We had a two bedroom condo with living room and kitchen combination and three full bathrooms. There was a refrigerator, washer, dryer and a TV in every room. There was sleeping room for three in the living room/kitchen area and one bedroom had a king size and the other had two queen size beds. The accommodation could not be beat especially with a three year old and a 6 year old. The washer and dryer got plenty of use. Everyone was great and our experience with housekeeping was good. The condo was kept very clean and we got plenty of towels. The kids loved the pool and the convenience to the Disney Parks could not be beat.

Room Tip: One side of the hotel has a water view. The other side has a view of the Magic Kingdom and you can...

We had a studio, lake facing but if you stepped onto the balcony, you could see the Magic Kingdom castle. The studio was pretty small, but was ok for three of us. If I did it again, I would get a one or two bedroom, but they had all sold by the time I booked. The hotel is in good condition. I had to have housekeeping come to re-slean parts of the studio when we arrived as it hadn't been cleaned properly the first time (old toothpaste marks on the counter in the bathroom, crumbs in some of the drawers.

The pluses: Location primarily: you can walk to the Magic Kingdom in 10 minutes, which was wonderful, the kitchenette in the studio was very handy, the pool was clean and the children loved the slide, although it was a bit on the small side, the design was contemporary and sleek, which we preferred to some of the fussier decors the resort hotels offer, the food at the Wave was surprisingly good with numerous healthy or vegetarian offerings, the monorail goes to the Contemporary Hotel, which is connected by a skybridge, so very close and accessible, lovely views of the lake, friendly staff, a tuck shop in the Contemporary Hotel.

The minuses: cleanliness wasn't great, the room was too small, the food at Chef Mickey's was pretty dismal, although the children get to meet the characters, so it's worth doing for one meal.

I would recommend this hotel to people with small children who want to spend their time at the Magic Kingdom primarily.

Room Tip: Choose a lake view room - otherwise you get a view over the carpark with the Magic Kingdom in the di...

Location, location, location - I love staying at a Disney Resort where you are so close to at least one park. It's great to walk over to the Magic Kingdom, especially if you have a few hours to kill in the evening after all day at another park.

In addition, it's a monorail ride to EPCOT or the Polynesian or Grand Floridian hotels if you want to catch a bite to eat somewhere else. It's the convenient bus to HS, AK, and Downtown Disney.

The resort is excellent since it's new. I had a studio pool view room. The studios are well appointed with a large bathroom and kitchenette (microwave, wet bar, coffee maker) and plenty of storage. The rooms also come with a digital safe and flat screen TV. The rooms are sound proof for the most part.

I love modern design so I found the resort very cool - from the artwork in the lobby, artwork on each floor near the elevator, the elevator doors with the hidden Mickey, to the room artwork.

Take advantage of going to the Top of the World Club while you are there to watch the fireworks. You get a different but fantastic view. The music soundtrack is played there so you don't miss a beat of the story/show. The lounge has drinks and appetizers if you want to go up earlier and relax before the fireworks. You can stay inside (although you may be blocked by those standing outside) or walk outside to a large patio type area to watch the fireworks. The cast members said Mondays - Thursdays were the least crowded. Most people started arriving 20 minutes ahead of the start time and just waited outside for the fireworks. There is plenty of room in the outside area to accommodate many people. For safety reasons, the wall is high so many parents had little ones on their shoulders. You have to check in at the first floor and show your Disney Resort room key. Then another cast member meets you at the elevator who has the card key pass for the elevator to go to the 16th floor.

The Contemporary Resort has the standard small grocery store (like any DVC Resort) and there is counter service also available. Chef Mickey is also there and so is the Wave restaurant (which is excellent).

I would highly recommend this resort.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite, which has a fully equipped kitchen and I mean fully, washer and dryer included. Everyone was extremely nice except the maid. She was not happy on our second day because we were still in the room at 8:30am as we had closed Magic Kingdom down the night before but she did not care. However, she is only one.
The rooms are very nice and I would go back there again and again.
This room package was extremely expensive but very much worth it.

My extended family stayed at this location in November 2012 for a week...overall, the location was great. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and overall it worked out well. I had to have the cleaning staff come to reclean many of the surfaces in the kitchen/den areas, as they were dirty. I have to believe this was just an oversight, but didn't, initially, make me feel very comfortable. Everyone was pleasant and accomodating.

With younger children this location worked out well!

Room Tip: Ask for a room that overlooks the park

This hotel is expensive, but you certainly get what you pay for. Beautifully designed with high end decorator finishes. We stayed in a one bedroom 2 bath suite with kitchen and dining area. It was a fantastic home base for our family in the Disney resort. Pool with huge waterslide was a big hit with the kids after a long day in the park. And it was even close enough to walk back from the Magic Kingdom when the monorail was out of service for a few hours.
Overall I would highly recommend this hotel.

Wonderful location. So close to Magic Kingdom, easy to get to the other parks by monorail or Disney bus transportation. Employees at the hotel (referred to as cast members by Disney) were the best. This is our favorite Disney Hotel in Orlando. We were there from April 28 to May 3, 2013.

Room Tip: We prefer the higher floors. This trip we were on the 4th floor and it was great. The view of the...
