Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort

We stayed here for 5 days and it was great. We had a 1 bedroom villa with a kitchen and living room, with one toddler and grandparent. The resort does not look like a "Disney" resort and you wouldn't even think you were staying at Disney if it were not for the signage (we stayed at the Beach Club villas last year and loved the decor much better and Disney feel). However, notwithstanding that, it was very convenient to be along the monorail and a short walking distance (10 minute) to the entrance of Magic Kingdom. This allowed us to plan most of our meals at monorail resorts and at Magic Kingdom. We had a Lake View which was OK. There were some lake light shows which we actually found annoying and loud, and we could not see any fireworks from our room, but you can see them right outside the resort or along the walkway from the Bay Lake Towers to the Contemporary. The rooms were very clean, modern and nice. We really like this location and would return again.

We stayed for two nights in the Bay Lake Towers and the room was immaculate. We opted for the park side of the building and it was fun watching the rides, trains and buses moving all around. 7-8 minute walk to the Magic Kingdom, so you could go back and forth with ease.

Get place to watch the fireworks each night as well.

This was a beautiful place to stay. With direct access to the monorails, and beautiful views of the park, where else would you stay. We were granted access to the 16th floor, where they have a lounge and a spectacular view of the entire Disney property. We were able to watch the late night fireworks from the Magic Kingdom there. As it is part of the Contemporary resort, everything has a contemporary feeling. We were in a studio sized room. The room had a balcony facing the pool, a separate kitchenette and a separate bathroom. The room had an alarm clock with an iphone charger (4s and before), a dvd player, nice flat screens. I really enjoyed the Art work. I've stayed in the contemporary before and now that I've stayed at the Bay Lake Tower, I'd much rather stay there again.

Rooms were terrific. Service was terrific. Would highly recommend this to families. Easy access to monorails, views of the Magic Kingdom and fireworks. Pool is very kid friendly with two slides - one for 3 year olds and one for anyone older. Staff is extremely helpful.

Room Tip: Either side is great - one has the fireworks, the other has the pool.

We are a family with 2 kids that decided to make an upgrade from staying at 2 rooms at the Disney's Contemporary Resort to an apartment with 3 bathrooms, kitchenette; 2 spacious rooms; living and dining room and a washing/drying clothes room. The cost was a bit more, but it worth it; cause we could have more room to enjoy; 3 TV's; daily maid service; and could kept icecreams, beverages and snacks for the kids. Maybe we shouldn't have purchased the Deluxe Dining Plan which included 3 complete daily meals which at buffet restaurant's such as Chef Mickey's; Crystal Palace; Hollywood Vine; cause after having all the meals there, they was no reason for paying extra for a kitchenette but if you're going to spoil your kids at Disney you should be spoiled with at least a nice space where to stay. The building is interconnected by a skybridge at the fourth floor with Disney's Contemporary Resort in which the Chef Mickey's restaurant is located. You can use both pools; which are filled with warm water and walk to Magic Kingdom which is less than a block away.
The monorail takes you to all the Disney Parks or at least connects you with shuttle buses terminal as well with the Polynesian and Grand Floridian Resort.
Our stay was magnificent; costly but worth it. The kids were thrill.

Room Tip: If it's your first trip, focus on spending everything on the parks and stay at the cheapest room...

We decided to try a lake view studio out on Presidents Day weekend. First off, this is the busiest weekend for the parks. Too busy for my family and I, 2 hour long waits. I heard they almost reached maximum capacity! The nice benefit of staying at BLT was the close proximity. We were able to walk to the park every day. The downside is the small size of the studio. We have stayed at all other Disney Vacation Club studios and this is by far the smallest in size. I started to feel extremely claustrophobic after 5 minutes in the room! The kitchenette was nicely designed with lots of drawers and storage but that great space took away from the bathroom size. There was not even a counter space in the bathroom. Only a sink and a cabinet under the sink. Unbelievable! There was no storage for towels either. There was a tiny shelf over the toilet. My daughter forgot to shut the seat and all of the towels fell into the toilet! OVerall the hotel is clean and modern, great location to MK but too small.

Room Tip: Do not worry about the view when choosing a room. It is not worth the extra cost.

We are Disney Vacation Club members and this continues to be our favorite location for our trips. We have small kids so we tend to spend a large portion of our trips at Magic Kingdom and Epcot. This is the perfect location for these parks. Our walks to MK made it very worth while. The resort is very clean, rooms very comfortable, and the pool is great, and the staff is very friendly. They have events at the pool for the kids and a great lounge at the top of the building.
