We stayed in a 2 bedroom lake view on August 13. This was our first stay as owners and we abosutelynloved it.It was my family of four and my younger brothers family of four. There was more than enough room. My daughters had the pull out sofa as they are teens and my brother and his kids had the second bedroom. With three full bathrooms there were no issues with space. The view from the room was awesome with great views of the lake, pool and Epcot in the distance. Speaking of Epcot, if you staying for illuminations here is a great tip. At the end of the show the monorail gets crowded not to mention the long walk back, hop over to the Beach club or Boardwalk and grab a bus back to MK. And walk back to BLT. Save tons of time. Wishes from the lounge at the Top of the World is great too. Stay here, you won't regret it.

We wanted to try the newest property of Disney vacation club. What a mistake this was. If you like modern decor and you must be near the magic kingdom then you will love this place since it is within walking distance to the MK. It feels like you are in a large city with all of the noise and chaos that goes along with it. That is not my idea of a relaxing vacation. When you pull up to the large building with 16 floors you get the impression that it is a big high rise building. There isn't anybody at the door to greet you and you are kind of on your own. You do not get that Disney magic feeling of being welcomed. The parking lot is out front and you are on your own as far as finding a space. We visited on an off peak time and I can't even imagine how crazy this place gets when it is busy. The lobby is strange and very cold feeling. There were 4 cast members at one small podium for check in and they were not friendly at all. They don't provide you with any information about the hotel at all. They do not have a gym or a marketplace on site. You have to go over to the contemporary hotel via the 5th floor walkway. The rooms are nice but already run down for only being open 3 years. We had some chipped and ripped furniture in the room and there were stains in the carpeting in the room and the hallway. If you like a modern "Jetson" theme then you will love the room. I prefer the other disney hotel decor because they are soothing. We were on the 14th floor and the floor to ceiling windows are dramatic and offer nice views if you request them. We had a lake view and we could also see space mountain and the castle from our balcony. The staff never told us that disney changed their key card system and we were a little baffled when we got to the room. Instead of inserting your card into the door slot you just wave it in front of a new thing that replaces the old slot. It just would have been nice if that information was provided. Vacation club members can get access to the 16th floor top of the world lounge. The stupid part about this is that you have to go all the way down to the lobby back to where you check in to show your card to a cast member. This person treated us like we were criminals and was not friendly at all. Then he leads us down a long hall back to the same elevator that we just got off of. He swipes a card in the elevator and presses the 16 floor. It seemed like a very stupid system with all of the walking back and forth. Why couldn't our room card just give us access to the 16th floor? Well that is Disney. The lounge up on the 16 floor is nice but I thought it would be larger. Watching the fireworks up there is nice and there is a great view of Bay Lake and the grand floridian but I think it is more of a thrill to watch the fireworks in the Magic Kingdom. After the fireworks show we went back to our room to unwind and relax. We went to bed around midnight. We thought we were crazy when we heard loud music coming from somewhere. It kept getting louder and louder and sounded like a rock concert. At 1 am we were still awake and the music was insanely loud complete with vocals and loud bass which was annoying. We called the front desk and the staff had no idea what I was talking about. When we went out on our balcony it was obvious that something was going on at the Magic Kingdom. But how could that be? It was already closed. We called the front desk again and were then informed that the bands that were performing for the Night of Joy at the MK were doing sound checks and would be doing that until 6am. Are they kidding me? And that this would be going on for another 2 days and nights. It would have been nice if we were told this when we made our reservation and checked in to the hotel. We slept for 4 hours and then called a manager and they moved us over to animal kingdom lodge immediately for some peace and quiet. And guess what? A staff member greeted us outside and the person who checked us in was so welcoming and friendly. I would NEVER return to Bay Lake Tower or recommend it to any of my friends. I left the stress of a big city behind why would I want to experience that on my vacation. But to each his own.

The room was clean, and our request to be near the Skybridge was fulfilled. The pool was awesome, when it was not raining, and the common areas were all very clean. Top of the World was a cool experience. It was really exciting to see the Magic Kingdom at night from up there. We had one issue with housekeeping. We had ordered daily housekeeping services on our DVC stay and were told via email we would be billed the amount at checkout. On our first day back to Bay Lake Tower from the parks, at around 3:30PM, our room still had not been made up. We called the front desk and were told someone would be right up. By about 4:15, we were getting closer to our dining reservations and called again. This time, we were told someone from housekeeping would call in 5 minutes. By 4:40 I had enough, no call, no show. I went to speak with someone at the front desk, as I feared we would miss our dining. They sent the housekeeping manager to speak with me. He was argumenative and belittling. I spoke with a different manager the next day, he made it right. Did not expect this from a Disney resort. Other than that one bump in the road, the stay was great!

Room Tip: Request a room near the Skybridge

We stayed here 8/19-8/26 in a 1 bedroom with a lake view. The view was very nice and the room very clean. The only problem we had with the room was the couch in the living room was the most uncomfortable couch we had ever sat on.We enjoyed our stay, alot of amenities with the bridge to the Contemporary and being able to walk to Magic kingdom was great .BLT is very nice but lacks the warmth of the other DVC resorts. We would stay again but not as a first choice

Stayed at Bay Lake Tower in a 1 bedroom villa theme park view from 8-29-12 to 9-4-12. We stayed on a cash reservation because we aren't disney vacation club members. Our room was located on the third floor and was abstructed. When we arrrived we asked for a room on a high floor and were told the only one was on the third floor. We were told that DVC members get first dibs on room assignments. on our last day we took a trip up to the tenth floor and it was a night and day difference. Non DVC members beware.
The pool was quiet in the morning and evening but packed in the afternoon. The beach was overgrown and crowded with bees and lizards. The bees would bury themselves in the sand. I almost got swarmed moving a chair. We found the beach and pool at the Contemporary to be much nicer and less crowded.
Bottom line put in requests early and don't settle for less than floor 8.

Room Tip: High floors equal better rooms

Spent 3 nights in a 1 bedroom lake view room, 10th floor. The room was laid out perfectly, leaving enough room for 2 adults and 2 kids to move comfortably around. The living, dining, and kitchen are open with the master bedroom off the dining area. The kids used the sleeper sofa which they loved and there was a sleeper chair for an additional guest. The kitchen is complete for in room dining. The hotel is perfect location to walk to the Magic Kingdom, catch the monorail to Epcot or drive to Downtown Disney. This hotel is now our preferred location when booking through our DVC Membership.

Room Tip: We found the lake view to be wonderful, you can always stand on the walkway via the 5th floor to vie...

Stayed for 4 nights in a 1 bedroom lake view. The accommodations offered more than enough space for our party of 2. King size bed, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen and living room with pullout sofa and sleeper chair. Walking distance to Magic Kingdom, use of both Bay Lake and Contemporary amenities. Nice rooftop lounge perched above to have a cocktail while watching the sunset or fireworks. A quick walk over to the Contemporary ( attached by bridge) offers dining and shopping lacking at Bay Lake. We would stay there again.
