Background info: parents live in Hawaii (born & raised) in all their travels they've never been to an Olive Garden.
You can tell from the get-go this location is busy. We pulled up for an early dinner before 6 p.m. and there were already people waiting out front (and it wasn't a small group of people either - I want to say 30+ outside). Inside there were approximately 20 people at the bar and 20 people seated or standing in the waiting area.
The hostess was friendly and polite, quickly added our party to the list and indicated that there was a wait time of 45 minutes. My parents were dead-set on checking this place out, so we opted to wait. I did overhear a group of elderly women (think bridge club or retirement home ladies night) who were waiting in the lobby banter about having been told 30 minutes wait upon their arrival and the gist of the conversation indicated it had been an hour. They were called up to the hostess desk shortly thereafter; not too long after they were called up, our party was paged.
A group of 30+ Spanish-speaking visitors arrived and asked the hostess if they could be seated, they didn't have a reservation and were quoted a wait time of 2 hrs. minimum. They left in a huff as quickly as their entire party entered the building, one party member re-entered to inquire what the wait time would be if they broke the party up into smaller groups - by then, the wait time for any table was about 1-1/2 hours. Clearly upset and grumbling, she exited the building and the entire party left.
After being seated, we were promptly greeted by our waitress - drink orders were taken for my mother, children, and myself. She discussed the wine offerings with my dad, took his order, and left to fill the drinks. Drinks were on the table within 5-10 minutes and an order of two appetizers and soup were placed. Appetizers arrived with 15 minutes or so, Entrées were ordered upon receipt of the appetizers, and food arrived within a respectable amount of time from the order being placed.
The food and drinks were excellent, well-seasoned and everything arrived on-time and at the appropriate temperature, staff members were friendly and provided top-notch customer service. The facility itself was clean and well-maintained. Checkout was hassle-free.
Compared with my personal visits with other Olive Garden locations across the country, I have to say that this location made my top three list. Will definitely consider having a meal here during a future stay in Orlando.
