big kitchen. A nice hotel for families or couples. If you have any problems ask to speak directly to the manager. He is very professional and will solve your issues immediately. They also have a nice fitness room and plenty of space to sit and relax in the lobby or by the pool.

Best of all we have been to. Small, walk able. Water in pools is bath temp. Has a lazy river and you can buy floaters at their mini store. Also, if it's not busy season you have pool privileges at the Marriottt hotel next door. Their pool system is the most spectacular of any I have seen anywhere in the world. Huge lazy river in Woodsy area but also other pools where you can get sun. Marriott has a nice Italian restaurant, not cheap but great. Also the Ritz is next door and worth having dinner at their classy restaurant Harry's, I think but very pricey. Disadvantage is their food/ bar does not serve dinner. There is a liquor store next to the Publix.

Their convenience store is the best I have seen. There is a Publix down the road where you can stock up on groceries. ritz offers a kayak trip down the head waters of the Everglades if you don't mind seeing a few gators well worth it and then you can have lunch afterwards at the Ritz golf club. Nice workout room with lockers and showers at Lakeshore. If you arrive early or leave late can use it. Also great outdoor jogging path.

Room Tip: They did provide beach towels at the pool you didn't have to wash yourselves. Internet is hit an...

This is our 2nd stay at this resort. Our first was in a 1 bedroom and we decided we had to come back. We are in a three bedroom townhouse this time. By far the nicest resort we have ever stayed in. The place is immaculate and where do you get a condo with a dinig room table that seats 10! Private terrace with table chairs and lounges that overlook the pond. If you want to relax in luxury then this is the place for you. And as an added perk you can use the JW Marriott or the Ritz Carleton pools as they are all connected by a brick path.

The week at this timeshare was wonderful. The grounds are so beautifully maintained. The amenities are great. The lazy river was so relaxing. Every member of the staff was so friendly and accommodating. It was so pleasant being in this great atmoshere. The rooms were beautifully decorated and had everything you would need. They had Bar-B-Q grills to use if you wanted to grill and they had a small marketplace in case you forgot any items. The daily activities could have been alittle more exciting. Also, the prices for the bar drinks even the happy hour specials were not that special. Unlike some Marriott timeshares when they had wine tasting or margarita madness you were not getting any freebies. But all that said the grounds, and the timeshare rooms were all beautifully taken care of and the staff was the best.

My family recently (Week of July 4, 2012) spent our vacation a Lakeshore Reserve. we resided in a two bedroom, two and a half bathroom villa. The bedrooms and two baths were upstairs. The half bath was downstairs along with the kitchen and the living room. This was a very spacious villa in a good location as we were not far from the pool. The villa was decorated nicely was very comfortable, and larger than some apartments. The only minus is that the living area is on the small side but we had no problem with that and I was inadvertenly charged for an item from the Marketplace for which I did not purchase. This was corrected when I brought it to the front desk person upon check out. She was not as friendly when I brought it to her attention but it was corrected. Myself and one of my daughters enjoyed the pool and our family walked to the Marriott Hotel (short walk) to catch the free shuttle to Universal. I have stayed at Marriott Cypress Harbour and Harbour Lake and I thought they were nice but Lakeshore Reserve is the way to go. Overall in my opinion this is a first rate resort with excellent accommodations
