Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort

This was our first stay at Bay Lake tower, after many trips to Disney- and many other stays at Deluxe Resorts.
Our family of 3 selected Bay Lake based upon the location to the Magic Kingdom, proximity to the Contemporary, and stellar reviews from other friends. I knew going into our stay that the studios were the smallest of any Disney Villa Resort.
The room itself is well equipped- a queen bed, comfy sofa sleeper, small table and chairs, galley style kitchenette, and a bathroom. Overall, it was everything we needed- but it was a TIGHT fit for a family of three. I really do not think we could have managed if we had another child. It took some creative configuring for us to manage three suit cases and the stroller, in addition to ourselves, in the room. Each day we needed to fold up the sofa sleeper- move the ottoman- place the chairs from the table onto the balcony- just to get situated. (Drawer space and closet space were tight, as well)
That being said, I was willing to do this simply based upon how much we loved the location, amenities, and proximity to the Magic Kingdom.
The pools were excellent, and offered a great view of Bay Lake. The Marina/Boat Rental was a great excursion for us one morning- and the lake view from our room gave us a front row seat for the water parade! The sky bridge to the Contemporary allowed us a great view of the Castle/Monorail- as well as Illuminations Fireworks in the distance!

My only suggestion- I do wish the prices were more fair- particularly on the studios- as they are very small. Other Disney Villa Studios are much larger, for much cheaper.

Room Tip: Request a lake view, with a view of the Marina for the best chance of viewing the water parade from...

This was our first time staying at Bay Lake Tower. It was an amazing hotel & the room was huge. The room was very clean and the cast members were very nice and helpful. We stayed here right before our wedding, so that we would have room to get ready. We had plenty of room and had no issues getting ready. We also had a great view of the pool and Bay Lake behind that. We could go to the elevator entry ways and watch Wishes, which was nice.

Our family of 7, including 5 adults and 2 children, ages almost 3 and 4 1/2, stayed at this hotel the last week of April. I cannot emphasize enough how perfectly it worked out for us. We had a 2 bed/3 bath villa. My husband and I had the bedroom with the king bed, my daughter and son-in-law used the pull-out sofa in the living area, which also had a single pull-out chair, and my other daughter shared the other bedroom with 2 queen beds with her nieces. The 3 full baths worked out great in that each couple and my other daughter had their own. If you check this villa out on the Disney website, you'll see that the photos show it exactly as it is. I was amazed at all the amenities included: washer/dryer, including detergent and softener, dishes, silverware, glasses, plastic cups for the kids, cups, containers, utensils, even a pitcher! The kitchen also had stainless steel appliances including fridge, stove, microwave, and dish soap and sponge. Each main room had a flat screen TV. Plenty of closet and drawer space! Big balcony. Truly, it lacked nothing! We felt very much at home! Not only were the accommodations wonderful, but each day we came home from the parks, the place was cleaned immaculately.
Although the Monorail runs right through the resort, it was just as convenient to take the short walk to the Magic Kingdom. Buses to the other parks can be boarded right outside the hotel. The Contemporary has a few restaurants including Chef Mickey's, The Wave, Contempo Cafe, which had a nice variety for lunch and California Grill (2 meals on the meal plan).
I would highly recommend this place for families!!

Room Tip: We were on the lake side on the 12th floor overlooking the pool. Very quiet except for the musical...

This was our first time staying at the Bay Lake Towers. The location is perfect if the Magic Kingdom is your place to go. Just a short walk across the road and you are at the main gate. Checking in was a breeze along with purchasing passes for the park. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. We were on the ninth floor facing the lake. You could see Epcot off in the distance and a great view of the water show every night. We stayed here for four nights before our cruise. The laundry room was great to get clothes washed before moving on. Each room had a balcony with a table and chairs. There is a child lock on the door leading from the living room to the balcony.

Our group of 6, 4 adults and 2 children spread over three generations, stayed in a two-bedroom theme park view suite. We have stayed in 5 other resorts at Disney World over the years, and this is by far the best! Of course, it helped that the kids are young, so our interest skewed to the Magic Kingdom, but the location can not be beat if MK is your main draw at WDW. We often visited a park in the morning, returned to the resort to swim in the afternoon, and then, whoever still had the energy walked to MK for some quick rides during the quieter evening hours. You can ride the monorail that runs through the Contemporary resort to MK, but it was only a 10 minute walk to the front gate from our room. The only time we used the monorail was when we were dodging some rain showers. The two-bedroom suite had one bedroom with a king bed and large bath, one bedroom with two queen beds and a smaller bath, an entry area with a third full bath and a stacked washer and dryer, and a living area with a large booth for eating, full kitchen, and sofa and chairs. The stars of the suite, though were the massive, floor-to-ceiling windows. From our perch on the 10th floor, we watched the fireworks every night with the TV tuned to the hotel channel for the accompanying music. I'll never forget the little noses pressed against the windows, oohing over every spectacular burst. The price was high, but this is Disney and, by using a DVC points facilitator, we were able to get the entire suite for about the same price as two smaller rooms at the Polynesian. We saved enough on breakfasts and the two dinners that we cooked in the room to convince even the Scrooge McDuck in our group that it was worth it!

We love staying at BLT because the location is GREAT! We love the monorail and the buses work fine. But the rooms are interesting...the couch and chairs in the living rooms are not comfortable after a long day of walking and there are NO towels bars or hooks in the bathrooms (well there is 1 hook) for 4 people. The beds are comfortable and the place is clean (they only "fluff and fold" the towels once during a week long stay so don't expect daily service. There is a washer and dryer in the 1and 2 bedroom units so you can do laundry(the studio rooms - like a regular hotel room - have a tight galley kitchen with a dorm size refrig and microwave, toaster and coffee pot - making breakfast easy but no other meals really) The 1/2 bedroom units have full kitchens making all meals a piece of cake - but beware there are no storage containers for leftovers.

Room Tip: rooms on the front side of the building can see the fireworks from the balcony in the MK each night...

Great location to Magic Kingdom! Room could have used some updating. Boogers smeared on bathroom and laundry room walls. TV broke and took 3 days to fix it. Discovered bugs in pull out chair first night. Laundry room was a great bonus, especially days that everyone got soaked by rain!
